When guys age it seems their upper lip disappears( and their ears appear huge). After considerable research on Real Self , and after a consultation with a different cosmetic surgeon in San Diego, I decided to go to Dr. Perenack in Baton Rouge. I learned he had written about this procedure years ago and even taught it to other doctors. And he's been doing it longer than other cosmetic surgeons I researched, many of whom appear to have jumped on the bandwagon only lately as the lip lift procedure gained notoriety.
It was immediately obvious that Dr Perenack does the lip lift very frequently, and has it down pat. His nursing and support staff at every level is top notch, and it seems most have been with him for a long time....so everyone knows their function. Sign of a well - managed office.
What shocked me was that on a pain scale of 1-10 the procedure was a ZERO! Real Self reviews of other doctors all mentioned feeling horrific pain during the injection of the numbing agent. But I felt no pain at all, nada- even less discomfort than when the dentist fills a cavity. I believe it may be because of his use of a pre injection numbing cream, like the type dentist use. And his experience.
I flew in on a Wednesday for a consult, had the procedure Friday , and decided to stay in a nearby hotel(which had a Whole Foods within walking distance)until the following Thursday.
My upper lip is still a little numb, but now looks like it did when I was in my twenties....nothing more....nothing fake...... a very subtle change .......as good cosmetic surgery should be.
Today is day 6 and while the incision line is still somewhat visible , I can tell it's going to heal , and fade away just fine. In a few months I hope to post a photo or two. And to dig up some" before " photos for comparison.
Finally, I was so impressed with Dr. Perenack's surgical skills that I'm thinking of returning for some other work....the ears maybe?????

Happy for you! I'm considering Dr. Perenack to have this done this month, could you please private message some photos! This would be appreciated.
It is great to hear from a man who had this done! Was the incision made just under your nose or farther down?
