I’m in my 30’s and haven't had any children but up until last week I looked like I’d had at least two after rapidly growing about 5 cup sizes between the age of 18 and 20 (went from an A cup to an E in that time). I hit puberty really late and at the same time stopped being as active as I had been as a child and I just piled on the weight. Once I hit my mid 20's I had become much more health conscious and gradually the weight dropped off but unfortunately the place I had gained the most I then lost the most, leaving me with very droppy breasts. For the past 6 years I have stayed a pretty constant weight and bra cup but was always having to adjust my tops and bras throughout the day to stay tucked in properly.
I saw 3 other surgeons over about four years before I met Dr Richard Bloom. Firstly he spent more than three times the amount of time with me in our first consultation than any other Dr, he spoke to me directly and not just my partner (really I had one guy how couldn't even look me in the eye, let alone direct the conversation in my direction) and he patiently outlined everything I could expect giving me realistic expectations. It was also a great selling point that at ARC Plastic Surgery in Richmond where Dr Bloom consults they use this fabulous software that uses pictures of your body to calculate and simulate the end results, this was the first time I had seen this and was very impressed to see what the outcome could be.
After discussing with Dr Bloom my options we decided that it would be best for me to start with the lift and at a later date if I felt I needed more volume I can have implants. He recommended this to me for two reasons; firstly he believes you get a better result from doing it separately, allowing your breast to have time to heal first and get used to the new shape without over stuffing them with an implant and hoping it will hold tight. Secondly I was not sure if I even wanted or needed an implant as I did have some volume but it just needed lifting back up. I am well aware that this is a more costly route and some Dr’s will do the two in one but as I sat on the fence anyway I appreciated his view and was confident this was the right choice for me.
After years of researching and wanting to do this but perhaps never really believing that I would go through with it, I knew from the moment I walked out that I would be booking my breast lift with him. I trusted him right away.
That was three months ago and now I am 10 days post op. It was worth every cent and the moments of discomfort. It’s been worth sleeping on my back and not being able to clean my house properly, as my nipples are finally in a place where they should be and the fullness is back. I was off all medication on day three and going for walks and moving quite comfortably.
Some people might be interested to know that Dr Bloom doesn’t use a drain where possible and that I just had surgical tape thats used for burn patients to cover up the stitching that is dissolvable. This was great stuff as no need to change any dressings myself. It was easy to shower with but also breathable to help with the healing. After a week I went for my check up and had the first tape removed to be replaced buy less sticky tape which is even more breathable. Everyday I feel more and more comfortable in my own skin and have not an ounce of regret. I was surprised at the positive impact it had on me from the moment I saw myself for the first time.
Right now I don’t know if I will want the second surgery as I feel like I am in proportion although of course I may still be a little swollen perhaps and will see in a few months or so how I feel.

Congratulations on what sounds like a successful surgery. It sounds like you're happy with your results so far, but it looks like you had "Not worth it" as a rating. Would you like me to change that to "Worth it?" You also have your surgery cost as $10, which I am assuming is a typo, should it be $10,000? I'm happy to change that, too.
Let us know how you're healing is going, and if you could use any support. We're here for you!
