After many years of tolerating a sagging and...

After many years of tolerating a sagging and extremely stretched abdomen (from pregnancies), I finally decided to seek a surgeon to perform abdominoplasty. This is commonly known as "tummy-tuck" but I think this is a very misleading and benign teerm for a very serious and invasive operation. The internet provides ample information on the procedure, including the removal of excess skin and the tightening of the fascia and abdominal muscles (if they have become stretched, as mine were). I knew that I wanted to find a competent AND caring doctor to perform the surgery. I searched the internet for surgeons here in Austin and was impressed with Dr. Gordon's credentials (Tulane & LSU School of Med; residency at St. Vincent's NY; post-doc scholar at Children's Hosp, PA, doing research on skin; plastic surgery residency at Emory; voted to "Super Doctor Texas Rising Stars; Board Certified plastic surgeon). Also, I welcomed the opportunity to have a woman as my surgeon!! During my several visits to Dr. Gordon's office, I was given ample time to discuss the medical procedures in detail and to explore options with Dr. G. I was impressed with her open-ness and extremely friendly personality, as well as her medical knowledge. Her staff was professional and also knowledgeable. And I was glad to learn that the operation would be performed at Central Park Surgery Center, with an overnight stay to monitor post-op. Dr. G. visited me both before and after surgery and her nurses called me (frequently) after I arrived back home to ensure that everything was OK. Now, at 7 weeks post-surgery, I am more than pleased with the results of my abdominoplasty surgery and am sooooo glad that I made the decision to go forward with this operation. Dr. Gordon's caring manner, both before and after the operation, and her willingness to agree to several unusual requests of mine, was most appreciated!! Also, the information she has shared with me, both pre- and post-op, has been very enlightening and remarkable, considering the busy schedule of surgeons. I think that I can consider her a friend of mine now. If you are thinking about a "tummy-tuck", I can definitely recommend Dr. Ashley Gordon of Restora Austin for this surgery. She will know what will be the appropriate path to follow for your particular situation, and you will be in the care of a very competent and caring doctor and surgeon.
