POSTED UNDER Arm Lift Reviews

So far the experience has been great

One month

I had a small spot open up near my armpit on the right arm. It was a little unnerving at first but it has slowly closed up and it doesn't seem to be impacting the overall results.
My arms are still pretty sore on the backs but the swelling is down and I've been given the greenlight to start going without compression, which has been SO NICE.
I may end up needing some additional lipo to my right forearm to even them out a bit, but that is just because my right arm was much larger than my left.
I will be back with updates after my next appointment!

How long after an arm lift can you do liposuction on them?
I had liposuction done during the same procedure. They do lipo first before removing the excess skin.
I'm about 3 weeks behind you....it amazes me the way different drs inscisions look...like the techniques are so different....my scar placement is the same as yours but it curves into the bend of my arm....really curious to know how you are doing now????
Doing pretty good! How are you feeling?? All closed up?
I have another week or two for the arm pit wound, it's getting smaller everyday and it makes me so happy to see the new skin growing...I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I started spitting stitches at exactly 3 weeks....this past Tuesday I had a HUGE dog ear cut off near my other arm pit.....I hurt super bad Tuesday night but Wednesday it was fine, just staying in compression until both sides are completely healed...my choice....are u still feeling sore? I feel seems like the canula of the lipo whacked my arm bone with every stroke lol
Yeah the backs of my arms feel like they will be more sensitive for the rest of my life. Lol. My range of motion is completely back though which is really nice.
I know those armpit openings feel like they will never heal. Once they close up though it goes uphill very quickly.
Is this the only surgery you have had? I had a Mommy makeover 2 years ago and the feeling never came back in my abdomen so I've been wondering if my arms were always gonna feel weird....I gave that consideration before surgery cause with a weird tummy and weird arms I didn't wanna feel trapped in my body if that makes sense
This is one month??? Looks really good!! I had crescent arm lift(recommend by my surgeon) in October, said they could make them tight....they look no different, so now I'm having a revision in April and I'll be getting the vertical incision.
Thank you! It really isn't as bad as I thought it would be pain-wise. Just prepare for the long recovery. 4 weeks with open wounds doesn't sound like a huge deal but man it felt like forever. Lol. Just remember to take it easy even if you feel like you can do more.
Who did you use?

First post-op appointment

Today I was able to get the drains removed! I feel so free now! Haha. They left two open holes in my elbows which I have been keeping covered in gauze until they stop leaking and close up.
I have been tasked with increasing my reach range so I can reach straight up over my head (think roller coaster arms). I can now use soap on my scars in the shower and hopefully slowly work off the glue stitches and marker outlines left from surgery, which has not come off in the 3 showers I've taken so far.

Adding some exciting before and after photos of the tartan shirt I bought for Christmas a few weeks ago. It's crazy how much arms can change a body!!!

How much was your procedure if you don't mind me asking. I'm very intersted.
Ah, I know this feeling when the top of the sleeve is too snug...I’m excited for you and thank you for posting. Please share an update! How’s it going now, 6 months or so later?
Doing great! Just working on keeping my scars moisturized. I might have a revision on my right arm elbow area next after I hit the 6 month mark in June, but I am thrilled with my new arms.
Thank you

4 Days Post Op

I am 4 days out and everything has gone really well. I have drains in and am hoping I can get those out on Monday at my first post-op visit. I have cut my pain killer dose in half and can lift my arms above my head without much issue. I was told I didn't have to try to put on the compression garment until after I got my drains removed, if I didn't want to, but I was able to (with the help of my husband) very carefully pull it on towards the end of day 2.

I took my first shower yesterday (day 3) and sat on the edge of the tub and washed myself with the shower nozzle using hibiclens. I will try and wash my hair tomorrow because I don't think I can deal with dirty hair much longer.
I am really happy to have a partner that helps me do anything I need, I don't think I would be doing nearly as well if I lived on my own.
So far I am thrilled with the results and can't wait to see them heal up!

So happy for u!!! Mine is jan 8th and I can hardly wait!!! I hope u continue to post...I could use the encouragement
You will do great! I was so worried for the couple weeks before hand but it was seriously so much better than I expected. Not painless by any means, but totally manageable. And well worth it! I'm will keep updating as I heal up
Any helpful hints.... anything u wish u would have known etc?
I have a front clasping compression garment I bought on Amazon that has a built in bra and that has been really nice. SHER is the brand and it was only $26 and it's super silky soft. I have it in two colors and I alternate it every other day so I can keep them clean.

I also highly recommend senokot for keeping your bowels moving. I tried Colace because the doctor recommended that but it didn't do anything. And maybe have some gauze and micropore tape on hand. I used that over my incisions the first few times I put my compression on, just because I was super nervous for the fabric to stick to my stitches. I'm not sure it was necessary but I have used the gauze multiple times since having my drains removed so it definitely wasn't a complete waste.

Otherwise just keep active. I was walking a half mile 3 days out and I think that has helped me keep up my healing.
I believe I got the same type of compression but mine is from cyber dream....sleeves to elbows....built in bra and hook and eye closures down the front....it's like a crop top so I also got a velcro band for my back and abdomen cause I'm also having extensive lipo....I bought two of the sleeve garments but I bought one in size large and one in extra large....pretty sure the large will have to wait til swelling disapates
Good plan! Sounds like you are on top of it! Arnica tablets have also really helped with my bruising. I'm like 10 days out and my bruising at this point is minimal but my husband said the backs of my arms were black with bruises from lipo immediately after surgery.
Silly question but do u know how much that skin weighed and how many lbs of fat got sucked out?
Over 1600cc of lipo. He said it was around 3lbs total but I think with skin and lipo it was over 3lbs. He hasn't ever given me an exact answer because he didn't have his iPad on him at my post op appointment.
Did u just have lipo on your arms?
Yep. I kind of wish I had done my forearms too, but I still have about 20-30 to lose and now that my arms are a normal size I am feeling way more motivated to finish that goal.
