I'll be having a TT and BA July 18th. I've been a bit "obsessed" reading other posts and figured it was time to start my own as I need some support. My family and friends have quite the judgmental views on Plastic Surgery. Consequently, I feel isolated and really appreciate this community. Only my husband knows I'm having a mommy makeover. My best friend and parents know I'm having a TT but I'm not about to tell them about BA. Everyone else just knows that I'm having my hernias repaired - epigastric and umbilical due to a twin pregnancy - they'll probably wonder why my recovery took so long and assume that I must be just be a big baby ; )

My twin pregnancy gave me diastasis recti - miserable. I worked out for the first two trimesters of my pregnancy, lost 5 lbs more than my pregnancy weight gain and had to stop my postpartum gym workouts as they were making my diastasis worse. I went through so much to have my twins after suffering from infertility. While I was struggling to have a baby, I loathed women with babies that complained about what pregnancy did to them......well, now I can identify with them. Yes, I love my twins and having them completes my life dream of becoming a mom (which I will never take for granted). So, all the body changes were worth it by a long shot. The good news is that it doesn't have to be "either/or". How amazing is it that we can reach our dreams of becoming a mom and also get our dream bodies??

I tried the Tupler method for diastasis but would rather spend that time on those exercises doing hard core gym workouts and hated the thought of limiting myself for the rest of my life on that program. Plastic Surgeons confirmed for me that once recovered from a TT, there are no limits. That's why I'm taking this route - freedom with a nice flat tummy.

Other than nursing, my breasts have always been a B cup and I've always secretly adored larger breasts. While nursing twins, I loved the increased size of my breasts. Now that I'm done nursing, I want that volume back! Although I've always wanted larger breasts, I probably would have never actually gone through with breast augmentation. Now that a tummy tuck is inevitable, I figure "Why not get the breasts you desire? You only live once and you'll only have one operation and one recovery if you combine the procedures." My goal is a full C cup and I've been advised to go with round silicon under the muscle, inserted through the aerola. I keep hearing that women regret not going larger with their implants and that's weighing on me a bit. I just loathe regrets, yet I'd like to look proportionate (not like dolly parton), and I'm only 5' 1.5" and 115 pounds.

Blood clots are a concern as I am not able to break down a clot. I found this out during while attempting to become pregnant and was on blood thinners my entire pregnancy and for six weeks post partum. I consulted with a hematologist for my MM and have not yet heard back on the recommendations.

Excited and nervous. I want to cry just thinking about not picking my twins up for 6 weeks and that they won't understand my limits. I'm also not looking forward to depending on other people - I've never been good at that. My husband will be taking 2 weeks off work and from there, I'll have to hire babysitters.

Dr. Sherick is truly amazing and I'm so happy I found him! I had interviewed another PS and chose Dr. Sherick for so many reasons. Dr Sherick has double the experience, continues to do more procedures each year, spent almost 2 hours with me at my consult to go through my 6 pages of questions (he should get an award for that) and has an incredible bedside manner. He said drains weren't necessary - bonus! He assured me that my final expectations were realistic. The other PS was not comfortable with my expectation of having my diastasis fixed to my expectations and only did two post op appointments. Dr. Sherick came to see me in the hospital the next day prior to my release, in addition to 1 week, 2 week and 6 week post op visits. In addition, his office set up in 3 post op massages in house. I love massage and heard it helps with healing/lymphatic drainage. I inquired the cost of the massages for budgeting purposes and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no charge for them! He suggested I consult with a hematologist (due to my fear of clotting) and offered an overnight stay in an hospital. It was so nice to have a nurse checking in on me all night and responding to my needs, while I enjoyed the thoughtful gift bag of high quality lotions, lip balm and gift card that his nurse had given to me prior to surgery. Dr. Sherick is an incredible PS. During your consult and follow up, you'll feel like you're with a close, wise friend who really wants the best for you.
