Getting Closer

I have chosen my date and surgeon. My surgery will take place on April 22nd, 2015 and will be done by Dr. Aisha McKnight-Baron. She has a wonderful spirit and she is very knowledgeable. I want to start uploading pictures but I am kind of nervous.

Back to the drawing board

I received an email around December 27th stating that Dr. Ashraf is no longer accepting BCBS after December 31st, 2014. So I am back at the drawing board and having to research yet again for a new plastic surgeon for my breast reduction. #FML

A www I'm so sorry to hear that. I was going to start researching her based on your comments but it's good to know because I also have bcbs insurance. Everything will work out.
Thanks so much Terebeau! Keep me posted on your findings.
You are most welcome. After some research I have found 3 PS that I'm going to schedule consults with to see who I feel more comfortable with. Drs. David Whiteman, Earl Stephenson and Elizabeth Morgan.
I had a spectacular experience with Dr. Marisa Lawrence in Atlanta. Had my reduction on Dec. 8, 2014, she is an awesome surgeon and I am very happy. Went from a HH to a B.

I got approved!

I recently got my approval letter in the mail. Today I talked to a genetic counselor for the brca 2 testing and I also gave blood for the test. I should get my results in two weeks. This test is the deciding factor on whether or not I get the breast reduction or a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

I had a BA with Dr Wang-Ashraf and she was wonderful! I'm so pleased with my results and the whole experience was better than I could've imagined. Good luck!
