Wow congrat! I'm myself looking into the surgery!

Just one question how long did it take insurance to approve? If you don't mind me asking?

I didn't use insurance. My plan doesn't pay for weight loss surgery. :(

I'm so happy for you!!! I have to wait a bit longer but we are almost surgery buddies! lol What hospital are you have your procedure done at? Congrats!

I'm post op 8 days now. Those first few days are rough, I won't lie. But I'm sure it'll be worth it!

how was the hospital? Were they nice? Clean?

The hospital was def clean. The nurses and pre-op people were not too friendly. I wasn't impressed. I felt like a cow being processed in and out. My nurse was male and he must have had bad allergies b/c he kept wiping his nose on his hand, sniffling, just totally out of it. None of the nurses were super comforting. The dietitian, Merritt, was very sweet though. My husband and I both appreciated her kindness.

I'm sorry. I can honestly say that I had a feeling that is how the nurses were going to be. I will hope for the best with them. Congratulations!

I am now 5 days post op. It has been a rough ride. The pain the first 2 days is excruciating. Now I have no energy, I'm always hungry and I have these weird bouts of severe nausea and sweats. My right side is killing me, and all I want to do is sleep. Can anyone verify that this is normal? When will I feel human again? :(

I want to sleep all the time.

I slept almost all day and night the first 8 days after my surgery. Yesterday was the first day that I was up all day and didn't have to take a nap. I think it's your body trying to heal. I must say, I feel 100% better today. Hang in there, it'll get better. klstrike, when did you have your surgery?
October 7, 2015
I had my surgery on 9/28/15. 10 days out.

I had my surgery on 9/28/15 as well. I am on this journey, too. I live in the Dallas area. Can't wait to see how you are doing. I am having a hard time getting all the liquid in!

Just replied to your other comment. I'm doing much better at getting liquid in and how I'm feeling. I am drinking muscle milk now. It's really tasty and it gives me the energy I need. I just read about the Premier Protein from Costco. Is that in a pre-made single serve container?
October 7, 2015
Yes, they are single serve containers. They have more protein than the Muscle Milk.

What flavors do they come in?
October 8, 2015
Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I got all 3. Very good.

I started my preop diet to shrink my liver. It sucks. I'm tired, I'm hungry and I'm grouchy.
Took my before pics. I always fidgety how big I've gotten til I see it in pictures. I simply cannot wait to be healthy again.

I'm still on liquids only! I haven't lost very much either. I'm rather perturbed. I was down to 216, now I'm back up to 218.5! This is for the birds.
