I am a 29 year mother of 4 girls. Motherhood starting early for me at the age of 15, so I lost my shape and body early on and never really experienced be comfortable in my own clothes. I got all my stretch marks from my first child and then my weight throughout the years from my other children and battling of eating unhealthy. I like to work out and I do so in spurts. My weight has fluctuated dramatically over the last 13 years from being a size 7 to a size 14 (148lbs-194lbs) My children are ages 13, 11, 9, and 19 months. My fiancee' (the father of all my children and my middle school sweetheart) and I have decided to not have anymore children so I decided that before our dream wedding in October that I was going to get my body back and go on our honeymoon in a bikini! I have been resarching this for many years but had to wait until we were financially ready for something like this. It is the most exciting thing that I have anticipated besides my wedding (and the birth of my girls) I have been researching this for so long and I feel like I know everthing there is to know but reading the blogs on the site has helped me tremendously so I decided to share my story as well.

Well my surgery is in 2 days and I am starting this review a little late but I am truly excited and overwhelmed at the same time. I do have some anxiety about being limited to what I can do. I work full-time and own a hair and makeup business, I am planning our wedding and I have 4 girls and my littlet one gets so much attention from me which I will not bea able to give her or pick her up and that saddens me but I know it will be worth it in the end. My oldest children and my older sister will take good care of me. I really would not be able to do this without the support of my amazing fiancee' and my wonderful sister. I will post back tomorrow (1 day before my surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Best!!!

Omg I'm so excited for u! Like u I started having children early(had twins at 17) & can totally relate about wanting to get your body back! I'm 29 too & had a TT muscle & hernia repair 1 week ago & havent had a single regret! It's not nearly as bad as you think it is. I also own my own salon & day spa & do hair of course so I know how overwhelming u must feel not being able to work. That's the worst part for me. It sounds like u have a great supportive family who will help you so you're going to do just fine! If u have any questions that I can help with let me know:)

Thank you so much for your support! I could not sleep to save my life last night but other than that I am so excited but I also woke up this morning cramping (uh oh) so you know what that means and that would suck during my post op period to be on my period. Was there any particular thing you did to help recover faster or any specific advice for me?

Thanks again for your response!

Girl don't feel bad I started 2 days ago but figure oh we'll I'm already bloated & my stomach is sore anyway so it hasn't been that bad.lol And dont worry about your PS & nurses U know they've seen it all anyways:) I don't really think there's a faster way to recover. It's going to take about 2 wk on average to be bk to work & basic activities & 6wks to be feeling back to somewhat normal regardless of what u do. I have just been really surprised because I was expecting the worst for everything & it hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I thought! Just follow your PS instructions & you'll do fab:)

Forgot to tell u yoga pants are the best thing ever for post op(very comfy & not restrictive) also if u haven't already started taking stool softeners u might wanna ask your PS about them(very helpful for post op). I use a chair in the shower & a hose shower head this have been a Godsend because you won't be able to stand for long periods of time without getting tired. If you haven't already get yourself lots of comfy pillows. I sleep with about 5 wedged behind me to elevate me one under my knees & a light soft one on my belly just for comfort(& in case my hubby accidentally bumps me). If I think of anything else I'll post em for ya;)

1 day to go!!!!!

I am officially 1 day from the "flat side" I am so excited but anxious at the same time! I am at work today so that has been keeping me focused but I still feel like I have so much to do before tomorrow.....I can't really eat that much and I have been trying to stay hydrated but not eat heavy foods so I won't have issues on the potty later:) I couldn't sleep to save my life last night and I kept having weird dreams, now I understand why my doctors office offered me ambien for the night before my surgery and I should of took him up on that but I probably would have missed surgery since I have to be up at 6am to get into D.C. by 8:30. Northern Va. traffic is horrific!!!!!! Over all I am extremely excited and I can't wait to post after my surgery! Until then........

Good luck fellow TT, I will see you on the flat side!
Oh and I will post before pictures when I get home this evening!

1 Day Po!

My surgery went extremely well and my overall experience was great. My surgery was at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC and my experience with the hospital was great. Everyone was really nice and professional and I really loved my nurse. She was wonderful. For those of you debating to stay overnight, I would do it! It was really great to have someone wait on me hand and foot for the first 24 hours. I have some pretty bad pain after I woke up from surgery but that was quickly resolved with some iv meds. The rest of the evening was good, I was able to get out of bed and walk the hallways with my nurse although I was a little nauseated. I was also super winded. You don't realize how much you use your abs including breathing and talking.

I was discharge this am and the ride home was crappy due to all the NOVA potholes :( I have been in alot of pain today and the vicodin just seems to take the edge off and doesn't relieve it completely. Getting up is difficult but overall I am really happy. I was able to see my tummy for the first time this am when my doctor came to change my dressing. I was really happy with the way everthing looked. My PS said I had a small defect in my bb but he fixed it so right now it's a real inny. I can see my scar because of the steri-strips but that looks good too and my drains are way down in my pubic area so those scars will be well hidden. My PS cut under my c-section scar so he was able to get rid of all the scar tissue from the 2 c-sections I had. My stretch marks are gone except for 1 or 2 I had above my bb but now it's in my bb so you can't tell.........whoo hoo!!!

Well that's all for now, I will keep you posted.......GOOD LUCK FELLOW TT's I will ad photos soon!
