I studied 15 of the most highest recommended, accredited, experienced, board certified Plastic Surgeons in G.A., S.C.,T.N. and FL before I made my decision.I will say that I believe Mr. Colgrove is the most talented and artistic Dr. of reforming, repairing, and sculpting the human body. To me, he is truly an artist of the human body. I was ashamed and embarrassed of my body after 2 babies that were born by C-section, an umbilical hernia that separated my stomach muscles and left me with a belly button that protruded out, I had a lot of excess fat and skin there as well; it's safe to say my stomach was badly misshapen and beyond recognizable. My breast were saggy and abused after nursing babies who refused to wean until 2. Three years after my 2nd and last child and I still looked pregnant in anything I wore. I had given up hope, I was ashamed of my body, I hated public outings, and I dreaded intimacy with my spouse, I was depressed. Dr. Colgrove gave me back my life, my self esteem, my belly button, and my figure. It's been 6 months now since my surgery, and I am back in the gym, I can wear the shirts that I want to wear now, instead of hiding my body in some horrible loose shirt, my husband's shirts, or maternity tops. I am happy with how I look for the 1st time in 10 years. Thank You Dr. Colgrove with all my heart! To live without hiding and being ashamed of myself; this is really living.
Sincerely,
Kerry

Thanks so much for sharing your opinion about your doctor.

I would love to add your experience to the Mommy Makeover community, but it would be helpful if you could provide some more detail about your experience with your procedure/treatment. I suggest adding pros and cons and/or before and after photos - optional of course, so that other community members can use your review as a guide through their journey.

Looking forward to your response so I can add your review to the Mommy Makeover community.

It was very uncomfortable and painful in the beginning, just like a first csection would be. It was hard to walk in an upright position for a month and a half. My tailbone and bottom hurt the worst, I would advise all to purchase memory foam mattress covers and double line your recliner with them! That helped me so much. Sleeping in a recliner for so long hurts your bottom worse than the surgery itself. after the first 3 days when you realize that you aren't going to die, and you look down at your new flat stomach that you haven't seen since you were 18, the light appears, and you say to yourself this was worth it. In the beginning you ask yourself what was I thinking, and you may even doubt your decision. But that goes away quickly when you are well enough to enjoy observing your new body. I knew what I was doing, I was well aware that it would not be easy or painless. The drainage bulbs were disturbing for people, but being in anatomy, I've seen worse. My muscles were pulled tight and the skin was tight, yes it was uncomfortable. Just be patient, it will pass. I have been in the gym for 15 years, so patience was hard for me. I wanted to get back in the groove of things right away, but you need to give your body time to heal so your don't damage the Dr.'s work. This is important, no matter how strong the pain medicine is, and you feel like you can get up and clean, or drive, DONT. wait until he says okay, or you will be spending more time and money fixing something you could've prevented. Be wise and realize if you are not hurting it is the pain medicine, your body is not ready to take on normal daily tasks! I was advised of all the pros and cons during a very thorough consultation. I made an informed decision. I studied online for both procedures for a while. I take my research on any topic very seriously. I am an honor student at my school so research is a top priority, especially when my own body is involved. I am quite modest so any pictures that you request, I would have my husband take and they'd have to be in form fitting clothes, not nude. Also it will be hard for me to find a before picture, because I was so embarrassed of my body that I hid from cameras, I wouldn't even take pictures with my kids. but I will look.......

Hello, I am writing on my wifes behalf to find out if, when and how to correct the surgery she had, I paid over $6000.00 for breast augmintation and lift, it was a gift. The surgery was done in Newport News, VA. I retire from the Navy in 6-8 mos. I want to find a doctor/surgen that is able to fix the mess of a surgury she received, this was suppose to be a great thing for her. She is in seveir pain, especially at night. How long have you known pain to continue on more months at a time, Any sugestions on getting this corrected I want to fix this, but only with the best surgen out there, I was going to do a tummy tuck and butt lift after this, but I don't want her in anymore pain, she is onboard with anything that would fix this, just not the butcher that did this surgey. Any assistance will be deeply appreciated, thank you, Jeff. If you can call to discuss possible corrective surgery, please call.. Thx again, Jeff 757-775-1028
