Follow up: Other angles

You need to also consider the other angles ppl will be seeing your legs from. I am finding (2 years after surgery) I am more self conscious now than I was before. Assuming you got the surgery bc you're skinny, you can really feel the implants hang off your leg when sitting fetal etc. These implants arent exactly sewn onto your existing calf. This can make it especially awkward when intimate with your partner. I was all about cuddling & tangling it up in the sheets etc etc.... but now I am hyper sensitive to anything coming in contact w/ my calf area. This is a surgery you probably are not exactly bragging about to the public. I met my girlfriend now of 2 years a month after my surgery & she still does not know about them. I would say there was a bad calf injury & left me a horrible disfigurement that I fixed if I ever got called out on it. Anyway - below are pics of how obvious they appear if you're ever caught sitting that way. Just another thing you'll become very self conscious of.
I will add updates regularly. The ripple effect this surgery had on my overall life (horrible gut infection, six figure job loss, hyper insecurities, became incredibly anti-social as I had to give up alcohol completely to heal my gut) is too much not to share. People need to read this before moving ahead with the procedure.

Ya, you need sub-muscular implants. You will probably never wear shorts in public again.

my implants were placed under the muscle and i just looked if I didn’t get 2 implants each side I’d probably have same issue as yours ... listen ... I’d who gives a [RS bleep]... if the girl was in your bed she sure as hell won’t care cause she wouldn’t be in bed with you just cause of your calves... and for rest of the world they don’t see you in fetal position ... your calves look fine... love Em and build em. You can’t go back so just go forward man

Agree on sub-muscular implants, I am guessing that comes with some potential complications though. Your talking stretching a muscle out you already have trouble building up mass with... Never wearing shorts again is a bit extreme, the outcome is not what I am speaking to, its the dangerous prescription drug protocol that is toxic to your overall health.

Don’t know why not drinking makes you anti social. I don’t drink either but I go out and am not anti social. You make such a big deal of not drinking... get a life man, the problem is in the head. And not in the gut. Or surgery. The surgeon did his job. If you didn’t tell him your gut and skin story he’s not responsible for that. Even the skin photo of your face... I can notice the redness but I certainly would understand the guys got an issue but not hold it against you. Your a human, and so what. Everyone’s got something. As long as your attitude was ok ... instead of crying about how they look in fetal position just train your calves a little and see how fantastic they will look, your lucky that you’ve got no skin color pigmentation around entry points of implants ... with my skin tone you can see the scars... but I’ve made my calves into best they can and I’m
Happy despite my challenges that I live with

I’m just saying, giving up drinking & sharply changing diet/lifestyle for a long period of time post surgery was critical in repairing my gut from the destruction of the anitibiotics. You don’t think about these things going into it... The anti social part is from the Candida skin infection I got from them. When you work in an office all day & around ppl constantly, it’s impossible to face ppl with total confidence.

ok, but you must have known about how anti biotics unsettle your gut and how it has a serious consequence for your skin (as compared to others) and you must have been told what mediciatons you would take after the surgery and Im sure you expected to be on anti biotics ..... i dont know of any surgery where the doc wouldnt put you on anti bios... so maybe you conclusion is very specific to you with both you and the doctor have missed the severe consequence but doctors are only required to ask the following: "are you allergic to any medication" and if your answer was no... the doctor wouldnt automatically deep dive into asking so how does your gut react to anti biotics! You should have had some sense of the issue and you should have brought it up.... he wasnt holding a file of all your medical history ... and you went for a calf implant surgery... did he do the job right? thats all you can say

for sure. Which is why I am not beating up on the surgeon. The operation itself went fine! scarring is very faint now & I was back running full speed in a month. No fault of his whatsoever. I absolutely voiced my concern in taking the antibiotic in advance, only I figured eating clean & a few anti microbial supplements could get me back to balance. The follow up meds are just painkillers & I absolutely did not overdo those at all. I believe it was a combination of everything. The pre-op antibiotics -> anesthetic -> follow up meds are what did it. Destroying your gut, then shocking your immune system, then more toxic drugs clearly take the body a long time to recover from.............. which makes me VERY nervous about getting these things removed which is already on my radar.

Definitely nothing against the surgeon at all. Nothing but high marks there, he did great work & knew nothing of my history with antibiotics.
I’m just stating all in all, it wasn’t worth it. The poisonous/toxic prescriptions gave me 2 years of post operation suffering. Your late 30’s should be your prime years.

Appreciate the support! It helps for sure. As you’d expect, this isn’t a surgery you hear many ppl talk openly about. I certainly don’t and never will. My GF of 2 years now still doesn’t know.
I’ve been thinking of having them taken out....
