Hello JouJou27 I enjoyed your journey, how does this cushion feel. I work at a desk, and sit most of the day. Looking for something to use at work. Thanks for sharing your journey.

3 Months Post-Op Review & Update

So it's finally 3months since my surgery & the worry that I'll lose any fat to absorption is over. With the exception of the 8hrs I sit at work on a gel cushion I ordered, I hadn't been putting pressure on my bottom. I drive with the foam half-circle under my thighs & I still sleep on my stomach. I feel like one side is softening quicker than the other...but on my 3-month mark I started driving without the foam & trying to put more pressure on my bottom since it seems to be extra sensitive now. Even using the cushion at work causes an ache in my butt & my tailbone. My lipo'd areas are also starting to soften but the sensations I feel on my torso are still not normal. I itch a little less now, but when I workout & I break into a sweat, there is an intense burning/itching sensation that is unbearable if I don't have an antihistamine in my system. I am pleased with the outcome with the exception of a couple of spots that hopefully resolve themselves as I heal.

I commented on ur post but they're not visible at all. I can feel them though. 3-4weeks after surgery I felt & saw it on the right side (major flat spot)...then a month or so later, it started dropping & getting softer & less noticeable to touch & not visible at all. It's barely there now, but the same thing happened a few wks later to the left side. I don't know if it's part of the healing process but as long as it goes away, I'm ok. And yes, lots & lots of squats. Borderline obsessive, lol. 220/day

Thanks. I never asked while I was down there bc I was jus concerned with getting better....but my post-op paper work says 1400cc's. I'm kinda glad I didn't read them til about a month after I had the surgery bc I would've obsessed about getting too much.

I started work'g out about 3wks ago. I have a trainer so I explained everything 2him & he had me on 30min workouts focusing on legs & butt bc I still won't lay to workout...which means no ab's really. Plus there's still swelling on my torso, so I figure what's the point. I did diet to lose some of the weight I gained for the surgery, but that was also a gamble bc some doctors say no fat lost at 6wks some say 3mos. So I went with 3mos 2b safe by not puttin undue pressure on it. And since it was bigger than I wanted when I came home I figured losing a few lbs wouldn't hurt. I wore a size 27, pre-surgery gain. I wore a 29 when I went dwn there & I'm back in a 27...with no room n that back, lol. Also I jus started tryin jeans on bc I didn't want to put pressure on it...I know, I'm obsessive. Note: I didn't wear the garment but I fnd that the spanx compression tights helped me transition from wearing the garment to stopping. They have a higher waist & not as uncomfy.

Also when u first went back to the gym did u wear you garment ?

2b honest...I stopped wearing my garment around 9wks. I was off wrk for 7wks, so I had plenty of time 2explore the pro/cons of the garment (which was extremely uncomfortable). The general consensus was that most doctors believe after the 1st few wks it really doesn't chg anything. If ur doctor contoured u wrg, a garment isn't gonna chg it. I realized I was only the perfect "8" shape after taking off the garment bc my body had the impression of the garment...so, I stopped wearing it. For a while it made my skin feel normal, but once some of my swelling went dwn & it stopped burning when I had it off, I ditched it. Don't follow my example tho...I was rolling the dice.

Great Roller

User Avatar
Joujou27
At my final doctors visit, Dr. Salama told me he wanted me to start using a heating pad for 5-10min & then begin to roll my lipo'd areas with a rolling pin. My mother found me this really cool rolling pin a few days ago at Kitchen Kapers, that looks as if it were made to roll skin, not dough. I've been using it after using the heating pad as well as in the shower. Anyway, I thought I'd post a pic of it since it's been working so well & the rolling does actually smooth out my skin.

Thanks for the compliment & good luck with ur upcoming surgery. You will love it at the recovery house. It's great to be with ppl who are going thru the same experience & the ppl there to help who have experience dealing with this recovery, which can be difficult. You will love, love, love Liz...I miss her & my housemates so much.
