Still pleased :-)

I just wanted to post for anyone wondering how I'm feeling about the procedure and wanted to say it was money well spent. I still have a bit of a crease in my upper lip when I smile largely but that doesn't bother me near as much as my droopy face once did. When I walk by a mirror, I appreciate the work done. I took my pictures down for privacy but if you're interested in seeing anything, please send me a message and I will respond when time permits.
Dr. Harley and his sweet staff were super friendly and professional.

My awkward mouth

I neglected to post a pic of my awkward looking mouth when I smile too widely. Notice the crease above my upper lip. I'm drinking lots of water to keep my skin plump. I'm also using a heavy moisturizer, Epionce Medical Barrier Cream) and lip balm on top of my lipstick.

More than a month post op

With school ending, teacher clean up, graduations, traveling, and a practicum I'm currently attending, I've been busy. But I still wanted to take the time to share what I've experienced so far since the reviews on RS have been so helpful to me.

I am Very happy with my jawline. My concerns are the asymmetrical appearance in my face with one side appearing slimmer and the other fuller. My husband notices this, which to me, means it's rather obvious. He hasn't noticed my "Joker" smile (which is causing a crease above my upper lip) as much as I have (or as one of my students mentioning it), along with my smile being slightly crooked. It was concerning at work to see others studying my face while conversing with them. I could see their eyes darting left, right, up, and down. I have tried to keep my expressions tame so that the tighter muscles aren't amplifying any strange appearances. Thankfully, school is out now and strangers don't seem to look at me in the same way but I'm still practicing keeping my expressions tame.

I have over 60 reviews of patients that have gone to Dr. Harley and I keep going back to them to see if others have experienced what I have. I read lionwoman's review as she had a crooked smile for some time but it seemed to eventually resolve on it's own. Kimberly7949 also had the asymmetrical issue but she has not posted any updates lately. I have more to revisit, but I'm just trying to be patient in the meantime. If you know of any that I should read, please let me know.

I have been following the post op instructions, keeping the tape on constantly except for a few special events. I ran out of the Mepitac brand and bought ScarAway tape while waiting for my shipment to arrive. It was always coming loose and my little students kept letting me know.

I still sleep upright but with a couple pillows. I don't want to jeopardize anything so I've just become used to sleeping this way. I have also attempted to return to my exercise routine of high intensity interval training. But I did back off if I felt a strain in the surgical areas. So it was more like low intensity interval training.

I'm currently looking for makeup that won't settle into my fine lines. If anyone knows of a great product, please comment.

I'll keep posting of my progress. I'm sure things will turn out better eventually. I'm not overly concerned, but more curious as to if and when these things will resolve.
