WORTH IT
Hi everyone,
I was so excited when I found out that I could get this surgery covered by my medical assistance and at 100% covered. So this was even more motivation for me to get the surgery. I had been to my pc twice got approval and was scheduled within a month. Surgery was done 4/28/15! I am 20days post op now and I must say it went well after surgery I was not in a lot of pain slept on the coach for the first week n some days. Worst part was the drains, measuring them and removal thank goodness they were removed the Friday after surgery. I just removed my steri strips because I noticed a funny smell from them being on so long and per my doctor I have started scar massage and applying some antibiotic ointment to where the odor was coming from. Please feel free to ask me anything!! If your thinking about getting it done I say go for it! Best feeling!

That is great!! I know you feel relieved. I have been trying for a short time and was denied by my insurance. Which insurance do you have and did you go to physical therapy for back problems?

keep trying! I went to my PC twice about back pain under Maryland physicians care and got the referral and my surgeon did a good letter for the insurance. No physical therapy at all.

Hey adi am having mines done this coming Thursday May 21st. How did You know what type of bra to buy and the size. I have no info from my doc or the office. How are you doing now. Your doc did a great job. I am super nervous.
May 20, 2015
I bought a bra, but I am still in the hospital bra. U don't need to run out and get them before.

I have a question if u don't mind. I have BC/BS and also had 4 letters from four different doctors saying I would greatly benefit from having a reduction due to how large they are and that I have such a bad neck also had surgery in my back but did not get approved. Do you know what your letter said? I'm so happy for you:)

i was denied with Aetna. My doc told me that BCBS would prob approve me so I was considering changing. What is your cup size?

1 month post op officially today!

My recovery has been absolutely perfect! My swelling is gradually going down its still a bit boxy but everyone can tell the difference between 2 weeks and now almost 5 weeks post op. My scars are healing so well it almost appears that there is going to be no visible incision line. I am so pleased. My surgeon purposely placed some of the sutures to be left outside of the skin for better healing and I must say he did right! I go back to him in a month for a check up. I can go get fitted for a bra now but was advised to maybe wait a few more weeks since the swelling isn't completely gone and the breast will change still. At 3 months I can go back to underwire bras!! Pics below!

Excuse the redness just took a hot shower lol but I wanted everyone to see my healing on my incisions! They are already starting to fade. I use bio oil as my scar massage moisturizer it can be purchased at Walmart. :)
