Why Didn't I Do This Sooner?!

WORTH IT
I can’t believe it’s already been three years. I know I said the same thing at the two-year mark, but seriously — time flies. I still get so many messages and comments asking for updates, so I figured it’s time for another one. I don’t check this site often, but when I do, I try to respond to as many of you as I can.

A few months ago, I went to see Dr. Seal again — mostly just to check in, but also to explore some possible next steps. Here’s what we discussed:

Another areola revision

Fat transfer + lift

Just a lift

He was super honest and told me that without implants, I’m probably never going to get that perfectly “round” shape I had right after my areola reduction. Fat just doesn’t behave the same way. It sucks, because when I first had the reduction done, my boobs looked amazing — so full and round. But of course, that’s the fresh post-op look. Over time, gravity does its thing, and they settle into a more natural shape.

That said, I still stand by my decision to never get implants.

Interestingly, my boobs have gotten significantly bigger since the surgery. I’m not sure if it’s due to weight gain, or if maybe the fat is just more evenly distributed now. It’s weird — it feels like before surgery, all the fat was concentrated in the lower part, giving me that "snoopy" look. Now, everything looks fuller and more balanced. I still have a round shape, and I get compliments all the time — people even ask if they’re real. Dr. Seal mentioned I have that highly desired “teardrop” shape and that the results have settled beautifully.

I’ve genuinely learned to love them. They’re so much better than before, and the added volume doesn’t hurt either. Fat transfer or a lift is always something I might consider in the back of my mind, but I’ve stopped obsessing over it. Another surgery just isn’t on my radar right now.

Dr. Seal did mention he’d be open to doing another reduction if I wanted, but I honestly don’t feel like I need to go through all of that again. Maybe it would help them sit like they originally did — who knows. I’ve read mixed reviews. Either way, I’m content. And if I had to go back to where I started? I’d do the surgery again in a heartbeat.

One thing I’ve come to terms with is that plastic surgery doesn’t guarantee perfection. I also had a rhinoplasty done, and it really opened my eyes. You can hope for the best, but revisions are common — that’s just the reality. These two surgeries have definitely humbled me and changed the way I look at cosmetic procedures. One thing I’ve come to terms with is that cosmetic procedures aren’t the “end all be all.” It’s easy to go into surgery thinking it’ll fix everything or give you perfect results, but that’s just not reality. We can all hope for the best, but perfection is rarely guaranteed.

My friends and boyfriend often tell me my results are “perfect,” and I’m incredibly grateful for that — but at the end of the day, it’s all about perception. What looks perfect to one person might still feel “not quite right” to someone else, especially when it’s your own body and you’re hyper-aware of every detail. That’s something I’ve really learned over the last few years.

Thanks to everyone who’s stuck around and followed my journey. I hope this helps anyone going through something similar or thinking of doing the same for themselves.

2 years post op!

Wow it's been 2 years?! I have had a ton of private messages and comments asking for updates so here it is.

My boobs don't look as good as they did when I first posted here. When I first had this procedure done, my boobs were the perfect shape and size, my nipples sat in exactly the position I wanted them to, and they were small. They were exactly what I wanted.

Well.. 2 years later I believe I need another surgery. I was warned and saw on many areola reduction posts that they will stretch and most women need 2 - 3 surgeries. I was hoping mine was not the case but after 2 years it IS the case. I have a full B/pushing a C cup, so they're not small but not big. I was hoping that the size of my breasts wouldn't cause stretching because they're not that big, but I was wrong. I think the only breasts that wouldn't stretch in a case like this are A/AA cup.

Any gravity or weight or pressure on the nipples will eventually stretch them out, so if you're a big busty woman, it's only a matter of time before they stretch. Sooner than later. For me, it was about a year and a bit before I noticed they started stretching out and areolas sitting lower.

I do not regret the surgery because the surgery did address the snoopiness/puffiness of my nipples, but not to the point that I'm 100% happy with. I'm looking into fat transfer and another areola reduction surgery to maybe get the results i'm hoping for?

I've been advised that breast implants will solve my issues but I refuse to do it. I refused back then and I refuse now. To me it's not worth the risk of BII, and I can't stand to think I would have something implanted in my chest. I am determined to do this as "natural" as possible, whether I use my own fat or have 6 areola surgeries lol.

I may post photos I may not. I know tons of women want to see as it does help.

Hi! Yay, an update! Would love to see how things are looking at this point. Did you have permanent stitches or dissolvable?!
October 12, 2024
Thanks for the additional update. I had a BL last year with the hope of transforming my snoopy boobs but my areola stretched. One developed a small inflection at 3wpo and left a nasty scar and the other areola stretched out. So 3 days ago my PS did exercised some skin around the periareola. I had dressings on atm but I’m hoping they look better and smaller. I’ve lost some weight since the original BL so hope that extra skin won’t pull on my areolas again!

Do you have any photos after two years and did you get a follow up surgery

I'd also love to see an update/photos of where you're at now! As you know, it's so helpful to see for those of us trying to decide a course of action.

3 weeks post op

These are photos I took at 3 weeks post op and I was so happy with them. They look amazing and I’m super happy with the shape and size. The sutures are healing nicely.
The pain in my left breast is still there but not as often. I have strange discolouration under my boob and I’m not sure if it’s bruising or part of the healing so I’ll keep that updated too.

They look great! Have you found that your nipples 2 weeks post op were the size they are now or did they widen a bit after healing?
October 25, 2022
Thank you!

No not at all. They have healed exactly in the same position and width from my surgery.

I don’t have large breasts though so I know that has a lot to do with stretching. The more weight the breasts have the harder it is on the sutures and scar tissue. (I asked the surgeon about this because I was worried about stretching!)
January 13, 2023
How is the scarring?
January 13, 2023
Very noticeable and very defined at this point in my healing journey. I've been told it will take up to a year to fully heal.

Looking great, I've done it after wanting it for 18y and after 3 months everything went back how it was. I'm so sad. What i have left is feeling Satures, pain and one shy flat nipple... There's just not enough about post op online.. i didn't even realize i will feel sutures... I went to high end surgeon but i guess this was not profitable enough for him to fully explain what happens after.. he did say something may come back but just after 3months so much .. not really worth it. I also had horrible experience whilst on table as my hand was touching metal, and got electro-shocked a few times on my left breast ... There must be a space to talk more about post op...this is not "just simple "procedure for me in the end...

Do you have permanent stiches?
December 16, 2022
I have permanent sutures yes.

I’m so happy for you! I also have tuberous breasts & thought I would need a FT but your shape has changed so much from just the areola reduction!
January 13, 2023
Thank you! I completely agree, the shape changed drastically which was one of my main concerns (snoopy boobs). I was also looking into a FT before I decided to go with an areola reduction and I'm really happy I did. FT is so much more invasive and I've read some horror stories about fat dying etc. I recommend you find a great doctor in your area and start with a consultation for areola reduction. He or she will be able to assess your breasts and give you a much better idea if the surgery will work for your concerns.

Please make an update of how’s it going. How are you healing? It would be very helpful!!

Hi! I totally forgot all about my updates. I'll be posting them this week since I'm coming up to 1 year post op!
