I felt the distance between my upper lip and nose...

I felt the distance between my upper lip and nose was too long and aged my appearance. I also thought a lip lift would be a proactive approach to ageing.
I also wanted a more volumous upper lip

I barely researched enough to prepare myself for what post-op expectations would be.
I had a consultation with the surgeon and hadn't prepared any detailed questions. He vaguely and verbally dot pointed what I should expect after the op. "Day 1, 2 and 3 you should expect swelling in lip, by day 4 most of the swelling should subside, day 5 is relatively when you can see results day 6 we get your stitches out day 7 you can go back to work. It's day 7 now and I feel inconsolable. He did not take the conservative approach as I've been reading about most doctors that do. I definitely feel as though he's excised too much skin, my upper lip barely has a difference in volume and just sits really high. I can't rest my lips together without wrinkling my chin up. I feel like I have a cleft lip.
My nose feels really big too. I know it night be swelling but what if it's also a combination of it not being that swollen but may just look bigger because of the proportions of my little upper lip and short philtrum?
When will my nose be back to normal? When will my lip drop? If it does drop, how many mm can I expect it to drop?
I appreciate all of your messages
Please help me, I cannot see the light.

Update : things are looking great

Firstly I want to apologise for my overreaction. My expectations of the downtime were not realistic which is my fault first and foremost. After the fifth day I think I expected to look like a supermodel... I can say now after two weeks I am happy with the results. Really really happy. I'm embarrassed to write this but I didn't want to deter anybody from the surgery and I also definitely didn't want to defame my surgeon. He did a fantastic job. I was not in the right frame of mind after the surgery, I text my surgeon at 2am the following night to which he and his nurse called back seconds later in an attempt to calm me.
These are things your surgeon may or may not tell you but please take note:
Downtime is NOT one week. It is more like 2 weeks. Swelling is a [RS bleep] and goes away very slowly. The swelling distorts your face so don't freak out like I did. My nose was very wide and pulled down almost a little piggish... But like you all tried to tell me, it does actually get better.
Again I want to apologise for my previous review, perhaps in future for any of you who do have the procedure and feel a little down, you can compare both my reviews to put things into perspective.
My top lip has definitely dropped and I'm glad he didn't take the conservative approach. I wish I believed you guys when you said MY LIP WOULD DROP!!!
