What to bring (and what not to) and why!
WORTH IT$7,299
What to bring:
GAUZE - TONS since you lay on your front drain site it is constantly leaking for about 5 days after surgery.
MEDICAL TAPE- tape gauze in place
CHUX PADS - make sure they are thick and absorbent for the same reason as above
SET OF SHEETS - if you are an out of towner just in case you stain the place you are staying at.
DIAL ANTIBACTERIAL BODY WASH - This is what you will be cleaning yourself with the night before surgery as well as the following weeks.
BACK SCRATCHER - Trust me...it comes in handy to itch your back and legs and also reach for things.
SEAMLESS TIGHT TSHIRTS - for under garment. Either get sleeves or tanks with thick straps, no spaghetti straps.
LAXATIVE SUPPOSITORY - I know it sounds gross but trust me, no matter how many colace pills you take, or how perfect you eat, you will be crying your eyes out over not being able to poop and the emergency feeling that you have to. Like trying to push a baseball through a drinking straw >_< This literally works wonders.
ARNICARE CREAM - really helped with the pain of my hematomas from leg lipo
PILL ORGANIZER - makes life easier!
A LONG ROBE - they basically require you to have this for surgery
PADS / TAMPONS - pads for areas of your garment that is digging in (inevitable with the amount of swelling) and tampons because you may start your period randomly!
BBL PILLOW - if you are flying in...I don't like the boppy and you probably won't either.
SHE-WEE / P EZ - omg you have to....you will literally spray pee everywhere iF you don't
FLUSHABLE WET WIPES - your butt cheeks are now so close together and you can't spread them so you need to clean up and good.
ANTIBACTERIAL WIPES - you will get blood allover the toilet no matter how carefully you are with your drains.
BENADRYL - for itching and sleeping
SHOWER PUFF ON A STICK - you can't reach your legs when showering.
CEPACOL - numbing lozenges for the throat after surgery ( from tube during surgery)
WHAT I DIDNT NEED -
ARNICA PILLS - did literally nothing, get the cream!
PINEAPPLE BROMELAIN - Stuff is a joke... Had to get an RX bc the swelling was so uncomfortable
SHOWER HOOKS - for drains, these were pathetic and fell right off the wall. I had a curtain in the shower that I clipped the drains to or you can get a headband and put it around your thigh or just have someone hold them for you.
THERMOMETER - you'll be fine lol...
STERILE Q-TIPS - didn't need
CLOTHES - oh lord you DO NOT need a bunch of clothes. I way over packed. I didn't wear underwear even once, or pants. I wore a maxi dress one time to the mall (which was rather regrettable going out and walking a bunch) but all other times I was freeballin in my garment or in my robe. Most girls wear the robe literally the entirety of their stay.
ICE PACKS - did not use
CHAIR WITH HOLE TO POOP OVER TOILET - roll up a towel around the toilet seat to cushion it for when you just can't squat anymore.
ADULT WASHCLOTHS - your ass is getting in the shower. Every day. Starting the day after surgery.
COMPRESSION SOCKS - they provide them to you before you go into surgery and they do not let you use your own.

UPDATED FROM toughcookie143

Feeling completely different
I had a chance to talk to another girl the day I wrote my last update, and she said it was completely normal to be hysterical on day 4 and 5, especially when coming off pain meds. The nurses and doctors assured me the same thing and by day 6 I was perfectly fine.
The swelling has gone down a lot but still have a ways to go. This pic was at 8 days post and I'm loving it!!! Soooo worth it.
