Christian Mom in Need of Advice

ORIGINAL POST

Hey everyone! Are there any other Christian ladies...

Kelly2589
Hey everyone! Are there any other Christian ladies out there? I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. I'm a single mom who's abdomen has been through a lot. I have one beautiful daughter who is my world. I gained 60 lbs over the pregnancy and have successfully lost it all. I have the c-section scar tissue and 17 years worth of insulin injections. Is it selfish for me to want an abdominoplasty? I feel guilty, yet I would love for my clothes to fit better. I keep battling with myself and going back and forth. Any advice is welcome! Thank you ????

Hi there Kelly, yes I am a christian as well! I do not feel it is selfish at all to want an abdominoplasty. I believe that the Lord has blessed us with these doctors who desire to help people to feel better about themselves. As a single mom, you do alot! If you feel better about your appearance, you feel more confident in all aspects of your life. You've done a great job of losing all that pregnancy weight and I think you should go ahead with the surgery. I will keep you in my prayers!

I agree with the others! If you can afford it without hurting your finances, then talk to the doctor. You need to be happy with yourself. Not selfish, louiseReed is correct, these doctors have a God given talent and desire to help people be the best they can be. You deserve it. Just remember, it is a hard surgery for most women and if you are diabetic, your recovery may be slower. Factor that into your decision please. Talk to the doctor before you make your final choice.

5 More Days!

Kelly2589
Hey everyone! So I only have 5 days to go! I can't believe it's almost here. I've been really nervous the past few days. Is that normal? I just hope everything goes smoothly. I know I'll feel so much better once it's done. I just get scared knowing I'm a single mom and the thought of surgery just freaks me out. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with anxiety? Thank you all so much :)

Yes, it is normal to be nervous. Use that energy to cook food and freeze it and make sure your house is the way you want it. If it is not too hot, go out for walks, your doctor will want you to rest after the surgery. Make sure you have what you need for after surgery. Kimmers25 has lots of info about what you need and what to expect. Very helpful info. Spend time with your daughter. Remind her you may be grouchy or emotional after surgery. You will do fine. If things didn't turn out well, none of us would be having surgery. We will be praying for you.
