For as far back as i remember I've always had issues with the way my abdomen area looked. I'm not a heavy person, and I exercise regularly so while I could mask it by dressing for my body type, it was an eye sore to me when naked/on the beach. I finally decided in October 2014 to have a consultation done in order to get a better understanding of how the liposuction process works and if I were a candidate. After my consultation with Dr. Colgrove at the Vinings Surgery Center (VSC) in Atlanta, Ga. I was ready to take the next step.
I wasn't nervous this morning because I new I was in good hands. Robin immediately brought me into what would be my room for my time at VSC and explained everything that she was doing as we went along. She was the sweetest nurse ever and made me feel even more comfortable. Dr. Colgrove came in a little while later and marked up the areas that he would be working on before sending in Steve the anesthesiologist in. Steve was very professional and effective. I didn't feel a thing as he set up my IV.
I was then taken into the surgery suite and then it was lights out. I did not see/hear/feel a thing during my procedures and I was very surprised to wake up in the post - op suite. Once again I was treated with lots of TLC before heading out.

Day 1-4 Recovery
PJROENovember 18, 2014
The last couple of days have consisted of lots of sleeping and watching movies. I can't say that I've experienced any real pain. There is a bit of soreness but I've experienced worse after a strenuous ab workout so I am definitely not complaining. My swelling also hasn't been very bad which I believe is due to my "drainy thingie" (I forgot what it's called). So far so good, I am excited to see how things look as my swelling goes down.

Drain removed PO day 6
PJROENovember 22, 2014
Today was an exciting day for me. I had my procedure on a Thursday and returned to work the next Monday. I sit at a desk all day so there were no issues with me returning to work, the hardest part was finding ways to conceal my drain and the bulb. Loose dresses and blazers did the trick.
Before removing the drain I was given the option to have the area numbed which I graciously accepted so I did not have any pain. There was some drainage from the hole throughout the rest of the day but i put a maxi pad over it to catch the fluid and that worked for me. By the time I got home about 8 hours after the drain was removed, the hole was already closed up. I have to wear my binder one more week until I'm cleared to wear a spanx like garment. Any suggestions?
