I was a 34B practically all my life except for periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding. I breast fed all four.
I put on 35lbs in last three years and the efforts to lose and then gain all back and more has left my boobs unsightly. I hate them! They depress me and my husband who is a breast guy is no longer allowed to look at them or touch them, I sleep with a tube top.
I haven’t seen any post with extreme sagging like mine.
I have scheduled surgery but since I signed on here, there is five negative reviews of the PS and warnings not to use him. The other doctor I consulted with made me uncomfortable. He nor his staff looked me in the face. They made me feel hideous. The other one with the bad reviews was excellent with both my husband and I.
I have put money down and post op is in two days!!! Help! Should I cancel and keep looking or address my concerns at post op?

Hiccups.. Must have anchor lift
globe711January 12, 2018
I have met with five. Put deposit twice and had to cancel the first for health reason and the second for scheduling.
I am now thinking that perhaps the universe is telling me to hold off.
I have narrowed it down to two that offer ideal implants with anchor lift. I dont like the idea of more scars because I always end up with darkened skin but for what I want them to look like that, gotta do it.
Ps... cost now at $9200.00
Has anyone hesitated for months after consultation?

Hi.. u should bring up all your concerns at your pre op appt. I literally had a list. I had a tummy tuck and re did my breast augmentation. As far as scars- yes u will have them. There are a lot of things we can do know to help them fade. At least u will have overall nice breast and will look awesome. I'd go for it. U know it's now or never. I wish I had done it sooner!!! Stay positive!!!

Thank you. I know you are right. Since my husband loves me the way I am, having a few scars won’t matter to him but will definitely up my confidence and should be fun! I have had to chose clothing based on my saggy breast. It will be fun to wear dresses that I like and that
Fits my personality not my breast shape...lol

Hi there, I went through a similar process as you. I consulted with four PS locally before putting a deposit down with one. I then canceled because I didn’t feel 100% confident with the PS. And that’s the key; you need to find a PS that you have 100% confidence in. I probably spent more time researching the PS I consulted with the actual procedure itself. Lol. And I finally found one although I had to travel for his services since he was in a different state.
Breast lift surgery is one of the most complicated surgeries out there; and it also has an extremely high revision. Unfortunately many people very naïvely assuming that any PS can perform this surgery. However looking at many of the BL results on these treatment boards gives credence to the fact that there are very few PS this country that can perform this surgery well, imo.
In any case if you’re concerned about scars find a PS that specializes in breast lift surgery and does flawless incision work. Most PS won’t tell you this but their incision work plays a huge role on how well your scars heal. The neater and more precise their incisions are the better your scars will heal. Other factors are of course your genetics, health and after care including scar therapy. I also have a genetic predisposition for getting hypertrophic scars so this was also a big concern for me. Good luck and wish you the best!

Forgot to mention: if you want to see my BL/BA results (or know who my PS is) click on my name to access my profile page and scroll down the list to find my “Shape over Size - Breast lift with implant downsize” review. Good luck.

Thank you! Your result looks awesome. I subscribe to that same school of thought.,.. shape over size. You did your homework.

You’re welcome. And thanks for the compliment. Btw, one of the reasons I was so picky is because my own sister who is also an M.D. had two botched breast lift surgeries. Kind of raises your paranoia level a little when you find out that even an MD can get botched breast lift! She actually tried to talk me out of doing it. But instead I just did my homework as you describe. Talk later. :-)

Yes girl. I’m in the same boat with the fear of scarring. How’s your recovery ?

Ok, biting the bullet!!!

After trying to decide, work out schedule etc, (and losing couple of deposits), I decided to go with ideal implant and Dr Colgrove.
My lab was done last week and that was a hoot. I went to Kaiser to get lab work and no one knew what bleeding time test was. I was told to come back four days later when head person was in and could possibly talk to lab.
Went back and lab(quest) was also puzzled. It would need to be done at a center up north within two hours. That was impossible since I am in GA. Someone finally called PS’s office and nurse told them an alternate procedure which they do thousands a day!!! Why?!? Smh.
Anyway all done awaiting results. Pre-op on tuesday. Hopefully hubby will be there to remind me of questions. Writing them down. Biggest one.. I don’t want anchor just lollipop lift. I am at point of making it a deal breaker.
Got my supplies
Kelo-cote
Biocorneum
Backrest pillow with arms
Arnica pellets 200cx
Scar away silicone strip
Front closure post surgery bras
Arnica tea
Iron liquids
Cooling gel back pillow and bottom seat
Just a few things I want to have handy.
Also getting three days of raw juice.
Surgery date 3/8/2018!!!

Wishing you the best! If your PS thinks an anchor (or small T) would give you a nicer shape I would go for it. I’m not an M.D. but from what I’ve read an anchor usually provides a nicer rounder shape. It also spreads the pressure of the incisions throughout the breast taking pressure off the areola and vertical incisions. No one really sees the anchor anyway since it’s hidden in the fold. It’s the vertical incision that’s the most noticeable and you want to do what you can to reduce any tension on that incision so it heals well. I had a full anchor myself. Absolutely no regrets. Good luck. :-)

Wow, that really helps. I was thinking the opposite. That the incision at the bottom makes it more susceptible to dropping because of pressure from the weight of implant.
Your explanation makes sense. I heard that the bottom one gives most problems in healing and scarring. I do want the shape more than anything else.
Thsnks for your input. Very helpful. I can’t believe I am finally doing it! Glad you are happy with yours.

Hi again, Glad I could be of help. I’ve seen issues with incisions in just about every possible location. I would personally be more concerned with wound healing issues in areas such as vertical or areolas incisions where the scarring would be in plain sight. One thing to take into consideration is the size/weight of the implant will put pressure on your incisions (at large) which can cause healing issues. For that reason I personally think it’s best to “err on the small” when combining implants with a breast lift. Just curious have you decided what size implants you’re going with? Regarding “dropping”: I’ve read bottoming out usually occurs more with a vertical incision (only) compared to a full anchor. I’m not an M.D. but if you think about it the a full anchor incision tightens the skin upward as well offering more support for the implant, imo. For more opinions on this matter you may want to post your concerns/questions in the “ask the doctor” section here. Once again wishing you the best! :-)
If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else! Seriously.
