The reason I wanted a tummy tuck was because I wanted to get rid of my stretch marks and be able to wear bikini with worrying of my pooch, but now I can't wear a bikini two piece because of this additional vertical scar. What can I do about as far as legal and also is there a possibility to fix it, my surgeon says it will fade out like the horizontal one, but I'm afraid if won't fade out . I'm very disappointed in my ftt... My surgeon said that he mentioned to me that he wouldn't be able to pull my belly button down..and I don't recall him saying that to me. After I got out of surgery...he said everything went well but didn't mention that he wasn't able to pull my belly button all the way down..till I discovered it two days after my tt was done. I was very disappointed when I saw the result with the vertical scar...we made an appointment to discuss my unhappiness with my result and he pretty much told me to deal with it...I don't know what to do..can I get my money back ?

I am sorry to hear about your disappointment after tummy tuck surgery. Given, that you are only six days out of surgery, I would ask that you do your best to exercise patience and stay emotionally even keeled. It is very likely that you will be much happier with the outcome of surgery many months from now than you are today. Generally, it may take up to a year for patients to see the final outcome of the procedure performed. If, in the longer term you are not pleased, revisionary tummy tuck surgery may be helpful to you. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with longer-term. Tom J Pousti M.D.

I see that we went to the same surgeon. I do remember having a conversation with Dr. Lehocky about my incision. I previously had a
C section and I asked if he could ensure to make my incision as low as possible so that it can be concealed easily. His response was what I think an "honest response". He told me there really isn't a way to guarantee anything until he's actually doing the surgery. He said once the skin is cut, the location of the scar highly depends on the elasticity of the skin. If he has the room to bring the skin as far "south" as possible then great, but if he cant, he has to work with what he has. You and I had our procedures done pretty close to eachother and I'd suggest to remain optimistic. I wish you the very best in your recovery (because this was no walk in the park lol)

It looks like you have a great result. I think over time you will see amazing things. You're scar should fade and all swelling subside. How are you liking it now?
