Appt went well. I have a lot of swelling in my thighs and hips but it's to be expected. Both drains remain. I'm still completely blown away at how minimal my pain has been. Doctor imbedded Esperell (sp?) into my ab muscles and it has worked amazingly well. My belly button is perfect!

i had my consult over a year ago and took month contemplating the pros and cons. The $$ was my biggest hang up. I lost 48 lbs through diet and exercise about 2 years ago. could never get my arms or stomach to look fit. I own my own business and we are opening another location in April...so i decided it was now or never, life was about to get even busier. I am now on day 4 post-op and although im sore and moving pretty slow, it has been quite bearable and i am so glad i did it! i have wonderful support from my best friend and my husband.

Welcome to the flat side. Would love to see before and after pics. Hope you recovery is an easy one . Happy healing
thanks for the warm welcome! I will post pics, going in for my first post of tomorrow. I finally showered last night, was both terrifying and amazing at the same time. I had myself all worked up about what the incision would look like, and was shocked at how "not awful" it looked. My belly button looks fantastic! Ill have my doctor take pics tomorrow and ill get them posted here. I'm terribly excited to share my healing journey!
Welcome to the flat side. Happy healing
Once i get the courage to remove bandages and take pics i will definitely post before and after pics. I attempted a shower 2 days post op and had a bit of a panic attack, ended up having my BFF wash my hair in the sink and call it good. . im just not ready to see the incision. I have my first post op in 2 days, (1/15/14). Today is day 5 and i feel really good. My husband has taken off today and tomorrow which is reassuring. I can do most basic things myself but he and i both agreed no reason to leave me alone just yet. Pictures soon!
Congrats, can't wait to see your pics. Continued good healing and progress.
Wow! Congrats on your sx and happy healing! Fingers crossed my post op is bearable...any recovery suggestions?
Best thing I did.... Rented a lifting recliner from RentACenter for 3 weeks. It's been fantastic. Requires no core muscles to get up and down. I also have been drinking tons of water and have managed to keep ahead of the pain with my Percocet. I think that has been key.
you know, I have been going back and forth with the recliner and renting the bed for the last week. My bed is super high, and I use a stool that has 2 steps to get on it so I was positive that was not the best option. LOL....Thanks hun!
