Botched Job X 2 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
I am writing this review to help others. I would not trust this doctor with any surgery on the face including double eyelid or rhinoplasty. He is not skilled in those areas. I would 100% NOT recommend this doctor.
I should have done more research on him which I failed to do and that is completely my fault. I chose him because someone spoke so highly of him, but I should have sought out more opinions and reviews about him. Upon this botched disaster surgery, I spoke with others who are completely unhappy as well. I should have done this BEFORE having surgery with him. Going to him is the biggest regret of my life as he has botched both my eyes and nose. He has permanently damaged my eyes and I can never get them fixed as he cut off too much skin. With my eyes, he worked on them 3 times to fix his botched job, but all were failed results. As a result of his botched work, I can no longer close my eyes when I sleep.
I liked my nose before in terms of height, shape, and length. I only wanted to build up my tip.
Results:
Not only did Dr. Kim put in a L implant that was too big/long for my face, he made my nostrils flare, which I never had a problem with before, AND most horrible of all, he made my nose completely diagonal/slanted, which caused my left nostril to collapse. My left nostril hole became barely visible as it was pushed to one side. Since Dr. Kim made my nose crooked, my right nostril became higher than my left side. In addition, a huge bump formed on the right side of my nose from scar tissue, and the tip of my nose drooped because of the lack of support in the tip. His response was always it was due to swelling. A couple months later, when he finally realized it was not due to swelling, he manually pushed my nose to one side to straighten it but made it even worse. He said I will have to live like that for one year and he will do a revision.
A year later, he did a revision, but my nose is STILL diagonal and slanted with collapsed nostrils and droopy tip. My nose does not line up with my cupid bow, and my nostrils are collapsed.
This doctor does not know how to perform rhinoplasty based on people's specific needs. He only knows how to do a generic L shaped implant rhinoplasty for all cases regardless of needs, face shape, etc. He writes that he does cartilage work on the tip but all that means is he may move cartilage around, but ultimately, he is just placing a generic one size fits all L implant on top as was the case with my rhinoplasty. That is not acceptable as everyone's faces are different AND that will do no good if he does not work on the foundation holding up the tip. I brought this up to him and even presented information about the foundation and what the other doctors whom I consulted with told me and he gave excuses about why that was not true.
This doctor also does not take responsibility for his mistakes. He blames everyone else besides himself. For example, when I asked him why my nose flares, he said post rhinoplasty my cheek muscles got stronger. He really said that!! I consulted two other doctors and they both said the reason my nostrils flare is because the L implant he put in is too long and so stiff that my nostrils can't move naturally and can only hike upwards. Both doctors said the L implant is not a correct fit for my face, was crooked, caused additional multiple problems, and will need a revision.
My nose was and still is an OBVIOUSLY complete botched job, but since Dr. Kim refused to admit it, I had to pay other doctors' consultation fees to get their opinion, which aligned exactly with my opinion and present it to him. He will make up ridiculous excuses and become annoyed when you point out his obviously botched results.
Dr. Kim is generally a nice person. However, he is not skillful, and I deeply regret having surgery with him.
