Hard lump in both buttocks plus continued pain
$9,999
I've continued to have pain and just a general feeling of being "uncomfortable" while sleeping or laying in bed. My hip area and buttocks are both bothersome...STILL! And previously I was feeling what I thought was a lump forming on one cheek-- I continued to have close friends and my doctor feel the area of concern and everyone was saying they weren't really feeling much. But I think that's because they weren't feeling "deep" enough.
Today I woke up and I can DEF feel that same lump and it's 100% there; without a doubt-- I'm planning on seeing my family practice doctor next week just to see what they can do about it. Also on the other cheek I can feel a lump but that one is much smaller. Luckily at the moment I can only FEEL these lumps and they aren't visible. I'm hoping for no more infections and/or complications.
But I obviously don't want hard lumps in my butt :'( Again-- I wish I never did this. Or if I did...I wouldn't of chosen Dr. Salama!! I still have yet to hear a single word from the staff at "Elite" plastic surgery or the doctor. No surprise there! Completely horrible & shameful!!!!!

Multiple infections from Dr. Salama
The abscess that formed over my left lymph node in my groin area, is still continuing to drain and is red. Thankfully the size of it has gone down exponentially since being cut open and drained. It however still is not flat and is slightly raised. My family practice doctor could feel under the skin that the area was very hard and told me to do daily massages on the area. It's still very hard & draining :-/ Still on antibiotics which I've been on for id say about two months now-- not including the ones I was on for surgery. I can not wait to feel completely healthy & normal again. The scars I'll now have and indentation in my hip will have to be fixed somehow. Along with an isolated area on one butt cheek that I never had prior that looks like varicose veins-- NOT stretch marks. The amount of money I've dished out for this surgery & now medical bills, doctor apts, at home nursing, and future procedures to correct Dr. Salama's work. UGH! I could just scream ladies!!!!! And no-- no one at "Elite" plastic surgery has contacted me. They really should look into changing the name of their facility. Because nothing is "Elite" about their establishment. Not their bedside manners, not their office, not their staff, and not their tiny little crappy operating room. You'll see for yourself the day of surgery.

I I hate that happened to you. I had a horrible experience with them too. I didn't get an infection tho. I paid to have a few areas of lipo done at the same time as my main surgery. My outer thighs, my posterior thighs, and knees. I know for a fact he didn't do my my outer thighs or posterior thighs. In fact, he made my outer thighs bigger with a fat transfer. I had surgery in Jan and have yet to receive a refund. Not only that they push a blood transfusion on you for $500 more dollars. I refused the transfusion. After surgery they informed me I needed a transfusion. The way they say they do the transfusion is a autologous blood transfusion. Working in the medical field I know that that means you donate a unit of your own blood. So I find out they use the blood from your fat. My regular doctor warned me that could be dangerous bc of the possibility of fat getting in your blood stream. I asked Dr Salama what my H&H was...I wanted to know what led them to believe I needed the transfusion I refused. His response "I looked like I needed one." so, come to find out every girl in the recovery house "looked like they needed a blood transfusion." Sounds like [RS bleep] to me. Also, after surgery I never saw or heard from Dr Salama again. I stayed at the recovery house for over a week after surgery. He didn't call, he didn't text, he didn't peep in the room during my post op visits. He didn't see any of the girls in the recovery house. Not even one of us. I have never had a doctor who couldn't take 2 mins out of their day to make sure there patient is ok. Choosing him was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I can't even post pictures bc I'm too embarrassed of what I look like now. I would say choose any doctor except him. You'll be better off.
Wow. This is terrible. I am considering booking him for July but now I don't know. Did he allow you to "refuse" the transfusion?
Wow, I have 2 friends that has had surgery by him, 1 being there now and is experiencing the total opposite. I'm sorry you are going through this. You do have a right to question your medical care.
I refused the transfusion. He couldn't tell me why I needed it. I'm sorry but "it looks like you did" doesn't work for me. I worked in a lab and in he ER for 15+years and that doesn't fly. If someone is getting a blood transfusion you can beat believe they know what their hemoglobin & hematocrit are, hun. Also my plastic surgeon back in my home town (he did my boobs but stopped doing the bbl procedure that's the only reason I came to Miami for that) told me that spinning the fat down and harvesting the blood from that could be a total disaster. He said it wasn't safe. Everyone in that recovery house ended up with the blood. I guess everyone looked like they needed it. Ha NOT!! He also didn't do the extra lipo I paid for. I paid extra money for my outer thighs, my inner thighs and my posterior thighs. He didn't do my outer or my posterior thighs and I have yet to get a refund. When I got back home from surgery I'd say about a week after I returned I went to the surgeon I mentioned above and asked him to examine my legs to see if my allegations were correct. He said that I did not have lipo on my outer or posterior thighs and he did very very little on my inner. He also said he added more volume to my hips which I specifically told him I didn't want. My hips were big enough. You have the right to refuse anything you don't want done. I told him if I needed a transfusion to send me to the nearest hospital. Bc to me if you need to be transfused you're basically knocking on death's door. If I'm fixing to die I damn sure don't want to be at the doctor's little shitty [RS bleep] operating room. Oh and if you're looking for a doctor to seem like he cares about you or his other patients don't go to him. Other than the morning of surgery I never saw him nor did I talk to him again. I didn't see him at any of my post ops either. I stayed at the recovery for about a week or two he never came to the house to check on any of us. We all had to go get massages after surgery and they were done in his office. The first one was 2 days after surgery I think. He never popped in to see how we were, he never called. Nothing. Seriously, he didn't contact not one of the girls that were in the house at the same time as me. I would suggest going to Dr Calva. I think that's his name. He gave a friend of mine a bbl and her results were great and he actually listens to what you say and addresses any issues or fears you have. Bc at preop with dr Salama he didn't even make eye contact. Not once. I was trying to tell him the goals that I had for my journey and he rolled his eyes several times, cut me off while I was speaking. I've never been treated like that in my life. I'm extremely polite too. I didn't do anything for him to treat me that way. If I could have canceled my surgery that morning I would have just bc of his attitude alone. But once you pay you can't get anything back. Be careful girl. I wish you Good luck on this journey. Regardless of who you pick!! ❤️✌
Well I'm glad they are having good experiences. Maybe he's having a good week. :) I hope your friends recover nicely. Also tell your friends to wait a couple of months before they give their review. I hope they don't, but they could end up like this girl with the infection that popped up like 2 months after surgery.
Dang. Yeah I can't go to Dr. Salama after reading this. Lemme see Dr. Calva's work and reviews. I also have a consult with Dr. Shifrin in Chicago next week. Thanks for the heads up!
Yes ma'am!! I don't want anyone else to experience this. There are too many other great surgeons out there who really care about their patients. These are the docs we should seek out. Pay attention to those reviews. That's where you'll get the real truth. ❤️ good luck, sweetheart!!
1 of my friends is over 6 months :) and no complications. I'll be sure to educate my friend now. Thanks
You're so welcome :-/
how did you come out any more complications
How are you?
Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. Haven't been on here in a while. My hip has finally healed but I have a scar and indentation. But I'm on antibiotics once again BC my lymph node in my groined area that got infected and had to be cut open & drained...that healed. But now just a little lower I have another hard lump. So we are hoping antibiotics will get rid of whatever infection is in my body. I'm also experiencing a lot of pain in my buttocks and hips. It's uncomfortable when I'm sleeping at night and driving BC I have these lumps I've started to feel pop up everywhere! Some are smaller, some are bigger. I just got an ultrasound done on my buttocks, hips and lymph nodes to see hopefully what the heck is going on now. It's been one thing after another w this whole experience! I wish to GOD I never did this.

YET ANOTHER INFECTION!!!! ????????
Yes...I am NOT joking you. Another infection ???? While being hospitalized for nearly a week for the infection I received to my left hip from Dr. Salama's BBL surgery, my left lymph node in my groined area was inflamed and HUGE! At the time doctors said it would go down and it was just fighting off infection. After being on IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics for a month and a half my lymph node in my groined area was STILL swollen, red, and extremely extremely painful! I'd say it was a bit smaller than the size of a ping-pong ball under my skin and bulging out. It obviously became worrisome because as my hip is slowly healing my lymph node was still just as inflamed as it was in the hospital. In the meantime I emailed Dr. Salama's office and yet again they were un-phases by any and ALL of the ordeals I've had to suffer under his hands. They told me it would go away. Believing none of this...I went to visit my family practice doctor to get it checked out and she said right away that it was an abscess and it looked CLEARLY infected by how red it was. I had to be stuck so many times I can't even tell you just to numb the area...each time I could feel the blade so they had to give me more injections of lidocaine. Soooo painful ???? finally I was numb and she was able to make an incision to drain the area. And WOW was there a LOT of puss draining! Immediately the swollen area went down considerably but now the skin underneath is hard and still bulging somewhat. I have gauze and bandages over it and it's still draining. Yuck! Boy....choosing Dr. Salama was clearly the wrong choice. All of this I've gone through & ZERO support from him or his staff. I'm so over being on antibiotics and having one thing after another pop up due to this surgery. I'm so fed up!

Sorry about your experience! Be positive these things can always during any surgery and the important thing is you recover well !
Can...but they shouldn't of all of the proper precautions were taken. And that's doubtful given as many botch surgeries I've now read from the surgeon who did my BBL. Be sure to read my entire review also hun. Thanks.
Should *IF*^ all of the...
You didn't read the review at all. The girl was clearly suffering from infection and has been in the hospital and perhaps lost all the fat after 3 month post surgery. Clearly she is not recovering well. Smh

This is someone who went through a similar situation. Might not be the same thing though. I hope you are better now hon.

Thank you for reading my entire review. Clearly she didn't.
Thanks for sharing! I did check out her review/photos. Still not sure if my case on my left hip was just fat necrosis or what. Frustrating!!
Thank you for reading my entire review hun. Clearly she didn't.
I am looking for a good doctor who does bbl revision and I asked a couple of women experienced bbl doctors for the reason behind infection and they suspect that it is due to dead fat and it is technique dependent. Perhaps Dr Salama did not purify and select the good fat for optimal survival and less complications? It is true that plastic surgery is business but it is simply powered because of our demands. It is always good to read bad reviews because you could be that person and hammer the doctor with questions.
Yes this is very true. A lot of infection can be dependent upon bad technique.
I am so sorry you aregoing through all of this still. Hugs. Stay positive and belief that everything will turn out well. Xoxo
Thank you again for your continued support. Xoxo
Did you ever find out what kind of infection was in the drainage from both areas? What type of antibiotics did they put on?
I still have yet to have an answer as to what type of infection was on my hip. Now as far as my lymph node goes in my left groin area-- I should be having some sort of results back soon. I've been on so many antibiotics for probably two months now, IV and oral -- currently I'm on Doxy.
Hello Doll, I've been checking up on you. Your story helps others. I am currently in allot of pain. Inflammation above my buttock hurts, i went to a massage therapist and described my pain. That lump is hard and radiating heat. Im currently taking I Ibuprofen 800 mg because I actually have chills. I know I have a fever my massage therapist also told me that my lymph node was swollen. I'm not peeing like I used to. I'm starting to get paranoid.
Oh no babe. Don't want to scare you. But if there is a lump and the area feels warm to the touch that is NOT a good sign. Also the fact you are having chills is not either, also check for a temperature. I'd go see a doctor asap! This sounds like the start of possible fat necrosis or an infection. Get on antibiotics just in case. You can also have a scan done of the area bothering you and they can look for any areas that may be forming underneath the skin. Try and catch anything that may be happening before it becomes worse. Because in my case if I knew these signs to look out for maybe I could of gotten on antibiotics and such ahead of time and I wouldn't of ended up with a gaping hole on my hip. Who knows. Feel better and get a doctors opinion. And believe it or not the first time I went to the ER the doctor didn't take me seriously and discharged me that same day! He also never even ran my blood to even look at my white blood cell counts! What's an idiot. He should be fired. I went back just a couple days later BC the hole was becoming larger and the doctor at the ER that day was like "HOLY COW! You need to be admitted right away". That's when I spent almost a week in the hospital. So always get diff opinions. Some won't take your case seriously.
Thank you so much, I did come to the doctors office and they immediate put an IV along with antibiotics.! He will call in a prescription for antibiotics so I can continue regimen at home.
Ok great!!!
