Thus far all dealings with the office have exceeded my expectation with timeliness, courtesy and professionalism. I have yet to interact with the doctor other than his comments via email. Very hopeful and anticipating a great experience.

Garments, life and progress

12 weeks is how long we are expected to stay in the garment. Dr. Salamas office sent me home in a garment and home with a smaller one. Lipo Express was the brand. Putting a girl who just had cosmetic surgery in a garment labeled 5x sure doesn’t have a positive impact on ones psyche. I got over it but was appalled. Have never itched so bad in my life. Even wearing an undershirt, every area itches unmercifully. Because there’s only a slit in the crotch, the combo of that, with drain tubes and being on antibiotics- I got the worst yeast infection ever. My primary doc said was likely fueled by the fact there was no airflow. So we tried to cut the garment- BAD idea- without the downward tension it had some bunching which was not good for comfort or shaping purposes.

I ordered a Marena garment (according to their sizes I was a 2x). I paid the fast shipping and have never been more comfortable while being squeezed in a garment. It is crotchless, so plenty of ventilation and no need for the pee funnel! The material is much more comfy and I don’t even have to wear a shirt under it. This is a plus as none of my dress shirts have a T-shirt neckline. This garment is making it where I can comply with the instructions and I’m thrilled.

As far as life goes- I flew home on Day 6, showed houses on day 7 and drove my self for the first time on Day 15. I feel like I could’ve driven sooner but can’t ambulate really well in case of emergency. I’m in no pain unless I cough or sneeze. Steri-strips are still hanging on some spots and I’m letting them until my Embrace Scar Therapy comes in. Had my lymphatic massage consult on Tuesday (2 weeks post op) and have first massage today. She said she doesn’t expect it should be super painful so going in unmediated. I can’t lay completely flat yet and it’s still a struggle to get out of bed. We have the remote operated tempurpedic though so that’s been a life saver. Hubby has been stellar in helping me get all the garments on and handling all laundry and taking care of our baby while he was sick. His patience has been so helpful and appreciated.

Breast massages/ have been doing these daily 3-4 times a day and since the two week mark they are more intense/ hoping the let my breasts settle but not too much I really like them right where they are.

I failed to ever take measurements and I never got info or pics of what all was removed during surgery. What I know is I weighed about 190-192 at the time of surgery. At 15 days post op I’m weighing 184 even with all of the swelling.

Ps sorry for the delay in update. I got home on Monday and Friday my 3 year old got the flu so have been tending him nonstop.
