I never thought I would look so great at 55.... I am five months out of surgery and have gone from a 40H+ to a 34DDD. I had a tummy tuck, body lift, breast lift and reduction. I have gone from a size 18 top and 16 bottom to a 14 top and 10 bottom--and I am still getting smaller. I have lost 30 pounds since surgery--have 20 more to go to be what I was before my thyroid issue. I have begun jogging and will be adding weights shortly. I have a waist again, a great butt and breasts that are proportional to my body. I didn't realize that I had lost part of my personality in all that weight gain. With the surgery..... I am back...and it is great to feel so good...and look so amazing.

Great to see your update! I am so happy for you. And that is great news that you have lost so much weight since surgery. I am jealous. Trying to lose weight, but it has been a struggle. Hope you continue to feel great.

I use a website that is free to use...caloriecount.com It has been very effective---when I put in all the foods I eat and the exercise I do. When I forget to put it in, my weight loss slows.

I was really happy to find someone of the same age who has had this kind of surgery as I am in the process of starting on my journey (my 1st consultation next week). It's encouraging that you are so positive and that you have lost more weight. Thanks for posting your journey it has really really encouraged me.

I also had a fabulous surgeon---which makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Schreiber is amazing!....I had other people with similar surgeries at similar times...and none of their surgeries went as smoothly as mine did. Keep in touch...I would love to hear how you do.

All I can say is that you will be VERY happy when the surgery is over and you have your body back. I went from a size 18 top and 14 bottom to a 14 top and 8 bottom. I think I may go down one more size....just due to healthy eating and being able to exercise again. Just make sure you get a great surgeon and you will be amazed!

Hi - I just went from a 40HH to a 40DD 2 weeks ago. Others told me to go to a D but I wanted the fullness in a cup just not the pain of huge breasts. Problem is they look tiny to me now. I noticed originally you said you were a DD but now are a DDD postop. Was this the natural drop or bottom out effect I've heard about? Also I lost 25 pds before surgery and I'm trying to lose another 25 pds post surgery but am scared how it will effect my breasts I.e. Make them smaller. It's been hard to find anyone in a similar boat as me - would you let me know what happened in your case?

I ended up being a 40 DD after the swelling went down....I was a 44 G or H...before surgery. I continue to exercise and it has little effect on my breast size. People asked me why I didn't go smaller than DD...and I didn't want to be too small...DD is great. If I could find a 38 DDD it would probably fit better...but that size bra is difficult to find. Keep exercising...and eating healthy....your breast size shouldn't get much smaller. M

Thanks so much for responding - I appreciate it. People keep asking me the same thing- and I answer the same way you do. After spending most of my life in a H, I thought that emotionally it would be better to be a DD. I'm still in the swollen post-op phase and glad to know there will be a drop effect in my future. Strange I know, but I would like to have the curves just not the weight or the pain. Will continue my healthy life agenda to lose the last 25 lbs once cleared by Doc. Thank you so much - its very encouraging and uplifting to find someone that has gone through this (especially in the DD postop) and is happy and healthy with her decision!

I have been using bio-oil as well as some silicone tape. The tape I have is called scar away. I really like the oil; but it does seem like the tape will make more of a difference. By the way, how is work going for you?

seven weeks out

FINALLY....I had my last of four drains removed. I go back from my last appointment in May. I emptied my closet this week....of the clothes that no longer fit. My closet is almost empty.

I had no idea that I would get this thin....so I gave away my smaller clothes....which means I have hardly anything that fits me. While getting new clothes will be exciting.....I am still shocked at my size. I have lost 21 pounds (including the 10 removed at surgery)....in seven weeks.

I have 25-30 pounds more to lose to be where I was before my thyroid went crazy. At the rate I am going.....I am going to hit that goal in less than six months. I feel like I am in a dream....

I am so happy...with the results that it is hard to put into words.
