I am 5'3" and 125 pounds, pretty fit as I run and lift weights regularly. As much as I work out I can never get rid of the excess skin and blob in my lower belly and around my belly button. I went to see Dr. Malhotra at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery for a consult on Monday. He was great, very straight forward and hones about what to expect from a results standpoint. He had considered me for a mini TT but said it would not remove the excess skin or wrinkles around my BB. If I am going through this I want the best results possible so I opted for a full TT. I have scheduled my tummy tuck with no drains on 2/13/18 and I'm nervous and excited! Want to get it over with.

I have a very similar build so I am excited to see your results. Does he have to make a T incision or do you have enough skin to pull down. I don’t have enough loose skin to pull my belly button down low enough so I am interested to see what the surgeon does with you. Either way it will look great and show off that you take good care of yourself! I wish you the best!!

Hi, thank you! The surgeon did not mention a T incision so we will see what happens when he does it. I will post pictures as I can with progress. I wonder if you could get by with a mini TT? The reason I did the full was to address around the BB.

Unfortunately I have about 1” above my belly button where the skin is also loose and some stretch marks. My muscles also need tightening. I wish I could get away with the mini but I have been told that I need the full with the T because I want my scar low. Good luck with the procedure and recovery and I look forward to seeing your pics.

I may not have enough skin as well. theres a 10% chance I will have a T incision.

Hi! congrats on your upcoming surgery! this is a very exciting time for you! in just a week you’ll be on the flat side :) I think you will have awesome results! the TT will show all of your hard work on that tummy after you have that loose skin removed! I was 5’3” and weighed 10 lbs more than you and I’m so happy with my results! good luck!

Well hopefully you have enough skin to pull down but even if you have to get a T scar in a few years that scar should be hardly noticeable. Good luck!! I am so excited for you!!

Dr Malhotra did an excellent job on my tummy tuck. I was in surgery for a little over 2 hours and he got rid of most of my stretch marks. He was upfront about recovery and what to expect. My incision looks great and his office is super helpful. I am considering having him do my breasts next!

Day 1 PO

Surgery was tough woke up with nausea even though I had the patch. Also my legs were spasming maybe from them being in the same position through surgery. Got home and was very sore and still sick to my stomach for day 1 and 2. I Am now on day 3 and stopped taking pain meds and switched to Tylenol. It makes me less I'll but more sore. Feels like swelling is starting. Good thing is that I have no drains and my tummy looks great so far!

One Week

Swelling has started ... It has been at night mainly but today I have been swelled since about 10am. I still have to take tylenol 24/7 for pain and last night woke up hurting in the middle of the night. I sleep around 3 hours at a time and then have to get up and move around. I work at home and started back to work yesterday which was hard. If I worked outside the house there is no way I could work. I can see that this road to recovery will be long and I just hope I am better by week 2!

your doing and looking great. I am 1 week ahead of you. I’ll be 2 weeks post op tomorrow. The immobility for me has been the hardest. I’m active and love walking. I think my back was the worst part. it has been so sore from walking slumped over. I’m 44. 5 ft and 123 lbs. The dr said I would be tight after and he was right. I’m almost 2 weeks out and am about 85 % erect. Back is slowly getting better as I stand more tall. You look wonderful it’s lonely gonna look better. That’s what I keep saying to myself. Thank you for sharing and I’d be happy to answer questions if I can.

I checked out your progress as well and you look awesome! I have not had the back issue so much and started walking erect in a few days. the swelling is the worst for me and gets bad at night, by 7pm i need to lay down and watch tv. I have noticed the last few days I feel human again! LOL. I see you are from Frederick which is crazy because I used to visit my cousins there in the summer when I was a teenager - small world. Keep in touch!!

weeks 1 and 2 were up and down for me. by 3-4 weeks I started feeling a little more “normal”. hang in there! eventually the swell subsides and you’ll start to feel great! it’s a long recovery but it’s worth it! you look great! :)

Thank you so much, definitely taking one day at a time and every day seems a little better than the last :)
