Dr. Apostolakis made Asian girl's dream nose!

ORIGINAL POST

39 Asian girl wanting a refine and elegant nose

Ms. Saigon
WORTH IT$6,900
I chose my doctor bc he only specializes on the facial plastic surgery with ENT experience. I met him last year, August 2016. He explained exactly how he would raise the bridge of my nose and rotate my nose; as well as perform turbines surgery. Since I had surgery in the military for sleep apnea, he wanted me to get my medical records before proceeding with the operation; however, that surgery was done 20 years ago and it's hard to locate my medical record book. I wasn't 100 percent sure I wanted a permanent change to my nose so I opted for an injection to my nose to see if I wanted to commit to the nose surgery. After seeing before and after pictures of my nose, I booked surgery with him bc I have confidence that he can achieve a natural nose for my facial features. He's not fake but not very warm either, so don't expect him to be super sweet. Just knows he's cut and dry but in a good way. He's like a nerd trapped in a hot doctors body. Lmbo. I will post pictures if before and after injection once I get it from him.

Your pics with the injection looks great. You are beautiful! I like that your surgeon also did the injections so he knows what you want to look like and he knows what he augmented with the filler. The filler is not great longterm bc it can cause granulomas and start sliding since it stacks poorly over time. I am happy for you to be able to do this.

Thank you so much! Yes, I think having him inject me helped him as well. In the beginning he recommended narrowing my alar something? (Wing of the nose). Unless my nose was really wide, I really did not think I needed it. With the bridge being raised up, I think it helped with the sides. I asked him not to cut the sides until later after surgery, if we decided I still needed it. It's bad fengshui to take away from the sides (money flow). Lol. My friends thinks I do not need it and they do not see a difference, but I do so I'm going through with it. Praying for great outcome. I thought might as well fix my breathing problem as well and tune up for my 40th and wedding.

I talked to two surgeons and they both said I didn't need to do an alar base reduction because once the tip is more projected, the alar base won't flare so much when we smile. One surgeon said I can use q tips in each nostril to lift my nose forward to see what the base will look like once the tip is projected.

Haha, I just went to try the Q-tip projection. I like it.

Sorry Yenlan74, I took all my pictures down bc of an [RS bleep] comment from a man that had a problem that I refer to girls when posting about my outcome.

Ms. Saigon
Came into the office today to sign preop papers for my rhinoplasty 4/24/2017. Met with Missy, his nurse first. She was super supportive and explained how to care for my nose (she will show me after my surgery as well). Dr. A did her nose as well and it looks great.
My procedure will be different bc I'm adding to my nose bridge with ear cartilage and nose septum.
The worse case would be that I do not have septum to rotate my nose since I had the military doctor perform surgery by cutting out my uvala (excuse spelling, but the hanging thing in the back of the throat) and supposedly reduced my turbines?

Since I have never had plastic surgery to my nose; I'm hoping that's not the case so that I have nose septum cartilage bc it's stronger to hold the tip and derotate it.

If he was to cut out the top part of my tip cartilage than my nose would rotate upwards more which I do not want.

Dr. A is very good at explaining how and why; therefore,I was very assured today.
I wanted to make sure we were on the same page; which, we are.
Worse case - limitation without nose septum:
Higher bridge with ear cartilage (possibly both ears)
Lengthen nose
Which would still make me a happy patient, since the injections did everything menton.
The pro would be that my nose bridge would be actually taller by 2mm since injection can only do so much to the bridge.
Hope I'm making sense and that this helps anyone on the fence.
Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult surgery to perform; so I did my due diligence before deciding on Dr. A bc other doctors in Austin recommendation seemed off. One doctor want to break my nasal bone and put gortex implant for bridge (high infection rate). Asian nose bone should not be broken. Another doctor recommended what Dr. A recommended; however, his patients postoperative pictures not enhance their beauty. Their imperfect nose was actually better suited to them than his postoperative nose. Please meet with a few and read up on real self or ask questions from other surgeons for input. I decided to pick a doctor in austin since peace of mind is very important to me. God forbid if anything were to go south that Dr. A can care for me. I know there are cheaper options overseas but I'm just not willing to take that chance. My fiancé loves my nose now, everyone's said that they like the nose I have now. I'm turning 40 and my wedding is this September, so I'm giving myself a tune up. lol I picked April 24 bc it was a good fengshui date for surgery as well.

Good luck and thanks for posting!!! I am in the very beginning stages of research and will also be approaching 40 and always wanted a rhinoplasty. I am Vietnamese with the typical wide nostrils and low bridge nose. I am debating between rib and silicone to build the bridge. Also getting consults all over
Thanks and keep us posted please.
April 15, 2017
You're welcome. Checkout Dr. Yoo for rib rhinoplasty (he's in California), $15-$16K. If you've never had a nose job, research how cartilage from septum and ear is enough to build bridge and tip. Make sure the doctor only does facial plastic, ENT (you want nicer but functional nose). With silicon I've read to many revision stories. Look at their work to see what kind of improvement they were able to achieve for patients.

Thank you! I have consults with Dr.Yoo and Dr.Lee in a few months. I lIve on the East Coast, so willing to travel anywhere. My brother and best friend live in Austin. I love that you picked a good Feng Shui date...you are going to do awesome!
April 15, 2017
Keep me posted! Are you going to post some pictures now before surgery? I will post pictures of before and after nose injection, let me know if you see a difference? Injections can only so much, with surgery he will be able to lengthen my nose, 2mm to bridge and derotate my nose a little.

Ms. Saigon
Dr. Apostolakis injected my nose to give my bridge more definition. He was very gentle and skilled with the injections, bc it did not hurt. I did not tell my fiancé or friends, but they just thought I lost weight, even though I weighed a few pounds more, lol. My nose injection was in November. It finally went down. After we did a side by side review, I knew I wanted the surgery from Dr. A. I've already had 2 consultations with other doctors in the area.
