I am having liposuction performed on my inner thighs, belly, arms and flanks next month. I am looking to see if there is anyone around my age that has gone through this procedure on any or all of these body parts. If so, how was your experience? When did you see the final results? How long did it take to heal? How long did it take for the swelling to subside? How was the scarring? Did you use any product on the scars to lighten them? When were you able to walk around and resume normal activity? How long were you out of work?

In my late 20's I had liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and hips with fat grafting to the breast...twice!! Everyone heals different so no one can give you the exact answer. Patience is best. Understand it will be painful and more it will be uncomfortable. The compression garments become annoying after a few weeks but they are EXTREMELY important to the end result. It's all about getting the best result so you don't have lumps or uneven healing. Shouldn't be out of work more than a week but listen to your body. The scars are tiny, usually less than an inch long but I still used Maderma once stitches healed. The swelling can take up to six months to completely subside. In fact if you're happy with the results after a couple of months feel great because the results will only continue to improve over time. For exercise it's good to listen to your doctor but more to your body. This is your body and your money. Look at it as a long term investment. If it means waiting an extra month to workout to heal correctly it's worth it for the money you spent to get the result you want. I hope this helps...

Okay! Surgery has been scheduled with Dr. Larry Lickstein at Belecara Surgery Center NEXT week. I am very nervous!!!! But, I am extremely excited to get my high school body back. I am by no means overweight but I am looking to contour and perfect my frame in the way that exercising and eating habits haven't been able to. I will be posting pre-op pictures by Tuesday.
