I'm so sad I got restyline silk and I like how it was after two week I noticed a bump on my upper left lip that was noticeable so I went to weeks later and told him I want to even it out. He decided that this time volbella on my lips to correct it and make it more even was best. He kept filling and filling the too lio and use the whole syringe and when he was done my top lip was huge compared to my bottom I was like wow I need this evened out so then he got another syringe and did one side of my bottom and then the other and used the whole thing to try to even it all out I came out upset cuz I told him I wanted to get pouty lips and try and look sexy lol and I came out look ugly I feel desperate and sad that I did this . The doctor that did my lips totally messed up my smile I don't even look like me any more and idk what to do not even the shape is the same and I hate it idk what to do I am so angry at myself. Can I get this undoneat no charge since it's so messed up?

Hopefully it's the swelling. I'm not sure if they charge to dissolve it. Good luck to you

Hi. I am sorry for your issue
You can go to another experienced injector to get it dissolved with hyaluronase.
I looked at your before pictures. You are beautiful. You don't need lip fillers or any other kind of fillers !! Leave your gorgeous face alone!

Hugs,
Txmom

It can certainly be dissolved and that's not a hard thing to do. I appreciate your constructive comment.

Go have it dissolved by another doctor. Maybe try Baltimore v Annapolis.

I could never violate a patient's confidentiality, however, theoretically:
1. The swelling and bruising related to lip (or any other area) fillers needs time (up to 2-3 weeks) to go away. When that has happened we can see where we really are with the result.
2. Injectable fillers can be dissolved away if necessary. It may take more than one session with some of the newer fillers.
3. I have extensive experience with injectable fillers, including in the lips. No guarantees can be given with any procedure, but I strive to make every single patient happy.

Dr. Chappell - if that is the case - I sure hope you refunded her money. I have had fillers in my lips for many years by a doctor here in Baltimore, and he has never done this to me.

Thank you for your reply, Dr. Chappell. Hopefully, this patient's bruising and swelling will go down, and perhaps she will re-consult with you for further treatment. It is obvious that you do care about her, and also are giving us some insight about how getting good cosmetic results can take some time and patience. Sometimes, we forget that with any cosmetic procedure, patience is key, and no doctor, no matter how much experience they have, can predict how every patient will respond to a treatment.

Good Luck,
Txmom

I appreciate your comments. Despite what others have said I am no newbie and have a lot of experience with injectables, the large majority of it good. Thank you.

Dear Dr. Chappell,
You are welcome!!
Most RF's understand that Doctors are not superhuman, and that medicine, especially plastics, is as much an art as it is a science. No matter how much experience a practitioner has, an inexact result may happen every once in a while.. The important thing is that you care about your patients enough to support them through any undesired effects and give them some viable options on how to come closer to achieving the aesthetic result they are seeking.
No clinician is perfect 100% of the time.
RF's are here to support clinicians and clients equally with equity and fairness.
I am honored to have been a part of this discussion. I wish you well in your practice.

I just had Volbella done on mine but I'm nearly 50 & just wanted enough to smooth the creases in my lips. So far, I'm extremely pleased with the results and naturalness. I'm so sorry this happened to you sweetie. Thankfully is not permanent. I sometimes wish they had laws in place to prevent girls from having these cosmetic procedures done until they're a certain age unless, of course, is medically necessary. I'd imagine your lips were just beautiful the way they were. I also understand that there are reasons of insecurities, that go away when you have a little something like this done. I guess I see too many young ladies having their faces injected, butt and breast implants, etc. when they were perfect just the way they were. Embrace who you are. This too shall pass, I promise! I would have to give a pat on the back to your Dr for responding, that says a lot about his character and his concern for his patients. I know too many physicians who would have completed ingnored this and looked the other way, who would've taken your money and ran, not caring one bit about your unhappiness. Give him a chance to help and correct this situation. At least he's trying. Unfortunately, you turned out to be a learning experience for him andothers, I'm sure, and prevented it from happening to someone else. I'm sure you did not want to be that experiment and I'm sorry you were but to err is human. Again, I'm sorry this happened but thank you for showing us what CAN happen if. ..hopefully, it will be documented so that it won't occur again in the future, but again, we're all different and there no possible way to know how a persons body will react to certain things. Be thankful it's not permanent and try to stay positive and strong knowing that. You're a beautiful girl just as you are. Please don't be too hard on your Dr. He obviously cares and wants to make things right :) Good luck and God Bless you sweetheart, and God Bless you Dr. Chappell. Prayers that all will work out :)

I appreciate your comments. Despite what others have said I am no newbie and have a lot of experience with injectables. Unfortunately not every result is perfect even though that is always my goal. If patients return I can work with them. If not, I cannot. Thanks again.
