I chose the option to have a surgery in town instead of flying to Korea. I sincerely regret my decision. Dr. Lau did not recommend the proper procedure ie. Epicanthoplasty and completely botched my eyelid surgery. I had no creases afterwards for 2 weeks following the surgery, when normally a crease should be apparent immediately afterwards. It was clear that the surgery was a failure but nothing could be done about it. I was told to wait for the swelling to subside but every day caused so much grief and anxiousness. I am more self-conscious now because of the scars, which are hypertrophic and have red bumps. Dr. Lau did not take my questions or concerns seriously and caused me a lot of pain during surgery and during stitch removal. For 3 months I lived with uneven eyes and now both creases have failed. I look like I did before surgery except with extra scar lines. Incision surgery is very hard to come undone, but for some reason with Dr. Lau it was very easy. It was all a complete waste of time and money and I will have to do the procedure over due to scarring. Dr. Lau is very inexperienced and unprofessional; he should not be doing plastic surgery.

Hello Hikarinelle, i recommend you go and see dr Chase Lay in san jose. Heard he is very good with revision, he also care about your result and will not dismiss your questions. Should check him out for second opinion. Let me know how things go, i feel your stress.

Thanks! Are you having your revision with him? I was considering him and other docs in the States but am planning on going to Korea for revision.

Yes i am planning on having my revision with him and I'm from Australia. I think you are closer to him than me. Should see him first, korea is good but you have to know which doctor to go to and i still hear good and also bad comments about surgery in korea with popular clinnics. How many months post surgery are you now? Maybe talk to dr lay first before you go to korea, if he cant fix it he will tell you, he wont be going after your money (too busy). Can i ask what state are you living in?

I'm in Canada (BC). Would love to get his opinion too but unfortunately can't afford to take too many trips. I'm going to consult with a clinic that specializes in revision surgery with good credentials so hopefully it will all be fine!

Thank you so much for your review! I almost went to him for my double eyelids because he is the only surgeon near me that will perform the surgery on someone under 18 yo. I've decided to just wait a bit longer to be safe. Hope all goes well for you!

Dear Hikaribelle, I had the same problem with you. My eyes was a failure left with visible scar and its really stressing me out. Where and when will you do revisional surgery? I hope everything goes well. Do you want to get in touch? I am worried and nervous to get revisional surgery. Probably thinking to go to Korea too, but incisional surgery is hard to fix and will leave visible scaring. Really regret my decision.
