Hi I travelled to bangkok from Auckland NZ on...

Hi
I travelled to bangkok from Auckland NZ on the 4th of March 2018 for breast revision and nipple lift. This was my second time travelling to bangkok for breast implants, my first set of implants were July 2013 at BNH hospital, no problems or issues with the first set implants and making the travel again to bangkok for a second time wasn’t a problem for me. I travelled with a friend to bangkok For my first breast implants trip but the second time I would be travelling alone for my second set of breast implants. I booked my own flights through Thai airways at $1200 return, I went through destination beauty to book my hotel, doctor and transfers. One good thing about destination beauty is they do not charge a surgery fee, you will come across a lot of beauty tours that will charge you 500 dollars for example, stunning makeovers, cosmedtour and gorgeous getaways just to name a few. The surgery fee doesn’t not cover the surgery fee it covers the ground work they do for you like booking hotels, flights etc but this can be done by yourself and destination beauty for free.
I arrived in Bangkok on the 4th march, went to gate 2 as advised to find my destination beauty driver waiting holding name boards with my name and another two ladies who were also arriving from New Zealand, Yah I was happy to meet another two lovely ladies who were booked for breast implants. We arrived at the Somerset hotel, the apartment was huge, clean and air conditioning was awesome. My surgery date had changed from the 5th to 6th of march at the last minute which was annoying but figure I could use this extra day to shop for my baby girl. My representative was Bow she was nice but her communication through emails and in person was not very good, lucky for her I knew what to expect, the downtime after surgery and hospital services etc. Big day arrived for breast revision and nipple lift, I arrived at Samitivej Thonburi hospital and was booked to have my surgery done with Dr. Ring Tanjapatkul. I had my blood tests and X-ray completed by 10am and was taken to the VIP suite. I meet with the doctor at 7pm for consultation and was in operating theatre at 8pm, the downtime waiting for surgery was boring and long but worth the wait due to the surgery results. I woke up around 11.30pm With surgery dressings and a sore throat, I was so happy the surgery was over and was finally allowed to drink, first thing I asked for was a coffee lol, I wasn’t keen on the food. I was given morphen every 4 hours for pain and nurses came to check on me etc. The language barrier was a bit frustrating but after a few hand signals they got what I was trying to say. The next day pain was minimal, I felt dizzy and sick from the morphen and general anaesthetic, walking around made me feel so much better and another coffee lol. Later that afternoon I was discharged and had booked a new hotel through destination beauty called the oaks hotel 5 star rating, with amazing food menu and a penthouse with two bathrooms. The next day I had an appointment with dr ring and a nurse who took the drains out, my boobs were swollen, perky and my nipples were huge but overall I was happy with the results.
I am now two weeks post op and have arrived back home, I’ve had no problems with infections and healing very well.
Cost factor was the reason why I travelled to bangkok the first time and the second time was because I had a good experience the first time. The only hard part for me was not seeing my daughter for 8 days and travelling alone but over coming those hurdles I can confirm I was sweet and don’t regret it. A few things that may help you if you do decide to take the plunge for surgery
Take carry on luggage, you won’t have to wait for your suitcase, or worry about it going missing or other setbacks.
Book flights through Thai airways , direct flights to your destination with no stops makes the travelling alone that much easier. Thai airways had so much leg room in economy, friendly staff and nice food.
Book hotel, transfers and doctors through destination beauty and ask for the oaks hotel
Change your money in Thailand at Super Rich also destination beauty can call the super rich company to come see you and change for you. See their website for rates before you leave you can use currency converter on website
https://www.superrichthailand.com/
I travelled with cash to avoid bank fees and cards have daily limits , you can enter Thailand with foreign currency upto 20 thousand
The total price for my surgery was 7300 nzd, I had a nipple lift and breast implants revision.
I had 450cc implants over the muscle
A nipple lift is a mini breast lift ask for more information about this procedure if you are not keen on a full breast lift.
I had to have my breast implants redone due to breast feeding for two years, the shape and placement of my implants had changed, my breasts looked saggy and the implant was sitting higher on my chest, breastfeeding 100 percent affected my breast implants after breast feeding. Get breast implants if you are done breast feeding or don’t plan too.
I also hired a private driver for one day in bangkok to take me shopping, I googled private drivers in Bangkok and the cost was 1600baht which works out to be 85nzd, I hired a private driver because the taxi drivers I found were shady, over priced because you were a tourist and felt because I was a female travelling alone I had to be cautious over the smallest things too. The private driver was friendly and it was like having a bodyguard he would wait while I was shopping and watch over me. Best 80 dollars I spent
I am happy with the results, doctor and trip. I would recommend anyone who is deciding to have surgery over in Bangkok, I have had surgery twice in Bangkok and due to my experiences I have referred a few people to bangkok and they have also had amazing results like myself.
There are risks you take when travelling for surgery but the same risks can apply when you have your surgery done at home like double bubble and capsular contracture but researching and asking your doctor what can be done to avoid these problems.
Bangkok being a third world country can have many people question your decision for surgery but it’s not necessarily the doctor has third world skills, or the hospitals and hotels are inadequate. My experience with all these factors were amazing and would go again for my third breast surgery when needed.
Wish you well on your Boobie journey
