I've had four kids last kid is 2. Am 34 years old no c sections. I had tummy tuck done on April 1st 2025. So far so good, still swollen. Day 1 PO - slept most of the day, didn't feel much pain due to not moving around much, sleeping, and anesthesia. Day 2 PO - burning pain in muscle repair areas is the worse other pain is just like did a bunch of ab exercises on sides of abdomen and middle. Incision doesn't hurt at all. Lower abdomen is numb (normal). Two drains are still in. Walking like a hunchback at 40 degree hunch. Day 3 PO - feeling more burning pain in top part of muscle repair especially when standing. 40 degree hunch back. Can tolerate standing only for like 5 minutes then back hurts and need to sit. Day 4 PO - back pain is sooooo real. Hunch back is 50 degrees so better but the posture hurts my muscles in my back. Two drains still in. Can stand for longer. Burning pain is till there. Ab muscles not so bad anymore. Day 5 PO - back pain is a little better, can stand for longer 60 degrees hunch back lol. Day 7 PO - almost completely straight when walking, burning pain is periodic, feels tight when I try and straighten my back out more, but I don't want to ruin my incision so being careful. One drain was taken out. Day 8 PO - can walk for much longer and back pain is significantly better. Day 9 PO - walking more did shopping on scooter. Day 10 PO - walking more and more burning pain still intermittent, still tight, still swollen. Updated on 23 Apr 2025: Can walk for longer, no more back pain, only a little sore when I try to use my abs to get up or when I sneeze. I can stand straight.
From the first step into Artisan, I felt my nerves flee. The entire staff is AMAZING! They are definitely in the business of uplifting other women while also keeping it real with you. I had my MM (lift, augmentation, and tummy tuck) on May 8th and I’m so excited to see my results continue to get better and better! I did find myself being that 1% that faces the necrotic tissue mess with a potion of one nipple.. they were beyond supportive with check up calls and encouragement the entire time I was going to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and applying nitro cream to it daily. It was a lot, but with those treatments and God on my side, THE TISSUE HEALED ITSELF WITHIN 9 SESSIONS! I’ve been taking daily pictures as it has healed and I tell you what, GOD IS SO GOOD. Say what you will, but He moved in both healing and financial ways. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since surgery and I still have 1 drain in, I believe that’s mostly bc I’ve had to be super active going to treatments etc. I hope to have it removed soon so I can ditch this binder and slip into shape wear and nicer clothes. So while the journey took quite the detour lol it has been filled with so much encouragement, love, growth in my faith, and I would definitely do it all over again.. especially in choosing my surgeon.
I’m so happy with my results. Dr Bernadette Wang-Ashraf is excellent and a first rate surgeon. No need to go to Florida. Come see Artisan Plastic Surgery!! I had a jaw surgery that left me with a lot of skin. She removed the skin and tightened up my entire abdomen. I’m stunned at the results
Dr. Wang-Ashraf did my surgery on 06/25/2021, she is an extremely skilled surgeon and has a great bed side manner. You can tell she really cares about her patients. The entire staff is very kind, helpful and professional I highly reccommend Dr. Ashraf and Artisan Plastic Surgery.

After more than 20 years of wanted to do this, I finally worked up the nerve! I had my oldest child when I was only 16. Everything about being a pregnant teen was traumatic for me. My parents kicked me out, I gained 85lbs, I was scared and alone. After giving birth to my son I had tons of excess skin and deflated breasts. I lost all of the extra weight and have been working out consistently for 20 years. I am a fitness instructor but no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of the extra skin on my belly. After meeting with both Dr. Alexander & Dr. Wang-Ashraf at Artisan Plastic Surgery, I feel confident and safe about having a TT, BL, & BA with a bit of contouring. I am excited and nervous about the surgery. My husband and I have 4 children so I am of course concerned about the risks. I'll keep you all updated as I go through the process! Updated on 28 Aug 2020: I'm nervous & excited in anticipation for my surgery. I've been prepping myself, the house, and my family over the past couple of weeks. Each night I make & freeze extra meals for myself & family. I've cleaned out closets, pantries, the fridge, and organized the calendar. My ex will be helping with the girls so that I have a full week of recovery without the two younger kiddos here. My husband has been incredibly supportive and patient. I feel so grateful to have him by my side. I couldn't do this alone. As for as self care, I'm taking bromelain, vitamin c, zinc, magnesium, curcumin eating mostly plant based, and practicing yoga daily. I've purchased some bio oil and arnica for after surgery along with button down shirts, a robe, and extra joggers. I'm researching compression garments now. Anyone have recommendations? I don't own a recliner. I plan to prop myself up with pillows and rest in bed. Any recommendations there? Also, is an ab board necessary? I've had 2 c sections and I did use a pillow on my belly when laughing or coughing. Thanks for the support. I'll keep updating. Updated on 14 Sep 2020: I just want to say Dr. Wang-Ashraf & the staff at Northside were incredible. My surgery lasted about 3hrs. Everything went great. I elected to stay the night at the hospital. Every single nurse in the ERU was incredible! As for my experience, I'm doing well. My pin I managed. I've been able to get up and elk around lot. I was injected you Exparel during surgery. It is a miracle drug! I'll share more later. We just got home and I haven't even seen my belly yet, only my boobs, which are high & tight right now, but they will settle. Updated on 15 Sep 2020: Dr. Wang-Ashraf is a miracle worker! I had a bit of a scary weekend, personally because I didn’t know what to expect. The entire staff of Artisan Plastic Surgery took my phone calls, even Dr. Ashraf & Dr. Alexander on a Saturday night! Thy have been so attentive, caring, and reassuring. Note: the your pain meds! I tried to stop on Saturday and I had m in a world of hurt. Since I’ve been taking everything as directed, I haven’t any had issues. I’m so impressed with the results already! Updated on 17 Sep 2020: I’m 6 days post op & feeling absolutely wonderful! I’m off pain meds, only taking antibiotics, arnica, & bromelian now. To anyone considering this surgery, do your homework. Research, plan, and take really good car of yourself both before & after. Find a great surgeon, and go for it. I’m so pleased with the results. I do still have 1 drain. I’m hoping to have it removed in the next couple of days. Updated on 22 Sep 2020: I can’t even begin to express how life changing this surgery has been for me. Dr. Wang-Ashraf gave me my body back! I’m so grateful. The healing process is taking time and it has been painful, but nowhere near as bad as I anticipated. I’m feeling pretty great as of now. My abdomen is pretty numb in a few places, especially lower. My breasts still feel tight & high. I’m stiff in the morning, but as I move around the stiffness goes. I still have tape on all incisions. I got to peek yesterday at the office when tape was changed. The incisions are healing beautifully! My work now will be continuing to remember to slow down and allow time for a full recovery. I’m off all meds and have been taking easy hikes with my husband. I feel mostly like myself. Ladies, if you’ve been thinking of this, get yourself healthy & then make the leap! I waited 20 years to do this and now wonder why I was so fearful. It’s totally worth it! Updated on 22 Sep 2020: Here are a few post op pics! Updated on 29 Sep 2020: I’ve developed a large seroma. The Dr. removed 180cc of fluid from my belly yesterday. I have absolutely no idea why or how it happened. I’ve worn compression garments religiously. Today I started some practices to stimulate lymph drainage: - dry brushing - astragalus supplement - juice fasting - hot & cold shower - I added an an board to my compression garment I’m hopeful that these practices help me heal. Anyone else have a seroma? Tips on healing? Updated on 7 Oct 2020: Well it hasn’t been super easy, but I’m almost at 4 weeks! Ladies, the bet advice I can give you is to be gentle with yourself. It’s going to take time for your body to heal. I’ve been doing gentle yoga & walking every day to promote mobility. I’m still pretty stiff & sore, especially in th morning when I wake up. I notice my belly contracting when I go on walks so I just try to take it easy when I do. The seroma has nearly healed thanks to a wonderful Dr. & lymphatic massage. Overall I’m SO happy with the results.. I went into this knowing it would take me time to fully heal. I feel better every day! My breasts are dropping slowly so I’ve started massaging daily & wearing a band. What I’m learning every day is just go slow. Updated on 22 Dec 2020: Hey everyone! I just wanted to update. Healing is coming long nicely. I’m still swollen in my breasts and low belly. It just going to the time. I’m BVI to my normal routine and feeling normal almost always. I’ve been focused on scar therapy for about 5 weeks now. I use mederma at night and bioderm during the day. The scars on my breasts are a little odd due to the issues with stitches not dissolving. Dr. Ashraf says she will do a revision if necessary. My breasts are uneven right now. The right one decided to the forever to drop. Patience is key after your surgery. Healing takes time. I’ve posted a few pics. Overall I’m very happy with everything!
I'm a mom of 3 and one of pregnancies was with twins. I quickly became pregnant again and welcomed my daughter 20 months later. My body never went to pregnancy and i had this hanging skin. I workout and even ran a half marathon, nothing changed with my body I had a consult with Dr Wang-Ashraf and was so comfortable with her. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo on my flanks. I followed her post post recommendations and my results are AMAZING!!!! She is an amazing surgeon
Dr. Ashraf truly is a surgical goddess. I’m beyond thrilled with my results. Her staff is so amazing, payment and scheduling was exactly as expected, my surgery was a breeze, and she completely prepared me for my recovery. I cannot sing her praises high enough.
No kids, no massive weight loss, just saggy and I don’t know why lol. I’m getting a breast lift w augmentation. I’m scheduled tomorrow with dr BERNADETTE WANG ASHRAF @ Artisian plastic surgery in sandy springs, GA Updated on 13 Apr 2019: The surgery went smoothly! I ended up getting a 650 cc on both breast and they look good so far. The left looks a tiny bit bigger but I took it’s still swollen. I’m not in much pain at all and barley need the pain killers and it’s only the day after my surgery. No excessive bleeding but they both feel very tight. The left is tighter than the right I can raise my right hand (the less swollen one) but not the left. The left seems to hurt more. Updated on 13 Apr 2019: Updated on 14 Apr 2019: I finally did it & I’m so happy. After showing pictures of my ideal breast to dr. Ashraf, she decided to give me a 650 cc. Surprisingly I haven’t been in much pain at all. I just feel tight. And the feel high up on my chest but I know they’ll drop. I haven’t really been NEEDING the pan killers at all but I still take a couple every 5 hours or so just Incase. I feel like the pain will be gone very soon. The left breast seems to be hurting more than the right. I can completely lift my right after a move my head but definitely not the left. The left looks a bit bigger but it’s only been a day and i think it’s just swollen. Updated on 14 Apr 2019: The left breast is starting to soften up. The armpit area isn’t so “squishy” looking and they seem to be adjusting into their shape. they’re still very high but I’m sure they’ll drop soon. My pain is extremely minimal but I’m taking the hydrocodone with acetaminophen still which is making me super itchy but it’s not that bad.i had stretch rod before the BA/BL and they seem a little more apparent now which kinda sucks but I’ve started putting silicon scar gel and castor oil on them (far away from the bandages) and that should prevent any new marks. Anyone have any suggestions for stretchmarks? Updated on 16 Apr 2019: 4th night was the worst for me. I was extremely nauseous and it was really hard to sleep through the nausea. I took some of the nausea medicine but I think it was because I ate some fried chicken (big mistake). I have been very constipated and I think that’s contributing to the nausea as well. Today my breasts feel very very tight but I also quit taking the hydrocodone w/ acetaminophen and switched over to Tylenol w/ codeine which has helped a lot. The muscle relaxers help with the tightness as well. My left boob still seems higher/ bigger and I’m hoping they drop evenly. The implants have made my stretch marks a lot lot more apparent which sucks but I’m gonna try to put some silicone scar cream on them once they heal a bit more. Also today is the first day I have started to see bruising. Yeesh lol Updated on 16 Apr 2019: More pics (day 4/5) Updated on 23 Apr 2019: I went back to work today. My breast are feeling great. All I feel at this point is slight pressure. I was able to drive to work and back with no pain although it was a bit hard to turn the steering wheel. One of my breast is still swollen and I found out it’s because the dr had to take out some of the tissue to make them even. They fluctuate. Some days they’re even some times I look at them and they’re off. But I know it’s just swelling. The right one is also dropping faster than the left. They look good so far though :) Updated on 3 May 2019: Lefty is still higher and tighter, the right one is dropped. Hopefully it stops dropping bc I feel like if it drops anymore it’s going to be too saggy for my liking. I like the left one (size and height) but I hope it comes down to match the right. I was told to massage it for 30 seconds each breast (1 min total) and it seems to be working. I hope I don’t develop capsular contracture :/ over all happy with them... Updated on 17 May 2019: Love them. They are definitely sisters am not twins but that’s ok. I get my tape off next week and they are getting very soft. It’s nice to not have saggy boobs anymore.
In a 37 year old mother of three: 2, 5, and 7. All very large babies and I’m not a big person. I carried a ton of fluid with each pregnancy as well and my muscles have never recovered. I’m a generally fit person, but no amount of exercise could keep my stomach from sticking out. My older kids were constantly asking why my stomach is so big. Decided to take action! Updated on 11 Apr 2019: Today, I’m 2 week post op. Yesterday I had my drain removed and I feel so much better. I’m still swollen, but nothing horrible. I feel like I’m going to be really happy once the swelling goes down, but I already love the flatness. After three babies, I never thought I would feel confident in a swimsuit again. So glad I did this and so glad I chose Dr Asraf! Updated on 13 Apr 2019: I was told I can transition to spanx now, but I feel more secure in my compression garment. Still pretty swollen around the lower belly and love handle area, but loving the waistline and flatness in the upper belly. I’m roughly 2.5 weeks post op now Updated on 17 Apr 2019: I don’t think I realized how swollen I’m getting bc my stomach is still flat and I can button most of my jeans (they are tight though). Looking through my progress pics, I can tell that I’m swelling more and more each week. Probably bc I’m more and more active each week. I feel great and look forward to seeing my results in the weeks to come! Updated on 25 Apr 2019: Feeling really good! Still sleeping with my head propped up but will try laying flat soon. Swollen in my lower belly. My flanks are a little bigger than I hoped. She said she would do lipo if needed, but I didn’t have any bruising at all and never any pain in my sides, so I don’t think she did it. Feel 100x more confident I’m my clothes. Recovery has been very smooth so far! Updated on 4 May 2019: Feeling great! Sleeping on my side but still elevated. Swelling is going down. Can fit in most all o my clothes now. Sides and lower belly still puffy but definitely improving. My belly button is looking much better too. Very happy overall. At age 37, I’ve never felt more confident. Life changing surgery for sure!! Updated on 1 Jun 2019:
As long as you're healthy, there is really not set age limit. We will of course go over your medical history, and have you cleared by a primary care physician prior to surgery.
Ice is better for a breast augmentation. Be careful with heat after surgery. Since there is some numbness, you wouldn't wan to burn yourself with heat after your surgery. :)
It is very possible to have a safe breast augmentation with your petite frame. In fact, I'm 5'1" and weigh about 100 lbs and have had breast augmentation myself! I went from an A cup to a C cup and I am very happy.
