I found Dr. Thomas Walker through research on the Internet. There wasn't a surgeon in my area that performed spreader graft surgery, and I was referred to a surgeon in Birmingham. I preferred going to Atlanta, so I made a consultation with Dr. Walker. Not only did he have excellent credentials, I found him to be very personable and interested in me as a patient. Dr. Walker was very straight forward, outlining the risks of performing a revision rhinoplasty. He was very conservative regarding my outcome, explaining that there is no such thing as the perfect nose, but that he could improve my breathing as achieve some symmetry in my nose. He warned me of any doctor who gave me unrealistic expectations and seemed extremely forthright and caring. I was struck by the amount of time he spent with me answering questions and outlining the procedure. After much thought and further checking his credentials, I decided to have the surgery. Dr. Walker operated for 8 hours, surgery that lasted longer than my brain surgery at Duke Hospital. Dr. Walker felt pleased with the outcome and said he even removed stitches and corrected some asymmetry before finishing because he was a "perfectionist". This man, to whom I was just another patient, treated me as if I were his top priority. He called me at home to check on me and upon the first follow up visits, explained the complexity of my surgery and his professional and personal satisfaction with the outcome. After having the cast removed, I was not pleased, but I knew my perception was skewed. I trusted him that a prescribed diet and adhering to his instructions would result in an outcome with which I was satisfied. Nearly three months post op and I am so grateful that I found Dr. Walker and trusted him to do my surgery. He is extremely pleased with the results, but more importantly, I am! Let me add that I am an informed and skeptical consumer. I've had 8 surgeries with doctors whom I knew or knew of. My father represented doctors in medical malpractice cases. This was a major operation and I weighed everything before making my decision. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Walker. He is a man of integrity, precision, incredible skill, and a caring man and surgeon. I would not hesitate recommending under any circumstances. This man is double board certified in facial plastic surgery and ENT (I double checked!). I put my life and my appearance literally in his hands, and I am so grateful I did.

Thank you for this review. I am like you also a very skeptical and informed consumer.
I ams Cherokee with dr. Walker for revision rhinoplasty on March 23. I was wondering if you could tell me what your concerns were prior to surgery and the outcome. I'm very nervous as it is likely I'll need a rib graft and likely my surgery will be a lengthy eight hours. It sounds like you're very happy and I'd just like to hear more details if you don't mind sharing. Thank you.
