My Mommy Makeover: Tummy Tuck No Muscle Repair, Breast Lift and Implant -Atlanta, GA
ORIGINAL POST
I honestly don't even know where to begin. I have...
WORTH IT$1
I honestly don't even know where to begin. I have thought about plastic surgery since I was 16. Unfortunately have always had uneven, large, long/saggy breast. Genetics? Not sure. When I was 18 my mother took me for a consult, and the surgeon definitely thought I needed a lift with implant. Well... Financially I just was not ready. Then at 19 I became pregnant. (No change in breast size ever. No milk. No engorgement. Nothing. But unfortunately I gained 50-60 pounds, and a lot of stretch marks. I did not exercise diet or anything after. Why? I guess I was naive and just thought it would repair itself? Or just so consumed with my previous baby boy that nothing else mattered.
Then about two tears ago I decided to live a healthier life, and lost 69 pounds, and have kept it off. Plus or minus 19 pounds here and there. So holy moly my belly looks like a butt.
Ok... 9 1/2 years after childbirth I have the money, and decide it is now or never. I talk to numerous people and decide to go to Artisan Plastic Surgery (northside location) from the minute I walked into the office I knew this was it. From the beautiful girls at the front desk, who are just as sweet as can be, to the whole feeling/vibe. Relaxing and absolutely beautiful. I was taken to a beautiful room almost immediately to change into a gown, and within minutes Dr.B was there. It was like I had known her for years. So down to earth, knowledgeable, honest, and just real. She spent a lot of time with me and made me so comfortable. I have thought about this for so long I almost knew exactly what I wanted. A tummy tuck, breast lift, and implants (mentor silicone ) to fill out my deflated-ness. She agreed 100%, and thankfully said I did not need any muscle repair. I then met with the surgery coordinator, we scheduled for TWO WEEKS OUT. WAHHH!! I couldn't wait. Each day would have killed me.
Morning of surgery no nerves. Crazy. I get nervous at the dentist. My precious mom took me, thank goodness no one better in the world. No matter how old you are. I had so much fun with the nurses, all so sweet. They put in my IV, put my patch behind my ear for nausea, and a little antacid by mouth. Next thing I know they gave me some muscle relaxer, and versed. Then 3 hours later I am awake in recovery eating ice chips. Went home propped up in my recliner. Stayed there for two days, round the clock meds. No horrible pain. Just wanted to prevent it.
Post op was a week later. One drain was removed. OUCH. Bit only for a second literally. She said I was healing perfectly. To keep tape on all incisions, continue taking antibiotics, and pain meds as needed. Had not had any in days at that point. And to continue wearing cjnoression bra, and compression wrap. I hate both of then. But I just have to remember. Not. For. Ever. We. Want. Best. Results. :)
When I got home I was so exhausted. It's crazy how much it takes it out of you after not doing anything for a week.
I completely overdid the next two days with school registration and shopping but relaxed the next day and was fine. But my drain out pit was higher and my tummy was a little swollen.
Now I am 13 days post op and I can say if do it all again tomorrow. I honestly think the surgeon determines your recovery. She was Amazing. I have NO BRUSING. She did not do lipo but said that she scooped. I am not familiar with that but I will be asking her Thursday at my 2week appt. I am thrilled and if you are on the fence, but have the finances, and want this for YOU and you alone.... GO FOR IT. Honestly my boobs hurt more than the tummy tuck ever thought about hurting. I was not expecting that but am pleased. No pain was intolerable. My stomach has never been this flat, and I'm still swollen.
I would be happy to answer any questions I can. But if you are in the area, this practice is TOP NOTCH!!! You can totally tell she absolutely loves her job. She was almost gitty talking to me at my consult. She said I was a perfect candidate, and that she loved to do surgery and could not wait. Then after, came out in the waiting room and again reassured me in a genuine way. It was never in an I want your business kind if way. I love my new bod!!!!

Had my two week post op yesterday.
Went well, did not see the doctor but I saw her nurse. Whom I absolutely LOVE TO DEATH. She took my tape off and seemed to be pleasantly surprised at the minimal scaring. I'm still so surprised that I had NO BRUISING WHATSOEVER. I literally always have bruises that I have no clue where they came from. But anyway, I still have my JP tube. Which is honestly one if the worst parts. I finally figured out how to "pad/bandage" the site so that it would not hurt. But my output is still so high. Not sure if I'm doing too much but I just feel so good and so normal. I have been "normal" since I week post-op other than walking hunched and sore back from that. Im still at around 80cc a day. If youre squeamish stop reading now. I had no idea that there would be what i assume is pieces of fat coming out into the drains : / eeck. But I am thankful that Dr. B uses drains as I hear some practices do not. I can nit imagine how swollen i would be.
But I purchased a scar serum/gel type thing that I am to apply twice daily, and cover with tape once dry.
I go back next Thursday and I am hoping and praying I can have this tube removed. It's so hard to hide with clothes. Especially being a million degrees in this humid GA weather, so I just pin it to my compression wrap and look like I have a hernia :) but I don't care. Everything is and will be all worth it.

Before and After Pics; can not believe I am sharing but I hope some way some how this helps someone because this website is and
One is still a little larger but they still have dropping fluffing and healing to do. I think they're just perfect. They don't have that "fake" look especially in clothes. I just can't wait to wear the cute backless/strapless/ cute little numbers I have always been so uncomfortable in with big hard bulky strapless bras to hold the girls up.

Congratulations on your amazing results! What size of implant did you go with?

August 9, 2013
Thank you so much!! We originally said 550. But she could only get 500 under the muscle on the smaller left side. And 375 in the larger.

Congrats!! You look great! Thank you for all the helpful info you have provided! Happy healing:)

You look fantastic and I'm so glad you didn't suffer too much pain. It seems as though muscle repair is the killer. I can't believe how flat you are and so soon, but my favourite bit is your boobs. Probably the best shape I've ever seen!

Awe thank you so much. That means a lot. It's all on the hands of the surgeon. I would travel across the world for Dr.B.
I do think the muscle repair would have made it a lot worse. Well I know it would have. Thanks again :) so worth it.

You look amazing! I know exactly what you mean about finally being able to eat those cute strapless numbers. I hopetoone day feel good in a bathing suit. I love swimming but am to embarrassed of my body to do so. If I do I wear shorts and a tank with a sports bra underneath. I am so happy for you to be able to change your life and the way you present yourself. I know prices will very but how much did this cost in the end. You had the same work I need and your body looked the same as mine before so I figure it should be close. Thank you and congratulations
