5 week PO update

Its been 5 weeks since my surgery and so here are a couple more pics. Im starting to see an improvement and most of the pain and fatigue from surgery are now passing

7 days Post op update

Its been 7 days since my procedure and boy has it been a roller coaster! There have been countless times that I've questioned why i've done this to myself especially as the pain has set in. The pain around the tummy tuck incision is bearable but the incisions across my inner thigh are very painful. By day 7 though thankfully the swelling has started to subside. Ive made good progress healing with the scabs forming at the incisions. There is still alot of pain around my chest where alot of lipo occurred but the flatter chest has made it worth while. My inner thighs are also swollen , although much less than day 1 so i can walk with some comfort, i had my drains removed by day 4 and have been getting around pretty well. My doctor and the nursing staff have been happy with the recovery pace I've made. By the end of the first full week the pain is becoming less of an issue and although i feel reallytight around my mid section I'm able to stand up a little straighter. Most of the swelling is right around the middle of my tummy and sides but i can tell this is also subsiding. Im really happy with the job my plastic surgeon has done especially with the work to revise a previous keyloid scar by working this into my new belly button which makes it less obvious. I really do miss the gym though!!! Here are a couple of pics for PO week 1

After reading all the reviews on this site i...

After reading all the reviews on this site i thought it would be only fair to post my own experiences to help share and encourage others considering doing this. I e read up and researched this thoroughly and would encourage anybody considering this to do the same including finding a good reputable plastic surgeon. Here goes.. about 3 years ago i got a lapband which provided some intial results but after 10kgs of weightloss this stalled. In short my band became infected was removed and a new band installed. This too provided some initial results but again stalled. After 2 years I had only lost and maintained weightloss of 10kgs. So i decided to get off my lazy behind and join the gym over a year ago having weighed 155 kgs.I started off with a personal trainer a couple times a week to help get me going but once i got into the swing of it have since scaled this back to once a week. In short over the past year through diet and exercise i have lost 58kgs. Its never been easy and i gym almost 7 days a week for an average of 2 hours a day which includes running 5kms daily, cardio and weight training. This has unfortunately left me with excess skin on the inner thighs, tummy and chest. Yesterday was my surgery to remove the skin with a medial thigh lift, gynecomastia and circumferential abdominplasty. The surgery was extensive taking a total of 8hrs. Once the anaesthesia wore off the pain has been minimal with pain centred mainly at the incision sites (burning mostly) im feeling really good and have even managed to take a shower this morning myself after the first post op check up. While its only day 1 and im sure time will tell i could not be happier with the initial results. The other reviews on this site were especially helpful for me to have realistic expectations around pain and what to expect. Attached are some pre opp pics, i'll continue to post pics as I progress.
