How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Feel Mutilated
I have waited a long time to write this review. Partly because I had two procedures contemporaneously with one outcome mostly successful and the other leaving me irreparably mutilated, and partly because I thought Dr. Lacerna a kind doctor so I didn’t want to write a bad review.
In September 2013 I had a BBL and mini-brachioplasty with Dr. Lacerna. The BBL turned out okay. I don’t think that I had enough fat to harvest to get the outcome I desired, so I won’t attribute any dissatisfaction with the BBL to Dr. Lacerna. However, the mini-brachioplastly resulted in 3/4 inch thick, 5 inch long, purplish-red scars pointing in different directions on the back of my arms. Now, I am a person who scars well. I’ve had two breast augs with no scars to be seen and an abdominoplasty where there are sections of almost imperceptible scarring. No, this scarring was caused by putting the incisions on the wrong plane, in the wrong position, with the wrong amount of tension (as explained by the doctors I’ve consulted with since). The result was that as I moved and lifted my arms the scars spread width wise.
I have since consulted two different doctors for a revision. One doctor told me the standard for revision is one in which the doctor thinks there can be some type of improvement. He seemed to think that while there was a possibility he’s was unsure of how much. The second doctor said he would try but I might just “have to live with it.”
I also consulted with Dr. Lacerna about a revision. While in an exam room, after having pictures taken, I heard one of her staff grab my chart and exclaim to someone else “Who did this to her?” Dr. Lacerna came in and offered a revision at the cost of only the anesthesia and OR fees, but I was scared to go back to the doctor who did this to me. I then went off to grad school and didn’t have time to address it, but when I graduated in May I e-mailed Dr. Lacerna explaining everything I have written in this review and asking her to provide reassurance that this is something she could improve. She did not respond to my e-mail.
I have provided pictures but they do not depict the unsightliness and darkness of the scars.
In any event, that’s my honest review.
