So I have been self-conscious of my large love handles and flat butt since I was 14 years old. My way of giving myself confidence was by wearing butt pads all these years. I tried working out but was never happy with my shape. Also trying to hide butt pads from boyfriends and being uncomfortable with myself naked has always been a heavy burden. When I found out about this procedure I knew I wanted it done.
I am happy I chose Dr. Salama and his team. I had my concerns with post-op complications (such as burns, lumpiness, etc.) and expressed these concerns with Dr. S. He is known for his aggressive liposuctioning to get his amazing results but I asked him to not be so aggressive with me, that I'd rather he left behind a little fat and let me deal with it in the gym, if it meant lowering the risk of these complications. I am not a big girl, before I started gaining weight I was 5'4.5'' and 125 lbs, pre-op I was 150 lbs. My goal was not to have a ridiculous unrealistically large butt, but rather to just be better proportioned. He did exactly what I asked: he wasn't very aggressive with the lipo yet was still able to graft 1000cc per side (hip and cheek) and I came out perfectly fine, no burns, no lumps (as of yet, although I am still only about a week out and still swollen). I am VERY pleased with my results.
The team has been absolutely amazing and helpful, in particular I’d like to mention Nancy who helped me through the whole before surgery process. As for Dr. S himself, he is very professional and knows his trade very well, I just wish I was able to spend more time with him before my surgery (I didn't meet him until the day of my surgery). Also, I wish I was fully warned about how painful and how recovery intensive this procedure is. I will admit these things are largely my own fault because I was an out of town patient and didn't request a phone conference because I just assumed I'd meet him at least the day before. Also, I did not try to contact past patients to see how their recovery was. Another thing is that reading about someones pain is one thing, but actually experiencing it is a whole other world. I'd warn anyone who wants to do this to really ensure that they fully understand what they are getting themselves into. It's been very hard on me, as well as my boyfriend who has been taking care of me, and if it wasn't for him I have no idea how I would have gotten through this. As for my final result, I still have months before it makes itself known, but I can only take one day at a time and hope for the best.

I forgot to mention Nomie and Eilyeen who were an amazing help after my surgery... Eilyeen for putting up with my whining during my first 2 massages and Nomie for putting up with all my concerns before and after the surgery. They were awesome.
