Day of surgery

Day of surgery
I wasn't nervous as I've been there before. First the breasts will be numbed. This is not painful but a bit unpleasant as a liquid is injected around the areolas and lower breasts. After the doctor starts with the cuts. I didn't feel anything other then pressure and you might hear the knife on the skin, but I didn't look so it was ok. Then everything will be stitched together. Again other than pressure, I didn't feel anything.
In the end the doctor put dressings on my stitches to hold everything together and help with the healing process. He advised me to not get them wet, they need to stay dry until my next appointment in 2 weeks. He also gave me painkillers in case I need them. I didn't really see my new areolas as the dressings cover them up.
I was feeling good after surgery. My breasts were still numb, no pain.
The pain started about 6 hours later when I went to bed. The whole night was a nightmare. First I was in a lot of pain, then I also started to bleed around the incisions, it leaked through the dressings and lastly I am not used to sleep on my back which is uncomfortable for me. I didn't sleep much that night. I felt a bit better in the morning, pain wasn't that bad anymore. My breasts just felt very tight. I sent my doctor a picture of the dressings as I was worried about the blood. It had dried and the bleeding has stopped, but I wanted to double check. I have an appointment now in a week after surgery. Let's see what he says. I keep you guys posted.

Pre Surgery

I just wanted to share my experience as the reviews on this side have really helped me.
I had a breast reduction 12 years ago. All went well and I love the shape of my breasts, but my areolas weren't reduced much and stretched out over time. My doctor offered to do a correction and performed an areola reduction where areolas were cut out, reduced and stitched back on with a purse string technique under local anesthesia. Again after a year areolas stretched out to previous size. I was so tired of surgery that I just made my peace with it for 10 years even though I was unhappy with the way my areolas looked.
But now I decided to have another go. My doctor suggested to do a Bilateral Mastopexy under local anesthesia. If you just cut out the areola and make them smaller, the pressure on the scar is so high, they will stretch out again, so there is no point in repeating this procedure as it didn't work for me last time.
In his opinion the vertical cut will take pressure away from the areola hopefully preventing it from stretching out again. I really hope so, as this is my third attempt and I'm getting tired and broke lol.
