Revision
I had my revision yesterday afternoon. Before I go into detail, I just want to say that Dr Colgrove is really great. I’ve read hundreds of reviews here about additional costs and issues with doctors not wanting to make corrections. Dr Colgrove did my revision at no cost to me. Additionally, I go in every month to get shots for my scars at no cost. My suggestion for ladies that plan on getting a lift is ask questions about revisions and scar therapy just in case you might need one.
For my revision surgery, I went in around 2:45 and was done at about 4. He did a wedge excision to lower my left nipple, so that it was more aligned with the right. I was given a Xanax, 2 pain pills and then he proceeded to numb the location. I was stitched up and sent on my way. The numbing shots were just a bit painful, but other than that I did not feel anything. Today I feel okay. The site is definitely sore and swollen, but not too bad.
I will post pictures of the results once the swelling goes down a bit.
I’m almost a year out from my origin surgery and I can finally say that it is with it. My breast took a long time to settle and that was the most stressful part for me. I thought it would be perfect a week out, but that was just unrealistic.
Thanks for following my journey.

I am so glad you have kept us updated!! You look good. I bet this revision will get you the results you want. I may have to have a revision as well. My right side didn’t drop fully.

I sent you a private message to ask you about your results. Maybe you don’t use the message function on this site. Just wanted to know how you were happy with the surgery after some time had passed.

Your results made me nervous so I think I am gonna go with Dr. Alderman at the swan center. I see that somebodysmama commenting also thinks she may have a revision. Just makes me nervous about Dr. Colgrove.

that’s completely understandable. just know that revisions for bl/ba are very, very common. Ask your doc who will be responsible for cost if you do need a revision in the future.

9 month post op
Hi Ladies. So I’m almost 10 months post op. I went to see the doctor yesterday. Up until this point we were talking about revising the lest breast to push it up a bit. However, now the doctor is recommended that I just move the left nipple down to make it more symmetrical to the right. At first I was very excited because that is way less invasive than the first option. But now I’m questioning that decision. The folds at the bottom are definitely different, but only slightly. I’m still worried about the left bottoming out. What do you all think?

I would do some research and get a second opinion and then go from there. The other doctor may suggest the same thing :)

Hi there, i’m not an M.D. but judging from your pics it does appear that the asymmetry may be more with the height of the areolas and not so much the implants. And simply pushing the left implant up may position the areola to a lower level creating more asymmetry with the height of the areolas. So to this extent I understand what you’re PS is suggesting, However I’m curious to know how he plans on “moving the areola down”. Did you ask for details? There are different methods of doing this - some better than others. And often times the “least invasive” and simpler is not the best method, imo. I also had areola height asymmetry. To correct this my PS completely revised the lift on my left side raising my left areola also pulling in the vertical incision to support the areola lift. A simpler method would’ve been simply to lift or lower one areola from the top or the bottom (by crescent method) to try and match the other side. However that would have also increased the size of my areola giving it a flatter appearance. My PS was completely aware of this, so he took the more complicated method to give me a nicer result. If you’re not comfortable with your PS’s suggestions I would get another opinion from board certified PS that specializes in breast lift revision surgery. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Best of luck to you on your journey! did you go to the same doctor? also is that something that is covered?

yes, I went to the same doc. He covers everything post surgery, including revision, without any additional cost.
