Laser eyeliner removal

V
V604
Today I did my first laser permanent eyeliner removal. The pain was more than I had imagined. But it's done now. Extremely extremely swollen! I'm hoping it's only one time needed...shitty part is one spot was missing. But not worth doing it again for a spot! As mentioned all brows and eyeliner laser pics will follow when I am fully removed so that there is a whole progression series.

Did they inject anesthetic? If so it shouldn't hurt at all!
N
June 16, 2016
Where did you get it done? Hope it all comes out in one go :)
V
June 16, 2016
No no injections of anything. Only numbing cream. But there wasn't enough numbing applied and I was asked if I wanted anymore. I said I didn't want anymore applied bc I would have to wait. I just wanted it off so said just zap!
EI
June 18, 2016
They injectioned me with lidocaine and that is what made me swell so BAD!
V
June 18, 2016
@ashashash77 no the lidocaine doesn't make u swell it's the beating of the laser! It at least lowered the pain:) Oh I'm extremely swelled!!! And very bruised!
N
June 18, 2016
How did you go ashashash? Did they say your tattoo is easy or difficult to treat? On friday I tried combined fracional co2 and q switched on my eyebrows, so hiding away again with my scabs!
N
June 18, 2016
V604 very brave to do it without numbing. i scrunch up my face too much so it would be impossible to do without it.
V
June 18, 2016
I just wanted it gone and done with. I didn't want to wait any longer and for the numbing that's how crazy this whole thing is. After a few zaps u just become numb anyways.
EI
June 19, 2016
As soon as they shot me with the lidocaine I puff right up way before the laser.
EI
June 19, 2016
He didn't say if it was an issue to treat. He just said He can't tell me how many times I need to do this. I was scared that it would take 10. He said no "not that many" but then he asked if I wanted it removed or lightened. I said removed so he said the piciosure laser is what we would use. I didn't lose lashes but it shortened the hell out of them. so I'm scared to do it again. He basically said he had no on lose lashes forever but it's a knock on wood kind of thing.
EI
June 19, 2016
Typo no on lose lashes yet but could happen I guess

The lady who removed my liner (different person from removing my brows as my brows dr doesn't do eyes) and the lady who did my eyes specialized in liner and lip removal. (I didn't go to her the first time bc ppl scared me from laser) anyways she told me that one should do maybe 2 for touch up remove only. But one would be enough. Bc the machine she used was very different (called the beauty laser perm remover??) not sure but it worked so that's all that counts. Yes my lashes got shorten a lot and parts turned white. I've had only a few that's fallen out but it might have been there time. Hard to say. But I'm 85-90 removed on one go. Couldn't ask for anything more. Now back to brows in 5 weeks
N
June 19, 2016
Thanks lucky. I really dont think theres a huge different with the lasers.. theres q switched and then the latest ones are picosure/picoway. I've tried them all. How many more brow sessions do you think you need?
V
June 19, 2016
I'm not sure how many but I'm just using Picoway. I think gonna give it another 1 and if still this slow I'm gonna go see the same lady that removed my eyeliner bc she said come see her if next Pico doesn't remove enough. I've already pre-paid so will do a last Pico and then reassess and then maybe the beauty laser?? Seems good for liner and brows are just as bad but bigger.
N
June 19, 2016
Yeah no harm trying both and seeing what works
EI
June 19, 2016
What's the difference between piciosure and picoway?
EI
June 18, 2016
I just got my first eyeliner session with the piciosure laser on the 16th. I'm still swelling and have bruises. I look like I got beat up but my eyeliner thinned on the top and lighted a very little. I happy I did this because I can see that the ink migration I had is gone!!! I didn't have much migration but it was there and I only got this eyeliner two months ago.
V
June 18, 2016
Great to hear u went the laser root! I had my 1st and most likely last laser eyeliner removal done. I'm quite impressed and wished I had done it a long long time ago. I've had it done on June 15th and can say about 85-90% gone as of today. Still swelled and bruised and itchy but it's better than expected! The remaining amounts are due to 1 missed spot possibility bc too close to my nerve or was too swollen too see and the other few dots is due to ink a little deeper there. Will keep update as days go. Brows however not the same results. I do have scarring to note. But again wasn't from laser.
N
June 18, 2016
I'm so jealous. Why have i had to have 9 sessions of the eyeliner laser when everyone else gets fast results? Cos of the incompetent b*tch tattooish that did them! I HATE HER!.. lol
V
June 18, 2016
Oh dear. U had 9?!? That's a lot. Is it only your eyes? Perhaps the places are using the right length?!? This person who did it for me is an eye specialist that also works heavily with PMU. Perhaps give her a try?!? U do need to book in advance.
N
June 18, 2016
Eyes and brows. No i think they are doing it correctly, I've been to more than 1 place. Its the tattoo thats the problem!! Pretty sure she injected the ink as though it was a body tattoo. Cant wait til its gone, but best to just accept tattoo removal as part of my routine cos its gonna be a long time.. :/
V
June 19, 2016
Wow. Well I've been through so much bs crap but laser is for sure the best route. I dislike the fear mongers that got me scared of it the first time when I had the botch and well I spiralled! Can you do fract co2 on ur eye lids? I do have scarring on my eye lids for the other removal method. And the laser eyeliner I did does not do anything else but removal ink!
EI
June 19, 2016
What other methods did you use to remove eyeliner ? I looked into saline for the top lids but went straight for laser and happy I did but now more ink is gone on top of my lids I was thinking that saline may lighten it or remove some of the tails on my eyeliner.
V
June 19, 2016
I did a burn off treatment which to be honest is good and works only for a little touch up removal not for the extent I needed which caused issues. But was good for the tails and out of stroke areas.
N
June 19, 2016
I dunno if the co2 laser is precise enough... But maybe? Ill find out one day cos i have indentations from the original tattoo placement as well. I tried saline removal. Didnt work and plus you risk scarring. You should stick to the laser.. it should be able to remove the tails as well.
V
June 19, 2016
I have indentations on a small portion of my left lid. I think she went to hard with the needle there:( and now my hooded lid drops more there annoying. I do have some as well on brows. But my dr is good about what to do next and I trust him. However he doesn't do anything too close to the eyes or with use of ocular shields
N
June 19, 2016
Yeah some doctors dont want to risk it. I can understand why, I wouldnt want to mess with eyes if i was a dr. Lawsuit no thanks lol. Maybe some fractional resurfacing will help blend your scarred eyebrows. Ask if he can combine it with the next tattoo removal session perhaps? I'm bored :( Scabby eyebrows for dayzzzz.. Hope I have some progress ;(
EI
June 19, 2016
Laser shortened my tails just a tiny bit.
V
June 19, 2016
Haha I'm same hiding bc people think I got abused lol. I said I did but by laser haha. My dr is not gonna do any other lasers till after I'm fully ink free. And he's doing my first scar treatment for free. Said this shouldn't have happened and it really should be properly monitored for certified.
N
June 19, 2016
Thats nice of him! It really should...
EI
June 19, 2016
How old is your liner? I heard that try after 3 years you may get better results.
V
June 19, 2016
Mine is still considered fresh. It's a year old. And one side is thick.
N
June 19, 2016
mine is 4/5 years old. lol
EI
June 20, 2016
I was told that of your tattoo is old it may be easier to remove. But mine was only 2 months old and the doc said that the smell was fresh ink burning from the laser. So I'm not sure if that's why my top lids look much better but they do. The tattoo is still there. Very much there but a small result made me happy. I hope this comes all out one day even if I have to do as many treatments as you did. I want to warn people about this. This was life changing for me.
N
June 20, 2016
At least it can be covered with makeup. But yes it's horrible and should be illegal! Do you have both bottom and top?
EI
June 20, 2016
Yes I did top and bottom:( unfortunately. It should be illegal. After I seen what I looked like I was shocked and actually even said the same thing.
EI
June 20, 2016
Also I'm so white and this eyeliner is so black I can't even really cover it up well:( I could buy tattoo camo.
EI
June 25, 2016
Hey mane you could tell me. Do your skin around your eyes still look the same? It's only been a week for me but under my eyes (the skin looks way more lose) is this a side effect? Will my skin go back to normal? Or is the laser causing this? My top lids are fine.
V
June 25, 2016
Eyeliner issues it's been a week for me and my eyeliner is 95% removed in 1 session. Still a little bruising but very minor. No my skin looks exactly the same too and bottom except for the scarred location for other removal technique. Very happy. Still have white lashes
EI
June 25, 2016
I'm still swelling a little so I hope I don't have bags under my eye for ever. Mine is thinner and lighter with one treatment. Hopefully after two mine will be better.
N
June 26, 2016
It wont affect your skin permanently. I have a consultation booked with a doctor who has deep fx co2 laser. I explained to the receptionist that tattoo removal lasers arent working and she a series on treatments should vaporise the tattooed skin, fingers crossed the doctor says the same thing

Thank you all for posting here. It's been really helpful to find someone who understands the pain of living with bad permanent makeup. I had eyeliner done about two and a half years ago. It's on both my upper and lower lids, and has wings too... I can't believe I did this to myself. I have cried a lot and forget about it when I put makeup on, but I struggle when looking at the mirror after removing it. Should probably make a first post at some point, just not feeling like it right now. But first, I wanted to thank you all for being so brave and posting publicly. I wish I knew how to tag all of you! @V604 @eyeliner issues @nearlynatural (hopefully that will work?) So glad to hear your eyeliners are fading! I'm located somewhere in between, near Seattle, WA. Next month I have an appointment for laser removal; I'm so frigging scared! I'm bouncing back and forth thinking if I should cancel.. Would love to hear an update from you!

Are u in America? I never heard of that laser. But I'm happy for you.
V
June 19, 2016
I'm in Vancouver BC Canada. Yes I was like what laser is this so I can tell other...she said name and I was like huh? But it works and so not gonna complain. But again it doesn't do anything more than remove and find ink. So any scars or birth marks, beauty and such it won't remove unlock the Pico lasers.

Your over by CA..... Across country from me. Dang. But my eyeliner is thick and dark so I knew mine would take more then once. I was hopeful but as you can see...I posted pics of one treatment. It made a tiny difference. But hey it's an improvement.

Which place did you go to for the eyeliner laser? Do u think that laser would be more effective in eyebrow removal too?
V
June 20, 2016
Dayne Dayne I am going to do one more session with Dr.Boey and then will go the the lady as I believe she has a stronger laser! One session and today I can say 90% gone both top and bottom liner. I wished I went there first, so that I would probably not have the scars I have currently. How was ur session with him?
DD
June 21, 2016
I still haven't gone, I still only have a consult booked for June 30th but honestly I was same way, just wanted to hurry and try and fix something so I did two tattoo vanish sessions and while it definitely did help, they are still just not what I want and every time I look in the mirror I still just wish I cud go back in time. Everyone says theyr nice, there not bad, etc... But when it's on ur face it's different as I'm sure u know all too well. I am thinking tho that if you wouldn't mind maybe meeting up on day in July maybe you could give me the information of the lady u went to for ur eyeliner. I hate the thought of a consult, then a test patch, then treatments that do minimal removal and it all taking so darn long! If u had that much removal with that one lady I would almost rather go to her. Also if u ever wanted it would be nice to sit and talk with someone, it's weird how this thing that is supposed to make u feel better can literally make u feel awful to the point where u just wanna say screw it! It's horrible and no one understands unless they have gone thru it. And I think it's a great thing if it's done exactly the way u want and u love it, otherwise ur life is ruined. I feel like after the two vanish sessions they are more bearable, but still not the right shape, one is way darker than the other(left eyebrow) and I feel like I just want it all gone. I have minimal scarring from the vanish but to be honest it's almost like at this point I dnt even care anymore. Il take a bit of scarring for a bit of improvement. I just wish we both had found ur eyeliner lady right at the start!!! But I know that I have talked to a dermatologist and the scarring can easily be resurfaced so that the skin is like new baby skin, so that's good to hear. And I almost wonder why they can't just resurface the ink right out of my skin!! Anyhow I'm rambling, I'm sorry I could go on forever I'm sure!! Thank u for all your posts tho, I just hope u know that I took great comfort in ur bravery and knowing someone so close to home was literally going through T the exact same thing. And family and friends just think we'll why did u even let her do it? Or u shudve researched more, etc.. And I just wanna slap them lol!!!
V
June 21, 2016
dayne dayne, you made me cry! thanks for finding my postings helpful. I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND to the T! and yes family can be such jerks sometimes...really.

For sure let me know what works for you and you can see the damage done on my face. its bad, but I am starting to see some of my natural normal come out. Excelled aging though. I am doing better, but i have days when i fall back into that down spiral and you just can't help it.

I PM you my email, so you can send me your info and ya lets get together and enjoy the company:)
yip giving Dr. Boey last removal and then going to the lady. I think she is a lot more knowledgable in ink removal. But will go back to him for scar therapy.

I checked my inbox and I don't have a message from you? I'm not sure how that works but I went to the icon thing an I have an option to go to my inbox but I only have an old message from the real self team. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?? Sorry I dnt get personal messages lol, but I wud definately love to sit down one day and just talk about how fun this whole eyebrow tattoo thing all is!! Lol!

I think that laser your talking about could be a Nag laser from what I read in like trials of doctors use lasers. They referred to the nag laser as perm beauty laser or something like that.
V
June 25, 2016
Not sure what the laser is but it's a whole lot better than the Picoway. I have decided to cancel my Picoway removal with the other dr and go with the lady who removed my eyeliner. Let's see if hers can do the job.

How are your eyebrows doing now? I just had my eyebrow done a week ago and I hate it! it's been a traumatizing experience.. Needless to say I'm not going to the retouch appointment, and now looking for ways to remove it. After reading your post I think I'll try laser, but I'm really scared the ink turning colour. The technician who did my brow has absolutely no idea what is in the ink, except that it's "organic and plant based"... which I think is bull. Just wanted to ask how your brows are doing with the laser, thanks!!

Hi there! I just read your thread and hopeful I can have my permanent eyeliner and eyebrows removed as well. I've been reclusive due to the bad work I have done on my face. I can only blame myself as I didn't do enough research. So I have crooked eyebrows which makes me look like I had a bad botox job. Also lopsided eyeliner so now I look hideous. Please provide update whenever you get a chance. Thanks!

3 weeks since 2nd laser brow removal

I've been meaning to post updates and pictures but I've been having up and downs so I didn't get a chance. Pics I decided to hold off so I can do a whole series and then it's easier for people whose on the edge for progress.

I'm 3 weeks post laser from my 2nd Pico removal and on the right side it's doing pretty good, left side not as great do to heavier amounts of ink. I like to say how many more removals but I rather under calculate then over. Let's just say it's the best choice and the scars from the other removal is slightly better but it's a consistant reminder. Overall I think the worst of the removal is the waiting and watching hairs fall out in clusters as days go by. But it's the cost of a mistake.

Next up going to have 1sr session laser eyeliner removal. It's set for next week:@. I'm more scared of that then the brows.

Almost 2 months since first full laser treatment

I've meant to do an update sooner but I have been on and off emotionally it's not only bc of the botched PMU but the scars and u know....

Anyways my eyebrows on the right side is looking a lot better and more normal than the left in terms of ink; it's faded quite a lot. The hairs have grown back about 80% it's a lot more sparse and the hair itself is a lot finer than before but what counts is hairs did grow back. And yes it was white from the laser. Scars I have are still there honestly it won't go away it's extremely smooth shiny wet looking and hairless. Currently areas are hyper and hypo pigmented and this was not caused by the laser it was the previous methods of removal! My 2nd laser treatment is coming up and I will do a post.
Unfortunately I am unable to supply pics this time as my phone got wiped out. Sorry about that.

So I read your every post you made and I didn't look at any pics. Then looked at your first pictures to posted... It doesn't look bad! Even with one darker. Just use a pencil. I just had eyeliner done and it's so much worse!!! Idk what to do scared... By will not do NO corrections lol none! Laser treatment in NYC is the best I have found with research. I haven't taken any action yet. I'm very white so if I get a ghostly white area maybe that is ok... Idk yet
