3 year (almost) update after face/neck lift with Dr. Harley

Calgirl2017
WORTH IT$6,400
It has been almost 3 years since my procedure with Dr. Harley. I am in my 60's and still very pleased with the results. There is slight loosening of the skin on the right side just under my jawline but the skin is overall smooth. No makeup except lipstick. Photos taken today with my iphone. I continue to get botox about every 3 months and have had some fillers a few times to maintain.

I thought I would check in as I am nearly six months post surgery. My surgery was in October 2017.
I'm still very happy with the procedure. I think it has held up extremely well with only some slight softening. I haven't had any fillers since October; I have had Botox around my eyes since then. When I have some time, I intend to get fillers around the sides of and below my mouth.
I was off work under two weeks. I really rested and relaxed in Asheville. When I came home, I waited 10 weeks before going back to my boot camp type exercise classes. Only my family knew I was having surgery and no one seemed to notice which was great. I held my breath until recently as I was worried that I would start seeing sagging skin again as I neared 4, 5 and then 6 months. I'm starting believe that it is going to hold up for the long-term.
I completely recommend getting this surgery. Dr. Harley's results are the best I have seen anywhere. So many doctors just can't get the neck right and I think it is an area that is difficult to fix. My local dermatologist is recommending Dr. Harley to her patients now.
I receive many compliments about how I look and no one ever guesses my age.
The pictures are taken today; obviously no touching up; just normal pictures with an iphone.

3 week post surgery update and pictures

Calgirl2017
Its been 3 weeks since my surgery on October 26th. I'm thrilled with my results and feeling very well. The last few days I have noticed I have a lot less swelling and tight feeling in my cheeks.
I initially had a very blocked/plugged right ear along with some increasing ear pain on that side after I returned home. Dr. Harley started me on additional antibiotics last week in case an infection was going on. The issue is definitely clearing up. The past 2 days have seen a significant improvement.
Other than the clogged ear feeling, I have been healing very well. I am using the tape on my incisions 24 hours a day. It blends in with my skin so I have continued to wear it at work. The tape around my ears is hidden by my hair and it's difficult to see the tape under my chin. The incisions in front of my ears look great and would be easily covered by minimal makeup at this time. The scars behind my ear still feel bumpy and raised but I believe they will flatten out over time.
I still feel extremely numb in front of my ears. The area under my chin is sensitive and slightly sore if I touch the skin there.
I don't plan to start my vigorous exercise or yoga until I'm 2 months out but I am walking and doing normal household type chores.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Harley's and his surgical skills. My neck and jawline look perfect. I am so pleased. I can't recommend him enough. In addition, I found him and everyone in his office to be among the kindest, caring and sweetest people I have ever met. When I had concerns about my ear, Dr. Harley called me immediately. I was on a conference call at the time and he called me back again. I wish I lived closer to his office!
In summary, the procedure was easy. I slept most of the first day. I needed pain medication only for a day and a half. I took it easy and rested completely the first 8 days while in Asheville and flew home on day 8. I went back to work the next week but didn't push myself. I have been serious and intentional about the healing process. I've made sure to sleep 8 hours at night and not overdo on anything. I slept propped up until the last 2 nights but am still sleeping on my back and will continue to do that.
Anyone considering this particular procedure should not hesitate to schedule with his office. I am so happy with my results.

Yes, that’s exactly what I have done. I generally have an upbeat attitude. I also had realistic expectations. I know i don’t look like my 20 year old daughter but I’m really thrilled with the results of the biltmore lift. Best of luck to you in April.

you look incredible & you're healing amazingly well - cannot believe your scars already! Thanks for posting review & pictures - it's going to be an adjustment not working out but walking, like you said is a good alternative

Thanks you!

Wow, your scar healing is nothing short of miraculous. That's really crazy. Are you wearing coverup and or photoshop? I ask this respectfully as my scars don't look that good after 13 weeks. Even with Biocorneum cream 2 times a day. I taped religiously for the first 6 weeks.

Hi MarySang, When I took the pictures of the scars in front of my ears, for the first time since surgery, I used my Revision intellishade tinted moisturizer and just a dab of glo-minerals concealer in natural to see what they would look like. I defintely wouldn't use photoshop for pictures in this forum! In person, if you look closely, you cannot tell I have makeup or concealer on and the scars are almost invisible. I love those two products. When I remove the tape tho, the scars in front of my ears are a very thin flat pink line. The scars behind my ears are lumpy and bumpy. I believe they will mostly flatten out over time. I have long hair and rarely wear it up so the scars behind my ears don't bother me regardless of how they turn out.
November 19, 2017
thanks for the coverup tip! can I ask how long you wore the mepitac tape for? I guess it's ok to put on makeup without the tape after a while? do you think you ate/took any supplements that helped you heal faster?
November 19, 2017
Thanks for your reply and the concealer tips. I've had good luck with Bye Bye Redness by IT Cosmetics but haven't found anything to conceal my eye scar. I'll try your version, maybe mine is too thick.

I’m planning on using the tape the full 8 weeks. I’m taking b vitamins and extra c. I tend to heal quickly or get over viruses quickly in general so that might just be genetics. I really rested the first 8 days and have stayed low stress, kept my work hours reasonable and made sure I got enough sleep. Some combination of that seems to be working for me.
November 19, 2017
Thanks. that's what I plan to do too. I usually do 2g of vit c per day & b12 & b6 - do you mind me asking how much vit c & particulars of the b vits? so true about sleep & rest - hope I can sleep sitting up

Hi MarySang, it your bye bye redness from Canada? it only comes in 1 shade from what I can tell & US has 3 shades - gets good reviews, as does the revision - does it just work for redness or bruising as well?
November 20, 2017
You can buy it at Sephora, in Canada. Yes, it only comes in one shade here so I have to be careful to only cover the scars, not my whole face or else I end up looking like a Geisha. I'm not sure if it works for bruising. I bought it about 4 weeks after my surgery. I didn't know the US had 3 shades.
November 20, 2017
thanks! I noticed that it's suppose to be good for under eye darkness as well so maybe good for bruising. I have no idea what shade so I'll stick w/the CA site
November 20, 2017
I've tried it on my under eye darkness and I'm not impressed with the product for that. It might just be me though. It seems it's better for redness than dark shades.
