I am 9 days post op and I am recovering quite well. I have been wanting this procedure since I was 15 years old. 17 years later I finally made it happen. Since I live in Queens it was easy to get to Doctors Plastic Surgery in Astoria. I saw the ads on the subway cars and said, "why not?". So I scheduled my first consultation back in May 2016. I met with Dr. Bruck for the first time. During the consultation I was asked what my goals and expectations were, also if I had any photos to use as an example. I was a 34AA, 130 lbs 5'4" athletic build. I told Dr. Bruck that I am an active person and that I wanted to achieve a 34DD size. He looked at me and without hesitation said, "That's very unlikely" . First of all I didn't have enough skin to cover that implant size and i had to consider the implant sub pectoral with the possibility to moving fat from my back to the top of my breasts since I was very active. I then thought about breast feeding and how I was certain I wanted the implant to go under my muscle. I had to reschedule another meeting and I did. I came back 3 months after. I decided to go with Dr. Bruck because I felt he was the most trustworthy, seasoned, and honest surgeon. I did see 2 others and I had a pleasant experience with the receptionists, nurses and coordinator Chelsey over at Doctors Plastic Surger. I valued their customer service and professionalism. The facilities were very clean and only a 7 minute drive from my apartment.
I saw Dr. Bruck for my pre op and he decided that 350cc MP Mentor Smooth Round was the best choice. I knew that the 400cc - 425cc fantasy wasn't going to be the best choice so I parted ways with it. I became comfortable with the end result of my BA sizing to a 32D or 34C. It meant that I would have just enough projection and volume without overcompensating. I was ready.
At my pre-op appointment I was given my scar gel ointment, surgical bra and helpful and informative literature about my procedure.
The day of my surgery I reported to the site at 9:30AM. The night before I stopped eating and drinking at 10PM. My nerves were so shot I didn't even think about hunger or thirst but it's obviously for ones safety when going under general anesthesia. When I checked in I changed into my hospital gown and the friendly, smiley nurse took my vitals. I had a chat with the anesthesiologist and felt comfy with him. Finally, Dr Bruck came into talk more about what he was doing one last time. I was put at ease 100%. When I walked into the operating room I knew there was no turning back.
When I woke up I remembered feeling like I got punched in my chest. I was so sore and swollen but very groggy from the morphine that was given to me at the time of surgery. Thank goodness for that. I also wasn't as nauseous but I knew I was dehydrated. I got my instructions for my prescriptions and was rolled away to the uber. The next day Dr. Bruck saw everything was ok but I felt so winded. I followed my medication regimen and by day 6 stopped. All I have been doing has been absolutely nothing. The most was to take 15-20 minute walks outside a day and it has been great.
Dr. Bruck is the one to thank really. I recommend him to any woman who wants to undergo plastic surgery. He's very straightforward. I trust him and everyone at Doctors Plastic Surgery. My experience from a scale of 1-10, 10 being the greatest it would be a perfect 10.
I love my breasts and i know they are perfect.

This is wonderful to hear. You are in great hands. It was quiet a journey and it's only the beginning. The psychological and physical really stirred my emotions. But now it's a walk in the park. Keep us posted here. It's also therapeutic to write about it and utilize the RealSelf community knowing you have an immense amount of support.

I'm very nervous and I get paranoid because I want to have a great experience like you. During the consultation he was very informative and honest. How bad was your pain the first three days ?? I am taking 10 days off of work and then going back limited duty. I've always wanted this surgery for many years because I feel very uncomfortable about my breast!

I think 10 days is good but I needed more time since I'm a bartender and I shake cocktails at work. How many cc's are you going and is it under or over? The first 3 days were rough but you won't really feel as much because you will be on pain meds and muscle relaxers. The moment you wake up from surgery will be one of those bittersweet moments. I was glad I "went through it" so I felt like a badass. But the pain is a whole other story. It was at a 8. But keep in mind that your body is experiencing trauma so it's natural reaction would be to reject it, but with the antibiotics given and morphine injected into your IV , the body gets accustomed to the changes slowly but surely. Don't be paranoid. Meditate and think positive thoughts. A strong mind set can really boost your energy. Keep thinking of you finally getting what you've wanted for so long. In the end it's what you've ultimately worked hard for so now enjoy it! You're going to look a feel fabulous.

He suggested either 400 or 450 under the muscle as well as a breast lift. I originally wanted a breast lift and he suggested I get both the breast lift and implants because they are deflated from my weight loss. Dr. Bruck said the implant would only be to restore the volume i have lost due to sagging. I am currently a 36c, so he said I will remain a c up. I am a police officer so I will be desk duty for a while about 4 weeks. I pray every night, I think of the clothes I will finally be able to wear in a few months . I am also trying to loose more weight

You are going to look great! I wish I had more skin to support larger CC's but then I would have to alter the certain things I wanted. I wouldn't compromise going over for under and going high profile. But all in all I'm beyond please. My breasts are taking it's shape each day and I'm returning to work tomorrow. You will have a great recovery and all things positive.

Hi, I just had my surgery this past Wednesday with Dr, Bruck. Everything looks great, but my chest feels very tight and heavy. Is this normal? I also feel fairly sluggish and sleep a lot. I wanted to cut the oxycodone out but I feel like they do help manage the pain very well. Was this the same for you?
