Finally made it.
Well I made it to Bangkok! The flight was intense. I chose to fly Emirates and in doing so had to fly to Dubai first with a 3 hour layover pushing my total airport experience to about 30 freakin hours... like I said, it was intense. And to top it off, Emirates conveniently "lost" my checked luggage! I'm not gonna lie, I had a mini nervous break down at the airport upon arrival. As you can imagine, all I kept dreaming about was the long hot bath I was gonna take when I finally got checked in and unfortunately that wasn't gonna happen (not with all my fancy bath beads and such anyways). However Dr. Pichet Rodchareon's driver was there waiting for me at the airport so that was comforting in such an awful situation. The man organizing the transportation at the airport for the Dr handed me a cell phone where I talked with one of Pichet's staff members and confirmed my meeting with the doctor for the following day. Check-in at the hotel was a little odd. I'm certainly not in "Kansas" anymore and it is fairly clear that the staff's first language is not english. With that being said, we managed to get through the check in pretty quick. It helped that I had an email from the doctor printed out, once I showed the lady at the front desk the email she was able to find my reservation that Dr Rodchareon had pre-arranged. The room is nice enough, it's certainly not the Bellagio but with a price tag of under $1000 for a total of 20 something days I'm definitely not complaining. They even had some toiletry items stocked in the bathroom so I was able to shower, not lavishly like I'm used to but at that point I think I would have been happy with a hose and a bar of soap LOL!
After my shower, the front desk arranged a taxi for me and I was off to the dentist that Pichet referred me to. If you are also looking to have dental work done take his advise- BIDC is awesome and their staff is great. Today I had my examination, cleaning, fillings, and teeth whitening and after my meeting with Dr Rodchareon tomorrow morning I am going in to have my temporary veneers place. These people work fast! I love it. I told them that time is of the essence and I need 1.5 - 2 weeks to heal after my plastic surgery and there is no way in hell I'm gonna want to have to sit in a dental chair after having butt implants and half my face augmented. After we all laughed a bit about it the dentist then made arrangements to make it happen so I am very pleased. Tentatively I will have my surgeries with Dr Rodchareon on the 10th but that won't be set in stone until after my consultation with him in the A.M. So yeah.... that's about it for now. I guess I will do an update again tomorrow. Oh and by the way, teeth whiting suuuucks! my teeth are hella sensitive at the moment even with the pain medicine the dentist provided me with. I would say it is definitely worth it but it does come at a price. Hopefully the sensitivity subsides by tomorrow.....

Thanks for the update! Tooth whitening is hard. Do you have any toothpaste for sensitive teeth? My dentist told me to put that in a tray (or night time bite guard if you have one) and let it sit on your teeth for a while.
Your Thai experience is fascinating so please keep updating!

My first consultation with Pichet Rodchareon M.D.
Today I woke up fairly early, somewhere around 4 a.m. I guess I'm having a little difficulty adjusting to the time change but really it's for the best considering that my meeting with Dr Pichet Rodchareon was at 8 a.m. Around 5:30 I decided to call the front desk and ask when their breakfast service starts. They informed me it was in 30 minutes so at about 6:15 I moseyed myself down to the lobby where I was pleasantly surprised by a wide array of yummies. I have never had Pad Thai for breakfast but hey, it was good so whatever's clever right? They also offer traditional breakfast type grub- I was particularly partial to the Thai Omelet and doughnuts and I am one of the most picky eaters that I think have ever walked the Earth so that says A LOT! I am very happy with Pichet's recommendation to stay at the Atrium Boutique Hotel. It's clean, spacious, cheap and the food is good- what else could you really ask for? Anyways, after breakfast I returned to my room to shower and get ready for the day. Before I knew it Dr. Rodchareon's driver was calling me from the lobby and ready to take me to the clinic and off we went... Let me just say this, Thailand is kinda weird and I think I may be experiencing a bit of culture shock honestly. From what I have seen thus far, the neighborhoods are kind of dilapidated, sort of what I would imagine Detroit (no offense) to look like LOL! I dunno, it's just kinda weird. Like I said in the last update, "Dorothy" definitely not in "Kansas" anymore.... Once we arrived at the clinic I was greeted by some of the most friendly staff I have ever met. The clinic it's self is great. Very clean, modern, and the FURNITURE! OMG I need some of this stuff for my house! Golden, fancy, fabulous.... would go perfectly with my thrones HAHA! Once I was done drooling over the furniture I was led to an upstairs room where I discussed my procedures with a couple of the staff members. By the way Mao is awesome! Can I adopt her as my grandma?? Im 100% serious, I just ADORE her!!! After a few minutes Pichet Rodchareon M.D. came into the room. He greeted me with a huge smile and a rather funny remark about finally meeting the "Princess" haha! We joked a little about my relentless emails and then got down to business. Basically we went over each procedure and what I was expecting as well as setting our surgery date for Wednesday the 10th. After that was out of the way we went over the prices again and I then paid half of the total. I chose to do this because my bank (Bank Of America) has my account limited to a $10,000 a day limit and with my procedures costing a total of $12,000 it was really my only option. Oh I guess I should mention that we decided not to do the fat grafting. Dr Rodchareon assured me that my bottom has an adequate amount of cushion currently to mask the implants once they are placed under the muscle... So that's a plus and saved me $1,500! After the payment was processed Mao decided that I simply MUST go shopping so she sent me in Pichet's car over the the Platinum shopping mall. I mean I have seen some malls in my day but even the Mall of America doesn't compare to this place.. it's HUUUUGE! Floor after floor after floor... wow wow wow. I mean I only made it up the first, I don't know, 5 stories... so I'm gonna have to go back ;) After a few hours there I asked one of the many mall security guards where I could fetch a taxi. He sent me in the proper direction and I started off. On my way there a young guy asked me where I was going so I showed him the map and hand written letter that Mao and the other staff at Bangkok Plastic Surgery supplied me with before I left and he agreed to drive me in his Tuk Tuk ... I just had to try one of these things out, I couldn't come to Thailand and not ride in a Tuk Tuk right? Nevertheless I don't think I will be doing that again... It was rather scary and I felt like I had to hold on for dear life LOL! Once I got back to my hotel, I returned to my room and tried on all my new stuff as they do not have changing rooms at the mall (it's more of a swap meet / wholesale situation) and I lucked out! Absolutely love everything I got- so if you are an american size 2-ish go there, you are gonna love this place. Tons of stuff to choose from and super good prices. At about 4pm I returned to the lobby and asked them to call me a taxi so I could get to BIDC for my temporary veneers. That situation went great and I will get my permanent veneers on Tuesday the 9th. Once recommendation I can give you is that make sure when you ride in a taxi that it is indeed a meter taxi. When I left BIDC they sent me off in a non metered taxi and the driver tried to charge me 500 THB which is crazy considering that every other taxi I have been in that ride only was about 50 THB to and from hotel to the dental office! I have been giving my previous taxi drivers 100 THB for the ride as I like to tip well so when I finally talked the non metered taxi driver down to 100 THB I felt much better about the scenario but he definitely didn't get a tip! Not my style but I don't take well to someone trying to work me over.... So that's it for now. If anything else fun /weird / interesting happens before my next appointments I will be sure to write an update. Ta ta for now!
