Before Aveli -
I have always been very shapely and decided to make a lifestyle change to become healthier. In the process of losing weight, my cellulite became extremely noticeable especially on my buttocks.
In addition to advance cellulite, I had lost a lot of volume in my buttocks because of my overall decrease in BMI. 255lbs to 165lbs.
I went on several consultations for BBL’s to restore the volume and shape of my butt. One doctor recommended a lower body lift, one doctor recommended a tummy tuck, and three others agreed to perform the BBL, but could not promise that my cellulite would improve or much volume could be restored because I did not have the fat needed to restore the amount of volume lost.
I did three sessions of Velashape to no avail, and resulted in zero improvement.
After much research, I decided to get sculptra injections to restore the volume in my buttocks… in the hopes that it would help some with asymmetry. All together I ended up having about 16 injections (8 per cheek) of sculptra over a period of a year; with a different plastic surgeon’s office. Honestly I did see improvement in volume but the depressions from the cellulite dimples were still very noticeable.
When I initially found out about Aveli, I decided against it, because it seemed a bit invasive. After not getting the visual results I’d hoped for with the Sculptra, I decided to go for it.
Aveli -
The consultation was easy and fast.
Before the procedure, the anesthetic is locally administered. Once the dimples are identified, each area must be numbed up INDIVIDUALLY. (*****There are no disclosures about this that I’ve seen anywhere, which is super unfair to anyone that signs up for Aveli.*****) The injections burned and in a star like pattern. (If you’ve ever had Sculptra injections in your buttocks, it’s similar to that). I had 20+ dimples treated. The process took about an hour.
The prodecure is itself is painless because once the anesthetic is administered, you cannot feel anything. The doctor uses the tool to break up each septa that causes the indentation (dimple). These septa are not easy to break up. They are very tough! Dr. Keaney put in work because I had a lot of dimples that were deep. The process took about 30-40 mins.
After the procedure is completed, the nurses massage your buttocks downwards to drain the fluid from the anesthetic. The experience wasn’t horrible, but definitely unexpected. The incisions are bandaged and you go home in spanx.
Post Aveli -
Drainage last for 5 days and my wounds finally closed at 7 days. Results were pretty obvious day 1. After 30 days my results settled but a few dimples did reappear after 60 days which could have already been there and I didn’t notice due to swelling. I am 90 days out as I write this review and I’m still a bit sore in some places. I also still have a little bit of bruising.
I still wear my spanks and use a pillow to drive because it’s comfortable for me.
Recommendation-
I wrote this thorough review because I wanted the readers to know the full truth. I think my results are from a combination of Sculptra and Aveli. Please do your research and go on multiple consultations. I almost got invasive surgery for something that I had taken care of during an out of office procedure.
