Dr. Anderson Must Have Been the Inspiration Behind "The Matrix" Because He is THE ONE!
I cannot express how grateful I am to have had the top guy in the world do my surgery. I have so many thoughts about this experience, and I have learned so much along the way. The number one thing I would say in terms of advice is to take no less than a year to do your research. Do not do this on an impulse. Although I am only 32, I have dreamed about doing this for at least 5 years now (I have never had a great hairline even before any hairloss) but only seriously contemplated it for the past year. A year ago, I almost had this done by someone more local to me. This surgeon also did a number of other surgeries, not focused like Dr. Anderson, and looking back probably did not know how to use ARTAS - certainly not as well as Dr. Anderson who trains surgeons around the world how to use this technology. This other doctor no longer offers this procedure... I am so glad I took more time to do some research before having this done. Let me explain why…
If you do your research on this procedure, you will learn that it is not well regulated even in the states and further, few know how to use the robot well. This should honestly scare you. It scared me. One thing that stood out to me was Dr. Anderson's reputation across the board - there are many people in this industry but few that everyone can agree does the best work. Ask anyone in the industry. This is why I got a consultation with him.
Having the surgery done only two weeks ago, I am now so grateful that I had this done by the most trustworthy person in the industry. I remember arriving, and not much else for the rest of the day. Certainly no pain at any point. I think I must have been completely asleep for at least 8 hours. Keep in mind, you are really leaving your life in the hands of the surgeon and team that you choose - and I have to also mention that Dr. Anderson's entire team is just incredible. They also offered to help me take the dressings off and clean my scalp the next day. I would have been terrified to do this on my own. They sent me home with a cute little surgical hat so no one would know the wiser. After having this done and experiencing all of this, no way in hell would I leave the country for this surgery no matter how much I could save.
I cannot wait to see the results. I have an entirely different hairline that is perfect for me and very natural, and Dr. Anderson also worked much further back than I expected, which I really appreciated. He is not just trying to cram through as many of these as he can per year, he really is working to get the best possible result for every single person. I think Nick Jonas will be jealous of my hairline. This next month or so will be the most painful part for me because a buzzcut is really not my style, but as you can see in the picture here in the gym, only two weeks later, no one would really know I had anything done. Actually a lot of people really like the buzzcut on me though... In fact I went on a date on this day (two-week mark) and didn't feel too worried about it. You could tell in harsh lighting if you really knew what to look for, but otherwise no way.
Finally, as a professional musician, I have to mention that I have respect for Dr. Anderson on the level of another world-class artist. He has an eye for this that I don't claim to understand. My results seem so natural, not cookie-cutter. There is an irregularity to the hairline and throughout that seems very natural and human. It is unique to me. I also thought I would need way more grafts based solely on pictures from the internet. I only needed 1721 and I am not disappointed. He achieved a better result than I believe many would with twice the grafts. This is great because it's probably how I healed so quickly and it will leave more room for the future if needed, not to mention of course less scarring and thinning of the back. I also clearly see that he strategically used only single-hair grafts in the very front and the largest grafts further back which I understand is time consuming so many teams do not take the time to do this (even if they say they will). This shows the level of attention to detail, and as an untrained eye, I am sure I don't even see everything.
There is nothing that could have been better about this experience.
THANK YOU Dr. Anderson!
