21 Young Lady with an Insistent Acne Problem - Angola, LA

I'm 21 and I have acne ever since I was 10. It was pretty bad for me and I got to a point that I was starting to have it even on my back and chest. I've tried everything from lotions, creams to soaps and minocin, IT DIDNT WORKED, NOTHING WORKED and I was still there wasting thousands of dollars and looking horrible. That's when I discovered accutane browsing online. I changed dermatologist, took all of my previous prescriptions and showed her, she saw that I hated tried all topic medication and even minocin and my last chance of ever getting rid of acne was accutane. She sent me to do a series of exams and go back with the results I all came back A Ok I signed a paper that warned me of all the side effects and that I could not get pregnant Durante and up to 3 months after the treatment because of recital malformation, so she prescribed me 30mg/ day of accutane ( I'm 60kg!). The first month was hard on me because my face skin and lips were really sensitive and where I live it's always sunny and really hot, I could only stay at home at all times. I had both lips and face severely peeling of, even to put sunscreen was hard cause my skin was always burning and itching. The 2nd month was better, no more itching, no more burning, only experience intense dryness on the lips and had to Carrie lip moisturizer everywhere and apply every 5min. My dark spots on the nose started coming gradually of from the inside out till it was all gone. From there it's has all been roses and rainbows! I'm on the 4th month, 5th on February 15! The only sintom I have now it's the dry lips and don't know how but I've gotten about 4 shades darker. I go back every 2 months to my liver and kidneys tested and I'll be finishing my treatment in May 2015. I don't remember the time I had acne anymore. The results are great. I would advise it to anyone who has tried other options and they didn't work or if you have cistic acne.

Real self users I'm near the end of my journey with accutane and for every second I had to retouch my lip moisturizer, apply my SPF and don't go to the beach or pool ( unless the sun as set) I can tell you from the bottom of my heart IT HAS BEEN WORTHY every god dam second! My skin has never been better, acne is no more. I had to stay away from hard exercises cause they make your tryglicerids go up but I'd still exercise. Accutane saved me from overly obsessing with my face because when I had acne I felt so self conscious! Always wondering whether people were looking at one of my pimples, makeup didn't look quiet as good as it looks now, I used to look plastic whenever I had make up on ( unless I ditched the foundation!) now when I put foundation people can't even tell that I have makeup on!! Accutane just made all of my acne disappear along with my dark spots ( which were A LOT!). I couldn't be any happier with the results ( which btw are not the final results yet since I still have 3 more weeks on accutane and 3-6 months so my skin regains its normal scaring process). If you're out there and have bad acne or persistent acne stop just talk to your dermatologist and tell him/her about accutane and if would be appropriated for you, you'll never regret that. Acne is a real problem. It affects your behavior, your self-steam, every aspect of your life. It's something you just can't get over BECAUSE ITS ALL OVER YOUR FACE EVERY DAY, EVERY SECOND YOU LOOK AT THAT MIRROR. People usually don't understand because they don't get to live with it, YOU DO! So do you got to do to get rid of it and enjoy yourself and your like!

I've told you my journey ( so far) with acne. It's been a rough path and I'd like to say that because I only have about 3 weeks left on accutane I'm almost on the finishing line but really I'm not. I still have 6-9 months waiting after beginning my laser and peelings treatment but I'll gladly do it all if that way I can get a better healthy looking skin. Anyhow, in the past 2-3 weeks my skin it's really really oily and shiny. Mattifying it's not even helping in the least. I use uriage hysiac purifying gel then uriage matte and translucid powder to absorb the oiliness but that will only work for about 5mins and up to an hour if I'm in a cool place. I'm getting pretty tired of people constantly telling me " your face is Soo shiny!" and I have to lose valuable mins explaining them I'm on accutane and the process that it implies. I'm glad my journey on accutane it's finally coming to its end after 7 months! I mean Accutane it's great, I love it, I'll never ever ever be able to repay what it has done for me But it's time to say good bye. I miss the days that I didn't have to carry lip ointment as if it was my OWN LIFE! I miss feeling my lips normal ( I can't even remember that felling anymore), I miss going to the beach, I miss waxing really really bad because call me crazy but I actually LOVE WAXING and having to shave 4 times a month it's tiresome and razors ( of any kind or brand) give me allergies, shaving creams give allergies. I can't wait to be able to continue my pursuit for the perfect skin!
