Last days in Bangkok
Hello again... I just wanted to fill you in about my last few days during my cosmetic holiday to Bangkok Thailand. I had an absolutely amazing time. One of the things I really wanted to do while I was still there was to see some traditional Thai dancing so the Doctor and his wife recommended I see Siam Niramit. I was so grateful for Annie's company that I asked her if she wanted to join me and I told her I would buy her ticket. We decided that the best day to go would be Saturday so that is what we did. I went with the "Gold" seats as I am a firm believer in the notion that if you're gonna do something you might as well go all the way (actually I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in my first post) and seeing that a Cirque du Soleil ticket will run you about $150 per person for "normal" seating I figured that $150 for 2 premium tickets including dinner was quite a good deal. Anyways, upon arrival Annie surprised me and told me that the Dr. Pichet and his wife wanted to treat us and picked up our admission, this was 100% unexpected and wholeheartedly appreciated. I really can not express my sheer fondness and the respect I have for the entire staff at Bangkok Plastic Surgery. Everyone sincerely made me feel like I was part of their family and for that I am eternally indebted. The doctor's wife did inform Ann that the dinner the show serves is not very good and we should eat elsewhere but because I was running behind schedule we basically didn't have much of an option. Boy oh boy was she right by the way... Word to the wise, heed Mrs Dr. Pichet's advice: save your money and have dinner somewhere else. I paid 350 TBH per person and I think all we ate was some white rice and fruit LOL! Oh well, lesson learned. Next time I won't take so long to get ready and I say next time, because I will definitely go back and see that show again. It's stunningly spectacular and had everything I could have wished for when it came to traditional Thai dancing. What's even better, I learned a lot about the Thai culture which was a super bonus. It also helped I had Annie there as she was able to explain a lot to me throughout the show. The Thai culture is so beautiful, I am so happy we went. The following day Ann escorted me back to the JJ weekend market where we had the most delightful coconut ice cream and I did some of my most favorite shopping of the trip. In retrospect, the Platinum mall is a downright rip off. I saw a lot of the same merchandise at JJ that i purchased at the Platinum mall for sometimes one third of the cost. Another lesson learned and next time I plan to bring empty suitcases and stick to places like the night market and JJ weekend market. The shopping is PHENOMENAL. A true paradise for shopaholics like myself. Monday rolled around and I had the last adjustments of my new veneers over at BIDC, another practice that I can't say enough good things about. Particullary Dr Vichulada Phunthikaphadr and her assistant. If you want Perfect and NATURAL looking veneers they are your dream team! I am so ecstatic about my new smile I can't even begin to explain. I just have to spend some time practicing in the mirror how to smile again HAHA! It's been so many years of smiling without showing my teeth that I sometimes look like a gremlin in my recent attempts LOL... yeah it's gonna take some practice however I am not complaining in the least bit, it's a good chore to have. The next day was my last in Bangkok and it was rather bittersweet. I had my final meeting with the Doctor and staff at Bangkok Plastic Surgery. I actually felt really sad, I had made such great friends and what I consider to be a new extended family that I kinda didn't want to leave. Especially my new BFF Annie. I love that girl to pieces. We had so many great laughs, I can't wait until she comes to visit me in the US. While at the clinic, we decided that we were going to remove the stitches in my mouth. That went off without a hitch but when it came to the labia, well that was a whooole other story completely. Oh my gawwwwwwd!!!.. It felt like someone straight cutting up my poor little Venus Fly Trap looking vag HAHA! I couldn't handle it so they decided to just trim down the stitches and let them fall out naturally. The same went for the 3 sets of sutures in my browlift. The Doctor also decided it was best not to trim the stitches in my butt as I had a super long flight ahead of me that evening and I had already been through this same situation with the incision on my breast so trimming them on my own wouldn't be a problem. After all that was finished we proceeded to the lobby of the clinic where we took a plethora of pics with the staff and said our goodbyes. I was also able to snag Ann for one last shopping excursion as I was deadset on tracking down one of the traditional Thai crowns and all the matching accessories for a photoshoot. I did have to ship these items to myself as I had no room in my luggage whatsoever and was worried it would be damaged anyways. I'm so excited to get these beautiful pieces and do a photoshoot to pay homage to the exquisite culture that is now so near and dear to my heart. After that mission was accomplished Ann and I had lunch and we then went our separate ways. At 11:30 pm the doctor sent a limo to pick me up at the hotel and I was off to the airport to start my journey back to the United States. My flight departed around 2:30 am so the 3 hours was just the right amount of time I needed. And that's that.. I was off. My return flight was super long but really quite nice. I had pre-arranged wheelchair assistance because I had no clue what kind of shape I would be in only 2 weeks after surgery. This turned out to be a true blessing as security was a breeze and I didn't have to carry any of my bags. I also opted for a business class flight for my return home and I will say it was worth every penny. Emirates leaves not much to be desired in that department. 3 course meals, super comfortable lay-down beds and hands down the best entertainment options I have ever seen offered on a commercial airline. Customs was also a fairly simple task, I was a little worried about paying taxes on all the clothing and such I purchased during my stay but surprisingly enough, I didn't have to pay a dime. I even claimed that I bought about $350 worth of goods but they didn't seem to care. I think coming back through San Francisco may have had something to do with this because a friend did mention that they were very easy going in comparison to some of the other customs hubs. Glad I lucked out there. Anyways, that's about it... I had an amazing experience and will surely go back for some more dental work and laser resurfacing. I believe I made the right decision in going to Bangkok for all my procedures, not only was I able to get all of the surgeries I had wished for in one fell swoop but I have come to know some of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. I regret absolutely nothing and would recommend going to anyone who doesn't have 100's of thousands to drop on cosmetic surgery because believe it or not, Pichet Rodchareon M.D. is a true genius when it comes to plastic surgery. One of my friends even went as far as to say that it looks like Michelangelo has been reborn as a plastic surgeon. He really has done a beautiful job on me. I will update again in a few weeks with pics after the swelling has gone down in my chin and all of my procedures "settle in" until then... xoxo
Just a thought.
Today while I was cleaning my vag after a tinkle I decided that it looks like a pink Venus Fly Trap with all the white stitches poking out of the "lips" HAHA!!
That is all. Carry on.
That is all. Carry on.
...Gilded Cages and a Hello Kitty Salon...
I'm gonna try to keep this short and simple. I am so happy went through with all of my elected surgeries. My 1 week post op appointment with the Doctor was yesterday. Everything is looking great, well my chin is still swollen, but other than that, I'm really loving everything else. The doctor (well actually Pichet Rodchareon's wife) also sent me to this totally awesome high-end mall called the Emporium with Ann to get some beauty products I wanted to pick up. This place was RAD! They had PEACOCKS in gilded cages in a outdoor rooftop garden... I was mistaken in one of my prior posts about Thailand being kinda ghetto because this place was FAR FROM IT! Just like anywhere else in the World, there are ghettos as well as super nice areas, you just have to know where to go I guess. Anyways, Ann and I had lunch at a spectacular eatery where I discovered I sincerely love Thai green curry and the clinic footed the bill (extra score!). After our adventures in the largest luxury mall I had ever seen Ann returned back to work and I to my hotel. She is such a sweetheart and agreed to take me to a nail salon to get my nails filled and a pedicure after she finished her shift. Around 6:30 she met me at my hotel and she took me to the "night market" which was not to far from my hotel. This place is great too, definitely not the Emporium but I was actually able to do a little shopping here. The Emporium is great and all but I'm not trying to buy a $5,000 Chanel purse at the moment. Anyways, after checking out the shopping area a bit she took me to the coolest hair/nail salon I have ever seen. The whole place is decked out with Hello Kitty and everything is pink and white. I'm not even Joking, you have to go to this place... It's called Pepper Nail and it does not disappoint. I got a fill with a glitter gel polish french tip and a matching pedicure for about $50 which is a steal considering I pay upwards of $100 for the same back home. I also paid for Ann to get a pedicure because she's such a sweety and was nice enough to take me around even after her work shift ended. Her and I have actually become pretty good friends and chat on facebook all the time now. I'm so grateful to have made a friend and be able to have a conversation with someone as most the local people don't speak English that well. Ann is a true Godsend.... That's about it for now, I will do another update in a few days~
