I am looking into a Mommy Makeover for a few reasons. I married my wonderful husband a year ago and I have 2 kids and he has 4. As you can imagine it is a stressful chaotic life but I am madly in love. When you have the love of a good man you start to look at yourself all over. I had a very traumatic childhood with sexual and emotional abuse. I have always had a low self esteem and until recently did not know how to fix myself emotionally with the help of my husband. I feel worthy of love and ready to reclaim my life!
Stats: I am 6'1
245pnds 47hips, 41waist. Size 16/18
I am active I love playing with my kids and recently I am REALLY trying to love running uggggg.
I have always worked out in spurts, 2 months here, zumba, hiking here, I get impatient.
I was 266 pounds when I started this Journey, I have been eating Paleo for 4 months now and it has made all the difference.
Looking forward to making new friends and updates!

I'm so glad you started your story here on RealSelf! That consultation sounds really disappointing. Do you have surgeons in mind for the next few? Here's a list of questions you may want to ask when you go in.

And good job on losing the first 20. You rock!

Welcome to the group !! Here you will find out so much information that it is incredible. You will become an expert. Any questions feel free to ask. There are wonderful ladies on here. As for the doctor make sure that you feel comfortable and that he / she feels right. Ask a million and one questions. Trust me once you meet the right doctor your heart will tell you. I love my surgeon from day one.

I can relate to you wanting a mommy make over as I also remarried after having children. I wanted to look my best for my husband, even though he was perfectly happy with me the way I was (or so he said...he hasn't complained since my TT though!). Let me also say that your caption "gross gross, gross" cracked me up, but you are so far from gross! I would love to be so tall...lucky girl! I'm sorry the doctor didn't make you feel better about the surgery. I know you are in Austin, but if you ever make it down to Houston, my doctor was incredible. I was close to sold on the surgery before I made my (free...by the way) consultation, but my husband was not. I made the appointment at a time when I knew my husband could go with me because I really needed him on board. Dr. Basu went through the process step by step with us and made us feel 100% comfortable. My husband was very worried about my recovery time (we have preschool age kiddos, so I have to be hands on all the time), and he was put at ease right away. Having a doctor with good bedside manner can make all the difference in the world in my opinion. I couldn't go with a doctor that I did like personally, or that didn't make me feel like I was the only patient he had seen that day. I hope you find a doctor that makes you feel more comfortable so you can have a great experience and be thrilled with your results. I haven't posted my pics yet, but I'm hoping to do that later today. I am 11 weeks out today, and I still can't get over how great I look. I laughed when Dr. Basu told me he would give me the nice flat tummy I had before kids because I never really had one...but I do now! Please keep us posted!! I'm looking forward to following your journey!
