Rhinoplasty - Austin, TX

I travelled to Austin to meet Dr. Weinfeld after experiencing a consultation in my home city that left me feeling very uneasy - as he didn't listen to what I wanted, and just saw a vision and direction for himself. My feelings were not heard or considered. My visit with Dr. Weinfeld was the exact opposite of my first interaction with a plastic surgeon. I felt very comfortable with him and his approach. My mother, on the other hand- was against my decision. I included her in my journey because I wanted her to feel comfortable, included and informed on what I was choosing to do. To say she was hesitant is an understatement-- she was very much against me having this surgery. Period. I completely understood her stance on this, because I think it is a natural reaction from any mother in regards to their child. I made it a point to keep her included throughout the entire process, despite her constant attempts to talk me out of it. Dr. Weinfeld was unbelievably patient with her, myself, and all of our questions.
To continue, my surgery was an effortless success. Looking back, I can't believe I made the decision to go through with it- but I would do it again a hundred times over. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. To top it all off, my mom has taken back every nervous thought she had beforehand. She thinks the outcome is amazing. I am still floored that she did such a complete change in attitude after seeing what an amazing job that was done. She begged me not to do the open-approach. If anything, she wanted very minimal changes to the hump of my nose, using the closed-approach. I chose the open approach to decrease the hump and tip of my nose, and my mother has never even seen a scar, and can't believe it. Nor can I. If we could go back in time, I know she would have been so much more at ease with my decision. I couldn't be happier. The added support from my mom (even after the fact) makes it that much better.
