Arm Liposuction (6-month update)
WORTH IT
It has now been 6 months since my arm liposuction surgery with Girin Plastic Surgery Clinic and I am loving my results. All the swelling has gone down now and although I have been careful to work out and take care of my health, my arms looks a lot more toned than before the surgery.
I had some swelling for several weeks after the surgery, and staff from Girin checked in on me via WhatsApp to ensure that I was healing well and did not have any issues.
Overall at this time, I would highly recommend Girin PS Clinic for their emphasis on patient safety and caring after surgery.

Arm Liposuction
I wanted to get liposuction on my arms for a while and reached out to several clinics before travelling to Seoul. Girin Clinic was very quick to respond and answered all my questions which factored into my decision as other clinics didn't answer sometimes at all. Girin PS was also the only clinic that did a pre-op inbody check, blood test, ECG, urine test, and chest x-ray before surgery, so I felt safe with them.
Travelling from out of country, I wanted to decide on a clinic before arriving so I sent a deposit and booke my surgery. I appreciated that they had an entire team of English translation staff, and they arranged transportation to and from the airport for me.
I have had plastic surgery before in my country and in Seoul, so I knew what to expect for pain level and preparation. I surprisingly felt no pain in my arms when I woke up and because I was travelling alone, I was permitted to stay at the clinic for several hours after I woke up to ensure I would be ok. They were a little worried about me but called me a taxi and made sure I got to my hotel safely. If I can make one recommendation it would be to bring a guardian if you can!
The anesthesia was the worst part for me: I was sick until the next day and had a sore throat for about 5 days. For the first few days, I walked a lot but had some swelling in my hands and abdomen (normal!), but just unnerving to see. After 3 days, they checked my incisions, and after 7 days the stitches were removed, however the staff at Girin PS were available to assist me anytime for questions or concerns. I was surprised as well that I had next to no bruising which was great. Even being alone, I was able to move my 2 suitcases around Seoul with no problem, and the compression garment was made to fit me while I was in surgery, so it didn't hurt or pinch me (which can happen when the garment is not custom made to you).
*It has been 5 months now since my surgery and my scars are not noticeable at all and my arms look a lot more toned in general now. I love the result!
Overall a great experience :)

It sounds like you were really well taken care of!
I’m actually considering a different procedure and was wondering how you felt about the clinic overall?
Did the place feel clean and professional?
How were the staff and the general vibe of the hospital?
I’m trying to decide if it’s a good place to trust with another type of surgery and go there if ever they are a great clinic to trust on!

I liked the clinic, it was very well organized. I had some trouble finding the entrance, but that's just me getting lost on the busy streets of Seoul lol.
They have signs for foreigners and indicate via signage the language for which they have interpreters. The clinic was pretty busy, and seemed popular with locals as well which was good because there are so many clinics/hospitals around Gangnam! The hospital is also very well staffed, so as busy as it was, it was still organized. They have 2 floors, one for cosmetic procedures, and another floor for surgeries, so it felt very hygienic to me.
The staff were all very sweet. I reached out to them directly on WhatsApp, and when I arrived, they had an interpreter that stayed with me the entire time from my consult straight to the surgery room, and she was there when I woke up. My doctor actually spoke a little bit of English so he could understand me, and was very sweet. They have doctors in many specialties, so depending on what procedure you wanted, you may have different doctors.
They were also available anytime, and I even called them from the airport after hours and they picked up with no issue.

Also, how was recovery on your own? I'm a bit nervous about managing everything solo. Were the compression garments comfortable for you, and do you think they’d work well for larger areas? Oh, and were there any unexpected costs during the process?
Recovery from arm liposuction was actually really easy. The only thing I would say to be conscious of is that swelling goes farther than you think: my hands got swollen for days, but I didn't even get much bruising. The compression garment was made to fit me while I was in surgery, so it was comfortable.
For additional costs, it was not unexpected, but the compression garment and medication to pick up at the pharmacy are an extra cost. Compression garments range in prices depending on where you go, mine was around $90USD, and medication is around $30USD. A lot of people (not the clinic) recommend lots of products or laser treatments to fade the scars, but I found Korean surgeons were very skilled at making incisions invisible. No one can see the scars and I didn't use any products.
Hope this helps a little :)
