I had a facelift and necklift and upper eyelid surgery with Dr Steve Kim in Beverly Hills. A friend of mine had it done two months ahead of me. We both saw Caroline Stanbury from Real Housewives of Dubai and Catt Sadler's results and were just amazed. It has been six months and I absolutely love my results. I had a lot of skin on my neck and my skin on the lower part of my cheeks and jaw were plain unsightly. Dr. Kim did a great job of explaining the procedure and guiding me though the process. His suturing was meticulous. I do a lot of sewing my self so I can tell. I can barely see the scars!
It has been a year so now I can confidently write a review about my surgery results and experience. First of all Dr Kim is a very genuine person. He never pushes you or tries to have you do procedures you don't need. I felt he really was looking out for me. The girls in the office are most of the time nice, friendly and helpful. It does get busy there sometimes and you have to wait...it's not easy being one of the top korean plastic surgeons in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. About my surgery. I had my eyes and nose done. Eyes were a revision surgery. Had it done twice in ktown and wasn't happy with the results. I was so sad, don't want to even think about it. Dr Kim worked miracles on my eyes. I really did loose my self confidence before I had my eyes fixed. He also worked on my nose and fit the shape perfectly for my face. I get compliments from everyone and I tell everyone who did the beautiful work. Only thing now he's gonna be more busy.
I've been to all the known plastic surgeons in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. OK not all, but to a lot of them. I wanted to do my eyelids (yes I am asian and have monolids) and my nose (yes my nose is kinda on the low side and the tip slightly wide). Dr. Kim was the only surgeon who seemed like he knew what I wanted. In the Asian community, Dr Steve Kim is really really popular. I actually heard about his clinic from two friends, my nail girl and my aunt's friend. Well, it's been a little over four months and I love love the results. The eyes took a bit of time to heal, but the nose healed really fast. I still can't wear my sunglasses yet (gotta wait 6 months - 2more to go). One quick note of warning, if you make a deposit for surgery, it is not refundable. They clearly tell you this upfront and honestly, all the places I went to have the same deposit policy. Anyways, back to my review, did I mention I love love my results? Thank you so much Dr Kim, you truly are the BEST!!!!
ORIGINAL YELP REVIEW POSTED 2/3/21: This review is at 5 days Post-Op Breast Revision. First, let me say Dr. Kim and his staff are 10/10. During my consultation, Dr. Kim took his time listening to me, educated me and also gave me many options. He was very calm, extremely attentive and was very clear, ''you do not have to make a decision right now." he was not pushy at all. He made sure to explain very thoroughly, silicone vs. saline implants and also explained the process of pocket revision. I was able to call in at a later time when I did decide, and schedule surgery. The process was extremely smooth. From Pre-Op to Post-Op, the Dr. ran on time, I've never waited too long. Surgery date came and his OR team was wonderful! The nurse was caring, the anesthesiologist was friendly and everyone was very lively at 630am! They definitely made sure I was warm, comfortable and put my nerves at ease. Dr. Kim was replacing my 15 year old saline implants that were poorly placed, putting in silicone implants and giving them new firm pockets to sit in. During my 1day Post-Op, he was so kind to take extra time to explain what my previous surgeon did incorrectly and his findings during surgery. Again, doing a phenomenal job of educating his patients. He gave me the results I wanted but as important, explained the process of getting there. I cannot say enough honest, kind things about Dr. Kim and his practice.
Best doctor out there! Dr. Steve Kim is the one and only doctor I will ever trust. He not only is a very very talented and knowledgeable doctor but is also a very nice, caring, and a genuine person. I’ve been going to him for as long as I’ve been in LA now. He makes sure that nothing is too much. As opposed to other doctors who will let you get as much Botox as you want just for the money, regardless of what it might look like.He makes you look as natural as possible in every procedure he does. I never thought I would ever trust anyone with my face but he is the one doctor I will trust. Every procedure I have done with him including Botox and fillers has been the best decision I’ve ever made!I am also scheduling a breast implant revision next with him and have no doubts about it since I trust him so much. All the staff there at his office are amazing as well!!! They will always make you feel welcome there.
Stunning results my eyelids look so natural. Trustworthy doctor thats honest with feedback & doesn’t sugarcoat things. Would highly recommend! The healing was a fun process surprisingly as I was pumped to see the final results.
Had eyes and nose done by Dr Kim. So far love the results. He takes his time and really explains everything. Felt really comfortable with Dr Kim and his staff. I knew he would do a great job as a couple of my friends who went to him first really loved their results. He is the IT doctor in the Korean community.
I went back and forth on having this procedure for about 7 years. Finally got the courage to do it. I'm happy I did it. I wish I'd done a little more research on choosing a size as I now feel like I should have gone up about 25-50 more cc. But overall I am happy. It's been a little over 5 weeks and I'm happy to be able to stretch my arms and hold myself up , etc. Now it's all about Palmers stretch mark concentrated cream and DermaE scar gel. No stretch marks yet. And of course I'll need more time to give a report of the scar.
One of the best decisions in my life....breast augmentation surgery. Love the way they look and feel. The whole procedure from start to finish was a breeze. Consulted with four other surgeons. Dr Kim made me feel the most comfortable. Besides that two of my closest friends had it done with him also.
I did not have upper eyelid crease.
Swelling from asian eyelid surgery (especially from the incisional type) may take as long as 6 months to fully recover. A lot of the swelling will come down by 3 to 4 months. But final results with all of the swelling coming down and the incision line fully softening up takes 6 months. Recovery is much quicker for the non-incision technique.
I recommend starting full exercise only after six weeks. I do however encourage patients to stay active from 2 weeks post operation. I restrict exercises where the abdominal muscle is fully stressed for 6 months.
The mons pubis appearing enlarged after a tummy tuck can be due to a variety of reasons. Swelling at the mons may take longer than the rest of the abdomen to resolve as this is the most dependent (bottom-most) part of the surgical field. Gravity pulls fluid downwards. If it does not resolve with time (3-4 months), then one must consider excess persistent excess fat. Prior to the tummy tuck procedure, one may not have noticed the amount of fat present at the mons pubis, as the amount of fat and skin just above the mons may have obscured this or it blended in well with the excess fat and skin present above the mons. As the excess skin and fat is removed, the thinner upper abdominal skin (from above the umbilicus) is brought down, there may be a step-off deformity at the new abdominal skin-mons junction. This is usually addressed during the tummy tuck surgery by either by removing the excess fat present at the mons pubis by either direct excision or liposuction. If the problem persists beyond 3-4 months, you may want to consider reduction of the the mons pubis by liposuction. If there is excess skin at the mons pubis then reduction by direct excision is recommended.
Although a facelift would provide the definitive solution, there are other modalities if used for the right indications that can provide marked improvements. Lasers such as Thermage (radiofrequency) and Titan (infrared) can provide some dermal tightening with stimulation of callagen synthesis. Yet, one can not expect results similar to a facelift. At best, they provide some minor improvements in skin elasticity and minor skin tightening. Fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse can provide volume, which can counteract loss of facial volume that accompanies age and contribute to the sagging appearance of skin. These fillers are temporary and require re-injections at regular intervals (6 months for juvederm and restylane and 1 yr for radiesse). Permanent fillers are also available such as Artefill - but I usually reserve this for the veteran patient who has prior injection experience. Then, there are other surgical options other than a straight facelift. These include:
